Is it possible to block AI progress by accumulating scarce resources?
Or is it a fools errand?
I know GPUs have traces of Gold, Silver and Palladium. But how essential are they? Can they just be replaced?

There is also copper, can copper be replaced by aluminum (extremely common element)?

It's a way to cause scarcity in all industries, but AI has an infinite money cheat. Any accumulation will just make you a target for corporate espionage and theft as an easier solution.
You seem to playing from a rulebook where corporations follow laws.
>>
>>17052734
Why not target the human resources?
>>
>>17052734
I'm sure a person that is so dumb that they ask stuff like this has the personal might to accumulate quadrillions worth of gold.

We as the people, retard. Not me personally.

So are you going to pay me or what's the plan. If you mean to tax me to pay for this scheme then I'd rather just replace you with an AI
>>
this is an astoundingly moronic idea and you expect it to stump an entity with a tera IQ?

>possible to block AI progress
kek do normies even
>>
>>17052765
I meant all the Anti AI people start hoarding silver, gold, palladium, etc. In order to drive the prices up and make GPUs more expensive and economically inefficient.
>>
>>17052792
Yes? Locust have killed millions of people just by consuming their resources.

>helium isn't a critical element
>man-made elements synthetically created are in critical supply
what dumb faggot (AI) made this retarded (wrong!) bullshit lol

This is clever anon. We buy futures on a couple key materials AI needs and convince everyone to start buying as much as they can to raise prices to "fight AI". Once it turns into a mass movement we sell our own stack and short that shit

I'm pretty sure china is already doing their part by blocking rare earth elements. while they might not be involved in chip manufacturing, they sure affect the economy of the US and western countries in general, as well as their military technology...
