Is modern dentistry a scam?
look at your teeth
I can't afford the dentist a new home when their townspeople are time sitting on me like an Eskimo
YES ITS A FUCKING SCAM and it’s hilarious. On two separate occasions they diagnosed me with 8-12 cavities to scare the shit out of me. Two separate dentists did this, then when I return, 0-1c cavities (and it’s a filling that needs replaced.) But I don’t brush or floss. I don’t know why they try to scare you into brushing and flossing. Just take NAC and that other mineral and you’ll be good. I don’t get real cavities ever. But you should still visit dentist for routine cleanings if you don’t have good dental hygiene.
No. Some people are just fucked and need a lot of work while others need fuck all. The latter group sometimes like to claim dentistry is not necessary, basically being n=1 retards.
>>17040872Sort of, but not really. Normally we should have straight teeth, which doesn't happen because of the widespread malnutrition from industrially produced food, which makes the surrounding bones unable to grow precisely enough. We also appear to have a perfectly functiobal ability to regrow a tooth, which never gets triggered again for some reason once we grow mature teeth. There is no reason that dentistry causes this sitiation on purpose, though.
>>17040872No, the practice is not a scam, but some dentists can be scammers and there's virtually no way to prove them wrong.
>>17040872Ive made it policy to get checked by multiple and only get work done if two dentists see the same thing (v rare) have a hard time going at all now since they made you sign a form saying you believe corvid exists (i didnt cheque that box).I also use restaurant rules, offices in pricey neighbourhoods with nice decor have to skim margin back somewhere else- the good noodle soups are always at the dungiest noodlehouses so theyll have more moral hazard to use the scalpel for profit
>>17040939>We also appear to have a perfectly functiobal ability to regrow a toothCould you refer the source?
>>17040981>Could you refer the source?Yes, I could. Could you try looking it up?
>>17040872no, it's a necessity because of the modern diet. avoiding brushing and going to the dentist if you have a modern lifestyle is idiotic
>>17040872With a diet of grains your teeth will fall out by your early 30s. With a meat diet they will still crumble by your 50s.
>>17040887>>17040939Also tooth decay is mostly caused by a particular bacteria producing lactic acid btw, so populations that aren't infected with it (or are infected with rival bacteria) don't suffer as much from it.https://www.astralcodexten.com/p/defying-cavity-lantern-bioworks-faq
>>17041013Is modern diet a scam?
>>17040872yes
>>17041042>Also tooth decay is mostly caused by a particular bacteriayou are looking at the symptoms. an unarmoured tooth is susceptible to decay, not that bacteria can decay healthy teeth. lacking vitamins and minerals such as D3+K2 and boron+magnesium causes tooth decay because they are responsible for rebuilding and maintaining teeth. The western slop diet is specialized in ensuing nobody gets that nutrition so dentists can profit.
>>17040985>>Could you refer the source?>Yes, I could. Could you try looking it up?Such a rude answer, are you new to /sci/? Learn the rules. The one who makes a statement bears the burden of proof.
>>17041141Where is this from, and what did they do? The face on the left is better grown.
>>17041263Dr. Weston A. Price
>>17040872no but modern food is
>>17041294I could find that but this isn't in the well known book.
