Space flight is some of the most mind blowing stuff humans have ever invented (at least, to me) if you think about it.First of all, you need to be able to steer a space craft a billion kilometers away like it was a glorified RC toy. That in an of itself feels like some sort of a miracle. Divide one watt by billion billion billion. That is about the power of the radio signal per square meter that Voyager 1 is able to send back to earth when the radio signal has reached earth. 5*10^-27 watts. And yet you're able to pick that up and read the data from it. That's mad that it even works. Take Europa Clipper for example. First you fly it to the orbit of Jupiter. But here comes the mad part. While it orbits Jupiter, it has to pass by Europa, the moon of Jupiter, 25 kilometers from its surface. That 25 km is less than 1% of the moon's diameter. And it does the same over and over again and it never crashes (well at least, it's not supposed to). You need to know the individual trajectories of Jupiter, Europa, the spacecraft and earth in space and put them all together in order to calculate where the spacecraft is going to go because all those different things are interconnected. And the only way you obtain data about the trajectory that its currently on by those weak ass radio signals. That's it. How do you even do that? How crazy is that.Forget the magnets and how they work, this is the craziest sh*t ever.
