My grand plan to fix /soc/. What I'd do if I was made a mod/admin tomorrow.RULE 1:No nudity in catalog. /soc/ is essentially a sfw board until you click on a thread. Part of the reason this board pushes so many people away is because navigating an endless sea of buttholes and cocks is just not pleasant for anyone except the gays. It sucks that this rule will apply to girls too but fair has to be fair. This one's easily the most drastic change. RULE 2:Contactfagging of any kind in the OP is strictly prohibited. Accounts or servers alike. Instant ban. There's always 20 retards making a new thread and kicking an old one off the board just to beg for attention. Now /soc/ is made on venting threads and cries for help, but what I mean is someone trying to advertise their discord account specifically. Preventing them from just posting their account in the second post is a little more complicated. Maybe there needs to be a certain amount of unique IDs posting before it's allowed? At any rate, if it's clear the user is just trying to advertise themselves and doesn't intend to start a healthy thread, that applies.RULE 3:No discord server link outside of a discord server thread. Instant ban. I don't need to explain this one, right?RULE 4:Those scam snapchat accounts every single big thread. Ban. You can just autoflag these because they all use the same scripts. They're crafty with changing IP and this won't get all of them but it will surely cut down on them significantly.RULE 5:Revenge posting banned. If you're caught pretending to be someone else just to flood their inbox and force them to turn off invites, that's an instant ban. No way to tell for sure how fast or slow it will be. Some services don't have this option. Best case scenario, sfw /soc/ is stable. Unlikely. Worst case, much more likely, is that nsfw /soc/ takes over completely and kills sfw /soc/. When people use the socializing board, they want to socialize. Nobody wants to wait days or longer for a single reply that may not even be worth their time. You have to consider that in order for these threads to function that multiple tabs need to stay open for potentially weeks on end on anons pcs. This works on other slow boards because using them isn't about immediate feedback, but /soc/ most definitely is. The only reason /soc/ works is because it's fast. I think you need to look a bit further than "but i want a SFW /soc/!!!" You need to consider the logistics here. A SFW /soc/ could legitimately be the death of it.
