What is the most accurate source for weather forecasts these days?I have been seeing forecast that are just completely wrong. Even the current weather is wrong. I have seen it claiming there were rainstorms occuring for several hours where it was actually sunny and clear thr entire time. I have seen so-called satellite and radar imagery that is completely wrong. My assumption is that many weather reporting services are relying on AI tools to interpret data and generate weather forecasts.I've never seen such terrible weather reports in my life.>Artificial intelligence is transforming weather forecasting by generating global predictions in seconds instead of hours using a fraction of the computational power required by traditional physics-based models.>https://climate.uchicago.edu/insights/ai-is-transforming-weather-forecasting-and-that-could-be-a-game-changer-for-farmers-around-the-world/Yeah that clearly isn't working. The complete suspension of criticism and accountability for AI is extremely off-putting.It would appear that their motivation for moving to AI tools is that they believe African farmers are not capable of using physics-based models (due to economic circumstances).Anyway enough about foreign aid scams. Where are physics-based models still in use?
Does anyone know what and why they spray those weird grids in the sky?
>>17044700Essentially all weather forecasts are derived from data from the National Weather Service. A meteorologist's job pretty much comes down to interpreting raw data from the NWS.
Why are scientists such groveling worms? You can't just grow a pair of balls and say the current AI tools are garbage? Look at this pathetic display of begging for funding and not being replaced by machines that don't actually work.>Artificial intelligence (AI)–based models are revolutionizing weather forecasting and have surpassed leading numerical weather prediction systems on various benchmark taskshttps://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/sciadv.aec1433>>17044706Mostly for weather manipulation afaik. If you watch them throughout the day they often spread out to blanket the sky and sometimes can lead to rain.
epic kekistani thread bros
>>17044712>and sometimes can lead to rain.I think it's the opposite, we seem to not get rain, I wonder if they use them to raise air temps that push moisture holding layers higher into the atmosphere and both increase their transport distance and lower precipitation locally. It's contaminating soil and groundwater whatever it is
Here's my weather data from Open-Meteo vs AccuWeather. Look at the significant difference in precipitation. >>17044716stfu, loser
>>17044700>What is the most accurate source for weather forecasts these days?Wather radars. They can measure precipitation. Then again, the clowns around here had it working for eyars and then "adjusted it" beyond credibility. Now it is mostly entertainment, but in a less crazy world, it would work.Radio amateurs have made their own weather radar.
>>17044706So the state and county lines appear in the satellite photos.
>>17044977Nice digits. Post some homebrew radar pics/plans for more epic wins.
>>17044700During President Trump's first term, in order to keep the climate change hoax going, and to further instill the idea that "Trump is destroying America", they changed the forecast to "what the temperature (supposedly) feels like".
