She was complicated, struggled with pain and her mental health, but those things never fazed me. I stayed because I cared about her, because I believed that what was there between us would be enough for her to take a leap of faith, but I mistook patience for progress. Staying became less like love and more like endurance. I was waiting for her to take a risk, to meet me somewhere beyond words and almost-moments. She never found the courage, or perhaps never felt the same certainty, to make it real. I don't resent her for that, but I couldn't risk losing myself to keep the possibility of an us<3 alive.

I still like her. That hasn't disappeared just because I've become disillusioned. But affection isn't a one-way street, and understanding someone doesn't mean you have to get tangled up in the same space with them. I won't chase her anymore, because I've learned that wanting someone is not the same as being wanted by them. Even devotion has to know when to stop.
I liked giving her space to take down her walls, explore herself, let her shy soul peek out, but it's emotionally taxing work. And I've learned that you can't out-love someone's trauma, more so if they're not ready to face it yet.

Whatever our souls are made of, her and mine are the same.
Parting is such sweet sorrow.
Goodbye, my Juliet.

he was so sweet, so caring and always tried to include people in everything, patient despite my tough environment, unintentionally funny, nerdy and passionate about things that dont really matter a lot but i found that to be adorable, he was such a people pleaser i think. i could tell that he was insecure about his looks too but he was truly majestic and unique in my eyes. i didnt really know him for that long though. i probably just made this idealized version of him in my head with all the things i liked about him. he made some choices that i found unattractive, but i didnt really mind it at the time and just ignored it. i think it was because i was hoping that he, on his own choice, would eventually change his ways for me. how selfish and delusional of me, i know. who the fuck did i think i was? megan fox?

he probably didnt care for me or liked me as much as i liked him. he was probably just pretending. i feel as if he looked down on me because of my race but kept me around because i was the only one to give him attention. ill never truly know because its over.

i feel like a hypocrite because i dont know if i also really liked him. i feel as if it was the ideal version of him that i liked. i feel like i mostly wanted him because ive never had a true romantic experience where i felt truly seen and not judged for my own flaws and he made me experience that. i have no idea. maybe we both just used each other in the end to fill out the empty pieces of our lives and heart.

i miss the fantasy of us being together. i hate these feelings even more after i had just dreamt of him being with another girl. why would my stupid mind dream of that? i thought i was just starting to forget about us too. i hope i get over this weird and confusing emotions soon. i dont even know

We knew eachother for years.
Met online in some game and we started talking about animes.
I really liked her back then but I'm scared about hurting people so I take extra long to be certain that it will work out.
But she didn't wait. She said she's into me after 2 months and I wasn't ready.
She said she'll go away and come back when she feels better.
After more than a month, she actually did.
We hung out more but after a few months she got a boyfriend and told me we shouldn't talk because she liked me before.
However I just kept sending her cat memes and just continued as usual.
After a few months she replied. Apparently things weren't going well with her boyfriend.
We started talking again and after few months again, she broke up with him.
I was planning to go to Japan with some friends and she wanted to join. It was a bit difficult but we somehow made it happen.
After 4 years we met IRL in Japan.
We spent time together there and I became certain that I wana be with her. I told her, she refused, we made out and we became a couple.
We were both sickly romantic where she'd write me love letters while I'd write her poems of how much I love her.
I was already looking for rings because I knew there is no one else for me.
I got very sick though, right around valentines, and I told her I couldn't spend it with her because of it.
She couldn't forgive me for that. She threw so many accusations at my head and I couldn't take it. She became cold and mentaly abusive and I was still struggling with my sickness for months. I told her I can't go on like this.
I broke up with her.
I was hoping someday we can try again when we figured things out.
But she found someone else and told me we shouldn't be in contact anymore.
I still think about her daily after 2 years.

If I'd been better...
If I wouldn't have gotten sick... which apparently was because of my crazy workout routine... That I did to look good for her...
If I'd been more understanding of how important valentines was for her...
If I'd shown her love rather than pull back from her abuse...
If I had better friends who'd have talked with her rather than make excuses...

I tried writing her afterwards but she doesn't reply.

Twenties, male, east coast.

About me:
I'm lost.
I have no hope.
I am a lost cause.
I have no self control.
I can't break the cycle.
I need a someone who is in need of someone too.
I am always hiding behind something.
I am never wanting to be anything.
I want to find the way out.

What I am looking for:
A girl who belongs to the night.
She is nobodies bride.
She is nobodies thing on the side.
She is a wreck in disguise.
She is sharp as a butter knife.
She can do nothing right.
She is unable to save her life.
She has a favorite color.
She never quite had a significant other.
She is uptight.
She is the fluorescent light of my life.
She is often teasing.
She never says what she means.
She is always confusing.
She is often amusing.
She has a stigma.
She is an enigma.
She thinks that she knows all there is to know.
She is a bit of a diva sometimes.

