I used to be shy and much more introverted but over time I've become much more social (still introverted) and in a way I see myself in my friend. Over the past few months I've taken him on a drive around the city with me if I ever needed to go somewhere so we can hang out and he can go around in public without feeling uncomfortable and recently he applied for a job with my help. There's not much you can do over the internet other than like a girl leading a guy on (not even sexually just seem interested in him) and that can be all the motivation some people need (which in a way is what happened to me) however for the most part being able to bring someone with you irl is a much better way to help them.
