>>17076739So, it seems the green is mainly coming from interaction with other medium in the upper atmosphere of the dwarf. But, not from any nuclear reactions inside the dwarf.
>>17076795you think the sun's light is coming directly from fusion reactions?
>>17076739I always wondered, if there was a planet really similar to Earth orbiting around a sufficiently low mass/low luminosity/low temperature main sequence star in its habitable zone and a guy was standing on the surface of the planet at noon local time and started staring at the star could he get away without damaging his eyes? Like with blinking but still looking at it for 10 minutes. Assuming clear skies identical atmosphere just the Star and the position of the planet are different
>>17076821Only if the atmosphere was thick. You can look at the sunrise/sunset on Earth just as it starts and be fine for example.
>>17076739>Suns can't be green that is settled scienceRemove their funding
“The white dwarf is taking apart the planets, and we’re able to see what was actually inside that planet — the proportion of the different elements — and that gives us clues in how these planets were formed,” said Adam Burgasser,Damn I hope that wasn't Yoda's world
>>17076849Dagobah? That was a long time ago.A bit far away too if I recall.

>>17076821I think even a red dwarf would be blindingly bright white if you looked at it.Maybe a sub-dwarf like Trappist-1 would be directly viewable. Definitely a brown dwarf would be something you could look at
