I bought high purity Sodium Nitrite for the purposes of suicide from China. How can I verify that its legit? Is taste ingesting a small amount the only way?

feed it to a frog
or a rat and test the ld50

Ingesting a modest amount would start the process of reducing your blood capacity to carry oxygen. Just take a pinch, if if it does nothing, something bigger. Soon you will feel dizzy but it will go away on its own. People ijest nitrites all the time in cured meats and the body can process small amounts.
A quicker test is to draw some blood and sprinkle some nitrate on it, it should turn black/blue.
Or mix some with muriatic acid, there should be brown fumes released.

I'm thinking of taking like 3g and calling an ambulance at the same time as a contingency plan in case it kills me (cause I don't wanna suicide until november), they will arrive with the antidote, and it will validate that it's real stuff
>>
>>17072703
you are just rationalizing the fact that you are a coward and a bullshit talking

if you want to kill yourself then just bite off your tongue and bleed to death, or jump off a bridge or high place

>yeah I wanna kms but I want to do it with this, and do it like that etc etc
excuses

dont waste public resources and just fucking kill yourself

though I would suggest if you have access to your parents, kill them before you kys
>>
>>17072703
Use a laser pointer, a black box, and glass slide. You can use the light to produce a diffraction ring then calculate the diameter of the crystal structure. You can then look up a reference to verify the lattice parameters
>>
>>17072795
>bite off your tongue and bleed to death
Doesn't work.
>jump off a bridge or high place
Survival instinct gets in the way.

Suicide is a mortal sin anon, don't do it
meanwhile suffering while alive is temporal and you can feel better in the future eventually, even if you can't imagine it right now in tthe moment or can't see how it could happen

Don't throw your life away and risk an even worse afterlife than your life now just become of some ttemporary suffering. You don't know for certin that hell isn't reason so it's not worth risking it. Almost every religion, culture, mythology, whatever in all of human history ever has it where killing yourself is bad and bad things happen to people that willfully do it. If norse mythology turns out to be true then you definitely won't be making it into Valhalla for doing something so cowardly, for example. It's just not worth the risk; better just to suffer for a while and die naturally eventually due to circustances outside of your control.
>>
>>17073299
*You don't know for certain that hell isn't real/is unreasonable
>>
>>17073299
Afterlives don't exist. You can look at dead people and see what happens to them. They just decompose.
>>
>>17073309
no, the soul is real and so is the afterlife, hence why every human society that has ever existed had a version of it due to the fact that NDEs and spiritul encounters have always happened. There is no logical or rational reason to even de facto assume that 'reality is just what I can physically see' in fact that's a very illogical thing to assume. We already know other colors and wavelengths of light exist that other animals can see but we can't percieve them as well as that other dimensions likely exist other than the four we experience. Microbes, subatomic particles and quantum behavior would also seem self-evidently mace-up and unreal to people who lived before they were discovered/concieved of.

You simply just have a narrower and more biased view of reality and what counts as valid for evidence for things than you think.
>>
>>17073379
>the soul is real
No, the soul is categorically impossible because corpus callosotomies cause the separate hemispheres of the brain to become unaware of what the other one is experiencing, definitively proving that conscious processes are generated directly by the cerebral cortex.
>every human society that has ever existed had a version of it
Means nothing, these are just incongruent stories.
>NDEs and spiritul encounters
Precisely zero stand up to scrutiny, they always fail replication and falsifiability.
>There is no logical or rational reason to even de facto assume that 'reality is just what I can physically see'
Sure, because we can see the effects of things we can't see on things that we can see.
>We already know other colors and wavelengths of light exist
Yes, because we can detect photons in different wavelengths and translate that detection into information our senses can process, which cannot be done for souls or afterlives, because they don't exist.
>Microbes, subatomic particles and quantum behavior would also seem self-evidently mace-up and unreal
The difference is these things don't exist as a result of some made up story. They're just the results of an ongoing dialogue between experiments, mathematics and theory. Nobody "invented" quantum mechanics, they just slowly developed the framework by observing the results of experiments, describing them mathematically, extrapolating what else could result from that math, then doing more experiments to see if the math still holds up. In fact a lot of people who made major contributions to QM detested the implications. And it was even like that before QM too, Maxwell was very confused about why his own equations even worked.
>>
>>17073402
the mind/brain and the soul are not the same thing
>these are just incongruent stories
there is too much similarity for them to be dismissed as 'incongruent.' Almost all versions of the afterlife have a version of heaven/paradise and hell/the underworld and souls going to either accordingly based on moral actions.
> they always fail replication and falsifiability
lol how would you even do that? Kill people over and over and try to revive them succesfully each time?
There are too many NDEs reported and too many similar ones from total strangers in different cultures for there not to be something there
>Sure, because we can see the effects of things we can't see on things that we can see
>which cannot be done for souls or afterlives
you can see the effects of souls on people's lives/spiritual states in response to their moral descions and you can see the effects of interactions with the afterlife in NDEs and how people's lives are affected by contact with said afterlife

