Given a weekly lottery where 5 numbers are drawn ranging from 1 to 90, no duplicates, how would you go about calculating numbers to play?Full dataset for maximum info or limited to last X draws to prevent equalization through rule of big numbers?Selecting from the most or least occurring numbers? Maybe mixed?Going for average difference between drawn values, or median of whole sets? What would be your method?
>>17066607Always 1 2 3 4 5
>>17066607Since any random combo can win, and prizes are shared amount all winners choosing that combo, you want to win with a combo that only you play. When you win, you must be the sole winner. It will also help to time your win with a record setting jackpot. But lots of other people play, so your strategy stays solid, but your combo may change.Good luck, Winner! I believe in (YOU).
>>17066607I'm not gonna tell you to not waste money on lottery, but at least don't waste time on trying to magically conjure the winning numbers.A proper lotto is truly random, if it's not then it's rigged and not worth your time and money. So if we assume it's not rigged, any combination is equally probable. If you try to analyze the results over some period of time, it might seem like some numbers come up more often than others, but that's only because of the number of samples being too small. The longer the period you analyze, the more evenly the numbers get pulled.
>>17066930This is why you analyze plays and not wins.
>>17066930its about 2% of my monthly income, so its not a big deal, basically im putting faith in my luck instead of my misfortune, which i also do with life insurancethis is more of a pet project for me anyway, setting up a bot that scrapes the latest results, updates the calculations, and sends them to me in discord, maybe even play the numbers, and report back if theres any successany combination is equally probable just like any number, yet there are outliers that are drawn far more frequently, so might as well trymy dataset is about 4000 draws since the 1950s, sure in the grand scheme of things its not big, but still something
>>17066930Straights don't have a slightly lower probability?
>>17066991Why would they? Your brain just assumes that because it "feels" less likely, but mathematically it isn't
>>17066610not good. a lot of people who understood probability but not evolutionarily stable strategies are playing those exact numbers in the hope that no one else plays them and they'll take the whole pot. a sa result, if 1 2 3 4 5 ever wins, the pot will be divided into hundreds or thousands of portions. the real game of lottery is to avoid numbers others might likely play, not to guess numbers that will win, since the latter does not even make sense.
Just for fun once, I calculated how big the stack of tickets would be for the Power Ball lottery using copy paper weight as a thickness That's 292201338 ticketsat 4 inches per 1000 tickets or 1168805 inchesat 63360 inches in a milethat's 18.447 miles of ticketsThat's 97400 feet: higher that jets flyLay that down. At 60 mph, it would take you 18 minutes to drive past them all.Power Ball started in 1992. That's 5616 total games played or about 22.5 inches of that 18 miles of tickets that have been played. 48 jackpot winners in total, or about 1/10 of an inch of that 18.4 miles.FUN!

My method would be to not play, as no cleverness will get me positive on this one.
play the numbers that come to you in a dream
>>17066607use the blind spot in your retina created by the optical nerve to directly sample quantum fluctuations and calibrate for a timeline where the numbers you will pick are winning numbers
