>autism is a genetic deadend that makes you unlikely to survive or have children, and that will disappear with evolution>only individuals with at least mild autism are capable of contributing to scienceso are we living in the only period in time when scientific progress is made? what will happen when autists go extinct, will we be stuck with our current technology until the end of times?
(savant) autism is just a statistical outlier in a population unaffected by selection.Even if autist have no offspring, by pure chance of mutation some other savant autist may spawn eventually. The idea of specially selecting for autism or intelligence in reproduction has afaik never been attempted, documented or successfully implemented.
autism is a brain poisoning problem
>>17066670autism is not something that comes and goes and never comes back. it's something that keeps on popping up. which is good, because the collective can make use of it at some point, if useful.like...these days. autists moved human species to new new peaks of comfort and experiencethe way randomness works is it always probes. if whatever it makes is useful in *those* conditions then it will stick. but you'll always get autists, like it or not
