What's the evolutionary purpose of postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis?
>>
>>17047256
It's likely a byproduct of independent adaptive mechanisms and not an adaptive trait in itself.
Hormone levels change during pregnancy, some of which improve mood for the duration. After pregnancy, those hormones will rapidly ruturn to baseline. If the mother had already become accustomed to their elevated mood as the "new normal," the post-partum changes will be experienced as a severe depression.

Note this is a subject of ongoing research and I'm pretty much regurgitating to you the hypothesis that subjectively makes the most sense to me.

I don't know. What's the evolutionary purpose of being some artificially bred human cattle living under psychopathogenic conditions that no creature on the planet evolved to handle? Every time you're about to ask "what's the evolutionary purpose of Westerners being biologically nonviable?" check if the condition in question actually exists in nature. That should answer most of your questions.

>evolutionary purpose
take your meds, tranny.

Consider also that inflammatory events can trigger latent psychological diseases (likely through inflammatory events in the brain itself). Given the sudden shift back from a repressed immune system after pregnancy ...

It's just made up bullshit for BPD women with hormonal swings.
What's normally supposed to happen is other people are around to take responsibility for the baby while the new mom acts like an idiot.
It's unfortunately but manipulative and overly emotional people decide all the time to sabotage others even to the point of murder.
It's just that those same people are coming out of the woodwork to force the idea that they aren't evil, up to and including strangling three children.

evolution is entirely random. it tries things, most of those things fail. think of yourself as an attempt

To kill a da baby

>it tries things
People anthropomorphize or assign agency like this,
It's just entropy...

Which is amoral.
The poison is in the dose.

same reason male lions will kill cubs that aren't his or a panda will reject one of its 2 cubs. not sure what that reason and it's probably a little different for each of these animals including humans

>What's normally supposed to happen is other people are around to take responsibility for the baby while the new mom acts like an idiot.
Agree. The more people to support child are around the better. Isolated families are dangerous even if they are full. Better to have grandparents, other relatives, friends around.

Humans are special in the sense that our babies require an enormous investment in time and ressources, but most of that is spent after birth because of the obstetrical dilemma.

A woman's strategy for reproduction would be to find a suitable partner who'll help her raise her kid, which is very difficult to do especially since me have adapted strategies of their own to have the kid the bail.

If you selected the wrong mate and only realize it after you are pregnant you'd feel pretty bad about it and question your life choices. That plus the hormonal/emotional rollercoaster can lead to infanticide.

Also never forget what >>17047425 pointed out, evolution has no final purpose and most events are just noise. I read recently that some disorders like ADHD can appear trough spontaneous mutations, so while it is slowly eliminated trough natural selection you end up with a stable rate of it in the population.
>>
>>17047425
>evolution is entirely random.
This is demonstrably false.

>>17048581
>evolution has no final purpose
Proof?

>disorders like ADHD can appear trough spontaneous mutations
They can't. It's not a real disorder.

Ok, you're retarded

Psychiatric disorders are not selected for because they help survival. Psychiatric disorders are best understood as an overdose of something which is good in moderation. An OCD person washes their hands until their skin becomes raw, but a normal person washes their hands normally and avoids disease. The OCD person has an overdose of the gene which is highly adaptive in moderation.

There are some evolutionary psychology theories that say, for example, OCD people fulfilled a specific niche (such as in early religions) that helped to propagate their OCD genes, but this is highly speculative and not as clean as the gene overdose interpretation.

>same reason male lions will kill cubs that aren't his
This actually serves an evolutionary purpose though. By killing those cubs, the male has freed up the female to be pregnant with and take care of his cubs. He has also deleted another male's lineage, so his offspring won't have to compete with the other male's.

Looks like you're a mindless NPC and you don't know where to even begin justifying your irrational belief system.

I think it's to make the mother more isolated and less likely to take risks, to not risk death when the child is still nursing.

>>17047425
But, yeah, it's not like evolution is something we can go ask questions to.

Moloch worship or for getting back into baby fever mode so she can lure a chad to impregnate her
>>
When women enter a relationship with a man, they are beginning about a 1.5 - 2 year timeline. This is long enough to get her through pregnancy and to provide for the first year or so of the infant's "helpless" life. When women talk about "falling in love" and ask "do you love me", they are referring to a duration of about 2 years

Once that time is up it's like she breaks out of this "love hypnosis", realizes she's stuck to the dork she got pregnant by (due to marriage and modern cultural practices), and becomes extremely doompilled. Women are probably meant to switch out their partners every couple years

>What's the evolutionary purpose of being some artificially bred human cattle living under psychopathogenic conditions that no creature on the planet evolved to handle?
Finally, Human Zootechnics. The unjustified exemption of our species from the all-encompassing processes of the industrial revolution, is over.
Demographic management barns, when?
>>
>>17047256
Modern women think "don't murder children" is too oppressive a standard to be held to so they made this shit up as an excuse.
>>
>>17047256
I don’t know
>>
>>17050838
>>
>>17050819
False. There's plenty of relationships that last way longer than that and childless couples are a thing
>>
>>17047256
This is a very easy one. You see when sracy doesnt breed with chad, she must exterminate her offspring and kill herself as a matter of apoptosis. She is a failed human and her offspring are results of a failed human.
