Starlink has very low market penetration, their terrestrial compute build-out is still ongoing, and the orbital compute deployment hasn't even started. And then any space development in general, if it happens, ties back to them. Starlink by itself can drag them higher.

The changes support a U.S. goal of 1,000 commercial launches a year by 2030. For SpaceX, this could mean less paperwork, easier approvals and more frequent launches.

>umm this paperwork didn't hinder you for a single launch sweaty so it's fine if we make you do it 1000 times :^)
Ignoring the few times the gov't deliberately delayed things, paperwork will be a massive bottleneck at the planned launch cadence. How do retards fail to extrapolate basic math? The existing legal-regulatory framework makes absolutely zero sense when applied at the scale being developed towards. The regulators agree, congress agrees, the launch companies agree, everyone agrees except the mouthbreathers in /sfg/.
>>
>>17069914
>Abloo! delayed things, paperwork will be a massive bottleneck at the planned launch

Commercial airlines manage their paperwork like flight plans just fine. But Elon is always a special flower. As always.
>>
>>17069914
>25 launches in 2025
Maybe you can argue that early in program there were some delays because of the paperwork, but would that have changed anything?
Their bottleneck is ground infrastructure and not paperwork.
>>
>>17069914
It do be like that
>>
>>17069925
Flight plans are not a flight license and their usage is not always required. There is no approval/denial process for a flight plan beyond operational and safety considerations at the airport. Flight plans are stored in the FMC and simply transmitted to ATC for the purpose of traffic control. There is basically zero paperwork involved. This isn't what we have right now for space launch which is a problem going forward.
>>

>Amazon has been developing a constellation of satellites to deliver broadband Internet from low-Earth orbit for the better part of a decade, and the company is just about ready to pull back the curtain. It is entering a market that SpaceX, with its Starlink Internet, has dominated for the last half decade. Amazon’s debut into satellite Internet is being closely watched, not just by some consumers, but by businesses ranging from airlines, to shipping companies, to governments. Broadband Internet from orbit has proven to be broadly useful for a lot of purposes, from video games to commerce to warfighting.

grok summary of the interview with amazon LEO execs
>>
Don't get who are the customers for Starlink and Amazon LEO other than governments and NGOs. I'm in a rural area and have gigabit up and down. There are people a bit further out who are stuck on aDSL and are switching to Starlink but that's a very small market. There are billions in the third world without significant broadband access but they're generally poor so aren't going to pay all that much. And many of them live in dense urban areas, which is bad for a shared service. I don't see how the financial side of things work for low income consumers. Maybe government and NGO (which often are themselves mostly government funded) accounts are enough to support both services?

Some sloppa calculations
>Data centers in the United States currently draw between 31 GW and 65 GW of operational electricity capacity, with total planned expansion pipelines reaching 177 GW to 300 GW.
>At 250 kW per satellite. To match terrestrial data centers, SpaceX would need 124,000 to 260,000 satellites for current U.S. operational demand, or up to 1,200,000 satellites to rival future planned ground capacity.
So for 1,200,00 at 60 per launch that's 20,000 launches.

t-mobile cope post, grok summary
>T-Mobile CTO John Saw argues that SpaceX’s purchase of ~14 MHz of 800 MHz spectrum for Starlink Mobile is not the “last critical piece” needed to compete with traditional carriers. Even with it, Starlink would have only about 80 MHz total versus T-Mobile’s nearly 400 MHz, and satellites face far greater path loss, poor indoor performance (where most usage occurs), and much lower capacity than dense terrestrial networks. Building a competitive nationwide mobile service requires years of infrastructure, engineering, and operations far beyond acquiring spectrum.
