Is it just me or is this shit insanely difficult?
>>
It's insanely difficult. You were expecting the combination of statistics, physics, and multi-body problems to be simple?

Kardar is a brutal textbook. It’s not just you. Grad statmech is mostly a weed-out course tbqh

Stupids belong on plebbit

stat mech is notoriously hard

Probably do problems, instead of shitposting on /sci/.
Imo there are many issues when learning grad-level physics subjects:
1. the books are shittier
2. notations between books are inconsistent
3. everyone is teaching different things
4. the writers and profs tend to push stuff relevant to their nonsensical research
5. it's harder to find problem (book) with solutions
6. the problems tend to be a chain one, where you need to transform it to another intermediate problem first, possibly multiple times

It'd be easier if you're good with the basics (review undergrad stat mech), have good problem solving ability (read and apply stuff like polya books, do an undergrad stat mech problem book), and are mentally strong.

have Claude solve the problems and explain the solutions to you

...if you want to spend the full time but learn 1% of what you were supposed to

Particle Physics is becoming convoluted with continuous progression models. Researchers are overlooking DSI (Discrete State Intergration)

Chaotic Advection, not Chaotic adhesion like I said earlier.

In regards to Navier-Stokes.

Pretty sure it's applied to magnetic monopole physics and the like.

I bet it's these types of magnetic currents that keep our planet aligned with Polaris

i mean, i haven't read that one since 9th grade but i don't remember it being too challenging. i'll have to pull it off the shelf and give it another look

oh fuck will definitely check this out

great textbook though. read parts of it (the easy ones) in undergrad when trying to learn stat mech properly. haven't touched stat mech since because the non-easy parts seemed extremely difficult
