If 100 billion humans have died due to mosquito bites how come we have not evolved to survive a bite yet? Hmm..?? Darwin? Lol.

>>17074808You don't get it, that's the body count despite (or thanks to) our general immunities and resistance to mosquito-borne illnesses. Contrast it to the world where humanoid apes went extinct from yellow fever millions of years ago.
>>17074808Clearly we did because we're still here.
>>17074819This. Malaria is so OP that the only solution evolution has came up with is making retarded blood cells that will clump up and guarantee you die of a stroke, but not before you reproduce.
>>17074896>oops one random skeeter just shove its mouth into your skin now youre dying of ebola lol
>>17074819>>17074901This OP. Besides, the point of evolution is not to create absolute perfection within a population. It's merely the combination of random forces selecting from heritable genetic traits within a population. Let's say a man was born 10,000 years ago with complete immunity to malaria with no downside, but the mutation makes him sterile. He has no biological fitness, and his genes no longer matter for the population

>>17074808So basically, you don't understand why K-type species that evolve in generations set about 20-40 years apart evolve slower than r-type species that evolve in generations set about 1-2 weeks apart?
>>17074808There is simply the possibility of an arms race situation between the humans, the mosquitos and the mosquitos' parasite. Each time humans "adapted", "adaptations" in the others reset the status quo.