definitionally, the spiritual realm/afterlife is outside observable tangible material reality therefore you need to adjust the scope of what constitutes evidence and your methodology to take it into account, whether or not it exists. To simply go 'we can't observe/manipulate it like we can with material stuff that we can see and touch, therefore it certainly doesn't exist' is just logically fallacious, narrow-minded, arrogant and dogmatic. Absolute pure materialism is a logically questionable faith-based claim and not rational nor does the evidence bear it out with certainty.

Therefore, it is not worth the risk suicide-ing on the gamble that there is no afterlife and doing so with unearned irrational certainty. That one descion could potentially cost you an eternity if you are wrong or send you into some other worse state of being that you couldn't imagine or foresee so why even risk it. Just live, suffer, and eventually die naturally or randomly and then find out.
>>
>>17073494
>there is too much similarity
No, there flatly isn't. Have you tried actually reading any of this shit? The Sumerians thought everyone just spends the rest of eternity eating clay in a dark cave. Egyptians thought you'd either be deleted or go to a paradise (with variations, they were around for nearly 4 thousand years). Hindus thought you'd come back a billion times to play different roles. Buddhists thought similarly, except it was more of a game of chance and that it's rigged/sucks. Etc. They're all heavily contradictory and mutually exclusive.
>Almost all versions of the afterlife have a version of heaven/paradise and hell/the underworld and souls going to either accordingly based on moral actions
Nope, this is almost exclusively a Christian/Muslim obsession, even Jews barely have a notion of afterlife, and all you have to do to get the premium package is to follow 7 basic bitch laws, or you get a punishment that can last up to 6 months, maybe end up being deleted if you're *that* shitty, but overall they care a lot less about the "next world".
>how would you even do that?
Well the ones making the claim are the ones who have to figure it out. There have been attempts at getting people in hospital to "see" shit when they're near-death, not really successful.
>There are too many NDEs reported
Yes, and none of them pass even the smell test, let alone any actual rigor. It's all vibes.
>definitionally, the spiritual realm/afterlife is outside observable tangible material reality therefore you need to adjust the scope of what constitutes evidence
Well that's just very convenient isn't it? It just gets to assert itself as real but not provide any actual evidence.
>Absolute pure materialism
No one is a "materialist", the correct term is physicalism for the sake of pedantry, and at any rate
>logically questionable faith-based claim and not rational nor does the evidence bear it out with certainty
What's your model? Can you attach a spiritual file to your post?
>>
>>17073379
>no, the soul is real