I'm strictly a romantic character, I always struggled with falling in love because nobody ever managed to speak to my heart. That is until I met her last year.
She was an almost exact match with the kind of the archetype I envisioned for years and pretty much gave up any hope to ever meet.

By sheer luck we end up chatting a lot until I become the person she spends most time with; she's having her own issues and I'm there for her, coincidentally that's around the time I end up realising she's exactly who I was looking for and I end up falling hard for her.

I confess my feelings, she's a bit hesitant at first but then warms up, we end up dating for a few months until I eventually fly to her (somewhere else in Europe). We kiss, we cuddle and we have a great time, I thought that would be the start of our relationship. I was already picturing myself with her and eventually moving to her city.

Ultimately though she told me she was seeing me more as a friend, that however didn't prevent her to bring me through a rollercoaster of hot and cold where one day she was behaving like a girlfriend and the other day she was telling me she hated that I loved her and pushed me back.

We ended up meeting again in the summer with other friends but nothing could save our relationship, we blocked each other soon after to avoid hurting each other any further, by then she told me she was leading me on for attention, because she told me she was feeling loved, seen and protected and that made her so happy but at the same time she felt confused because she claimed she didn't feel attracted to me.

A few months later she ended up with a common friend (a close friend of mine I loved early from her same Country, who I introduced to her) who betrayed my trust to be with her.
In the end I had a two for one deal on heartbreaks and I'm pretty much convinced that I'll never be able to love again despite all the love I know I had to give.

>About you
Semi-NEET, burnt out on my creative aspirations though not given up on them fully, tremendously unhealthy lifestyle. I've been told I have a very magnetic personality at times, but that's becoming tougher to maintain as the years go by. Regardless, I'd say my baseline social skills are far above average for /soc/. No point in not throwing a Hail Mary and seeing if I have any success.

I am in love with her and always will be. I don't care about her flaws. I loved her anyway. She was perfect in every way for me. I wish she hadn't gotten nervous and I hadn't hit her with that ultimatum.

These little guys need you, Eeber. I've dreamt of you three times now. Sleep leaves me because I'm horrified you will be too real, I will wake up and you'll be gone again.

I'm sorry you misinterpreted what was going on, on my end. I would never talk tk you that way.

There's no one else for me but you. I can't come to you now. Come back; I'm sorry.

I don't know if I still have oneitis, I don't think he was 'the one' like I can't have anybody else. I've fought for years to make another man my 'one'. That's basically what I realized shortly after.

The cure to oneitis, I thoroughly believe, is to make another man your 'one'. You have to put in work to do this, both external, but also.. internal.
Because what made someone 'the one' has less to do with them, and more to do with you. Does that make any sense? I hope it does.

So I have never struggled with 'oneitis' in the traditional sense, I have however repeatedly failed at my own philosophy. I have repeatedly failed to make someone replace him, however, I've also realized that even he himself was wildly not what I remembered him to be. I have been unable to make someone else replace what my idea of him was, or rather, I have been unable to find someone to replace what I want, or fulfill how I felt.

At this point, I find it almost impossible to truly describe him. Or us.
Perhaps I'm not really describing him at all, but trying to describe me. Perhaps that's where I've been getting it all wrong.

I just remember how he rescued me. He rescued me from a life of pain, of being disregarded. A life of blunt force insults, witheringly cold sterility. He opened my world. Made me feel like I was who I wanted to be, I don't know. He 'opened' the world, he 'opened' my heart. He rescued my heart. I didn't feel the lack of him in my life until I met him, then I felt his absence every day he was gone. I had been used to emotional poverty. He opened life. In us, life was possible. Everything became beautiful, impactful, and he brought me to feeling. He created that space for me to come to life.

It definitely doesn't help that we were much more innocent. It gave everything a dangerous element of nostalgia, excitement, and danger.

I have long since moved on from him, but I have not moved on from me, if that makes sense.

I wish another man took an actual interest in my heart like he did. Or rather, how he acted like he did.

I have some images on my computer I still keep from those days. Back before I had this weird phobia of weaboo shit and hatred of weakness.

I thought the circumstances of our connection was erotic and exciting at the time, but in reality, he was using me and lying to me.

I had this drawing I drew of me serving him a big hot plate of pancakes with maple syrup for breakfast, pouring the syrup and kissing him dearly on the top of his head, infront of this big bright churchy window.

Even though he did most of the heavy emotional heavy lifting in the relationship, the protector, provider, etc, some good memories were actually when he laid his head on my shoulder, or I patted him on the head, or comforted him. He made me strong, I can't explain it.

I couldn't find it, so have this screenshot from a movie I like instead.
