this is mine.I wasn't really interested in fish, but I used to work at a hotel and one day I was cleaning a guest's room and they left her behind so I took her home.It's a bit of a story, but to make it short, they were using her for fishie bloodsports, there was blood in the water and a battery at the bottom and she was the only one left in the bowl, there were a bunch of other bettas in tiny containers but I forgot about them in the storage room and they most likely froze to death.I kept her at work for months, feeding her whenever I came in.However some fucking mexican maintenance worker there accidentally poured way too much of her feed into the water and it stunk and that's when I realized I should probably take her home.I've had her for maybe 4 years now. She's really hard to take care of but when I first met her, I almost flushed her down the sink in the bathroom of that hotel room. She flopped around the drain and I panicked, refilled the bowl, and I had this weird connection.I realized that this girl was exactly like me- she was brought up in a cold cruel environment, forced to fight for her entire life for her own survival and she never knew how it felt to be loved or liked, and when I almost flushed her, I almost became just another person in her life who let her down and I decided I didn't want to be that.So now I'm stuck with this bitch and I barely have the money to take care of her.I joined the aquarium gang.

I used to but gave up on it because of my cat and I live in apartment. I have two terrariums now though. One is a carnivorous plant tank but everything died and now I want to start over with seeds.