can I see it???
>>
>>17073514
>Nope, this is almost exclusively a Christian/Muslim obsession
Nta but Hindus and Buddhists have heavens and hells too (and even ghosts) they're just all temporary states instead of eternal states.
>>
>>17073514
>The Sumerians thought everyone just spends the rest of eternity eating clay in a dark cave
No, they also had an Edenic island of the gods at the end of the world somewhere that some mortals could become immortal and go to, such as Utnapishtim (their version of Noah)
Hebrew Sheol is the same as the Sumerian underworld, and both are also the same thing as Greek Tartarus or Hades; 'Hell' in the New Testament is also this kind of state until the day of Judgement when the second death (being cast into the lake of fire happens) in some descriptions of it
>Egyptians thought you'd either be deleted or go to a paradise
No they also had it where your heart would be weighed against a feather and if it was heavier than the feather your heart/soul would be devoured by Amut and you would be sent to the underworld. Like the Sumerian paradise, the Greeks also had the Elysian fields for virtuous souls and Hades as mentioned before for the viceful, Valhalla in Norse mythology is similar to the Elysian fields for heroic souls, whereas Hel exists for unremarkable or bad souls.
>Hindus thought you'd come back a billion times to play different roles
they still have a reward-punishment system in the cycle based on moral actions
>Buddhists thought similarly, except it was more of a game of chance and that it's rigged/sucks.
there are hells that exist in some version of Buddhism; Shintoism in Japan is also like this with the underworld of Yomi which is the same as Sheol/Tartarus/Hades/Hel and similarly has a river flowing into it like the Styx.
>even Jews barely have a notion of afterlife
not true at all; in the Talmud there is a lot of talk about 'the World to Come' and theories about what happens to souls; by the time of first century Judaism the Jews basically did believe in a Paradise/Gehenna dichotomy with a resurrection involved; modern-day Orthodox Jews still believe in this, it is only Reform Jews who don't

There is a lot more similarities than you are making it seem.

>Afterlives don't exist.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deep_hypothermic_circulatory_arrest
they do, people can be reactivated if their structure still allows them to function, even after dying. so technically there is life after death, scientifically proven. many people die and get resurected

>You can look at dead people and see what happens to them. They just decompose.
yes but
>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No-hiding_theorem
>The no-hiding theorem says that if quantum information appears to be lost from a system (for example, through decoherence), that information cannot remain only in correlations between the system and its environment—it must instead be stored in the environment’s Hilbert-space. It was proved in 2007 by Samuel L. Braunstein and Arun K. Pati and experimentally tested in 2011 using nuclear magnetic resonance devices.
information is never lost in this universe and can potentially be recoverd in the future with better understanding of physics and way better engineering

it's quite possible there is no escape really, from like experiencing.

and even if, you'll still instantly experience again, because you cannot experience non-experience. so even if it takes quadrillions of years to the power of guadrillion, in quadrillions of next big bangs, you will eventually pop up again, somehow. you'll repeat this life, or another one. either way there is no escape from experiencing, because you can only experience, you can't do anything else, you are an experience machine. you can only experience, thus after you die from your perspective you'll just continue experiencing something. problem is, you have no idea what, and it's very risky. at least there's some certainty here.

Let's laugh and celebrate when OP an hero's because he thinks that his absence will make the world a better place.

Also if you suicide you are mentally pathological, if the impetus of nature is continuance, then suicide is the anthesis to that, logically speaking, therefore op is illogical and mentally unfit to be responsible for their own autonomy like an adult retard.
>>
The only problem with suicide is that you aren't around afterword to enjoy your newfound freedom.
>>
>>17073908
>you are simply using some dumb legal definition of death like "his heart stopped for 2 seconds"
up to one hour. and it's not just the heart, it's no activity
>DHCA is a form of carefully managed clinical death in which heartbeat and all brain activity cease.
that is dead anon. luckily since your body is being held at colder temps it doesn't degrade as much during that one hour, and you can be brought back to life.
btw, there is no objective definition of death because humans don't even know what they mean by it.
death is a sociat contruct btw.

so, scientifically speaking, what matters the most is the working structure that manifests you. if you choose that as your definition then that's merely an engineering issue atm.

I think you have it right after looking at an earlier post.

The difficulty now is telling the detective we need the murder weapon returned to a previous natural state if the wraparound annealer is to restore bodily function (without risk of intermediary trauma)

This isn't an afterlife, person isn't dead, it's done without damaging cerebral tissue.
>information is never lost in this universe
"Information" in QM is about a distribution of random probabilities (wavefunction), it's not a bunch of clear data like ones and zeroes. You can reconstruct how a qubit's wavefunction looked like, but its measurements are still uncertain.
>you'll still instantly experience again, because you cannot experience non-experience. so even if it takes quadrillions of years to the power of guadrillion
What are you even basing this on? The universe is expanding and everything is slowly decaying into lower energy states, how are you going to "reconstruct" someone when each of their particles has decayed to their lowest possible energy states and spread around by dark energy until they're causally disconnected, away from each other's light cones?
>>
The true redpill is that soul believers die permanently while buddhists live forever.
