Tried this on a couple of javs, each with around 5 parts and 30 gigs total, size went down to 10 gigs or less. I then stupidly replaced both javs with their av1 reencodes before thinking about actually watching them in vr and not just in my pc. I just learned the quest 2 does not support av1. I guess this one's on me for not checking, now to redownload those javs.

The transcription part is actually just as tricky as the translation, and there isn't really a one-size-fits-all going on. But after testing various engines, I feel like these settings accurately transcribe the dialog with fewer mistakes. Use LM Studio with the sugoi-14b-ultra model for translation. It will still get context wrong, I'm not sure if context will ever get fixed fully. There are a lot of settings to assist this though, for example...

Man AMD gpus really do suck at video decode huh. AMD only added support for 8192×4096 in like 2022 while Nvidia had it in 2016. Before it was only 7680x4320. I downloaded a 8k violet Myers passthrough high bitrate (like 80gb) and normal to compare and the high bitrate was slightly sharper and that slight bit certainly still made it more realistic but the file size is not worth it. Also I understand the hype for pass through videos now, the colored passthrough makes it feel so realistic. The passthrough quality is kinda like a grainy smartphone camera from 2016. I can't really read displays or phones unless the text is big. If you use skybox vr and set pro-HD on it seems to remove any post processing and just let's the HW decide handle it so 120 fps is smooth on the Quest 2 too. I'm also contemplating just buying a lifetime subscription to like sexlikereal or another. What do you guys think/recommend? Currently I'm just using skybox VR (great ui and simplicity for streaming video from pc).

I just 3d printed a lens adapter for my Quest 3 so I don't have to use glasses and that's was the biggest ordeal ever. Unlike the Quest 2 with an easy notche clip, the Quest 3 literally has like only 2mm of plastic groove right next to the lens where that's all you have for the adapter to grab on to.

I've had to fuck with some things during installation to get it to stop using my CPU for those tasks.

I don't even use those transcription settings from a month ago anymore, now I usually have this preset for pass 1, and faster-whisper-xxl large-v2 for pass 2, then smart merge afterwards. It works... Alright.Transcription for a 40 minute video, with all 3 passes takes like... The last one took 7 minutes. >>1402029Also, this is a decent program for live translation. I've used it to watch Chinese Twitch streamers, but it works for basically anything. You can test it by running it alongside a show with official subtitles (like something off Amazon Prime or whatever) and see how they compare. They tend to lag behind around...
