Why do so many post elaborate longass ads continuously here for months/years, then when you message them they're the most boring dry texters who disappear after an hour at best?

you're dealing with addicts.for many soc is a slot-machine. this aint about finding something hyperspecific like the sub-80 iq retards above me think. instead it's the same mechanism as endlessly scrolling on your phone. the anticipation is the actual reward. you are not a real human being to them. you're a discord notification. a ping. a microscopic amount of dopamine. and when there aren't enough pings, they repost. they will never put in effort, they simply consume the ping, and the fantasy is over. and you are left dealing with a behavioral loop. they aren't looking for connection, they just need proof that they are wanted.
