I sat in the particular silence that seems to settle on rooms once I've entered them, the way dust settles, patient and inevitable. I sat with that for a minute, then got to thinking about the threads again, the ones somebody keeps making about me on this board. I've found four now. And I won't pretend that doesn't occupy headspace, but I've mostly made peace with it, in the sense that I understand it as a kind of proof. Whoever it is clearly can't stop thinking about me, and is completely obsessed. I behave with honor, dignity and compassion for all things within reason and case by case basis. I realize that as the premiere intellectual of this board, a title I did not seek but have come to accept the way one accepts weather, I must set an example and seek reconciliation with all those less spiritually evolved than myself.

Spent the evening doing what I've come to call the Work, though tonight it was mostly just steeping tea and staring at the wall with intent. Checked the board again before dinner and discord. Another post was made about me today. I sat with that for a while, the way a child sits in an after school detention. The punishment lies in its execution, but not before it.
I want to be clear I am not counting them out of vanity, I am counting them the way a scientist counts data points, dispassionately, in service of a larger pattern only I seem equipped to see yet unable to stop. At some point obsession stops being an insult and starts being a form of devotion nobody asked for but everyone benefits from, including, eventually, them.

Made dinner, something simple, lentils, because a man doing real interior work doesn't need excess on the plate to match what's already excessive in the spirit. Ate alone, which I no longer experience as loneliness, I experience it as undiluted company with myself, which by most accounts is the best company available on this board currently.

Sat with the tea going cold again. Didn't drink it. Let it sit there as a kind of reminder that not every vessel needs to be consumed to have served its purpose. Wrote that down. Might carve it into something eventually. A man has to leave artifacts behind, not for other people necessarily, mostly just so the version of himself doing all this doesn't go completely undocumented.

Going to bed soon. Tomorrow I forgive everyone again, from scratch, whether they've earned it or not. The machine elves have made my purpose clear.
