Doesn't saying .999 imply if there were a last digit it would be a 9 which implies 1 minus .999 would be infinite zeroes and then a 1 digit. But there is no last digit because it is infinite, but infinity is also not a number which means that technically the .9 will still be there even if there is no last digit and so will the .1 be there lol.
