Stop posting compressed MKV garbage and re-encoded web-rip slop (i.e. stop spilling the ISO guts). Say no to shitty encoded, ripped, stripped, scrubbed, trimmed, transcoded and remuxed garbage. Most of the internet still relies on lossy garbage that throws away crucial data: original menu structures, multi-angle video, uncompressed audio tracks, hidden easter eggs, trailers, authentic authoring and much more. Sure, that made sense back in the ADSL and 80GB hard drive days when internet was slow and storage couldn't handle ISOs. But that's not the case anymore, and people's habits are just stuck in the past. When you rip movies into generic video files, you lose everything that actually made physical media cool. True 1:1 disc image preservation is locked behind invite-only private trackers. Let's fix that here. Post your dumps, share your archives and keep the raw bits alive.

If you rip a disc the wrong way, this is what you're losing: https://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/Ripping_games#Disc-based

hi. didn't realize this was a thing on 4chan, much less something people were interested in. cool.

i got ~40 self-ripped disc releases, mostly 4k / bd. totals up to 132 isos. ripped all of them with either anydvd hd or xreveal. should be nearly 1:1, only thing removed is shit like encryption, bd live, region lock, etc. would be happy to share.

problem is, how the fuck do i? my upload speed is garbo (4MB/s) so torrents aren't really an option. it totals up to 5.6TB, so i can't really do DDL either.
>>
>>1405297
Yeah, I've got over 200 DVD ISO rips myself taking up more than 1TB. Honestly, putting together a torrent is probably our best bet. I wouldn't bother with Internet Archive for long-term stuff anyway, they fold the second they face any real pressure or legal heat.

Btw, does anyone happen to have the Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift DVD video disc to rip? I'm searching specifically for that one.
>>
>>1405301
i don't. here's everything i got: your.ls/ar4uo

i was half thinking of IA but yeah that's sketchy af. honestly i'm surprised there's any releases on there right now, i mean one of the profiles OP linked uses direct scans of the dvd art. that's just asking for trouble, some of them contain UIDs that are probably tracable.

ill look into making a torrent, but like i said, upload speed is ass and these isos are big. most of the uhds are ~80gb and bds ~50. at the speed i have it'll take over a day or two. plus, will need to pause seeding in a few weeks for unrelated personal reasons. so i guess just lmk which ones you want to torrent first.
>>
>>1405302
Thanks man, really appreciate it. Honestly though I'm gonna pass on the BD and UHD rips for now, they just eat up way too much storage compared to DVDs and CDs (only got a handful of BD discs and dumps myself for that exact reason).

But you actually gave me an idea. Bookmark this thread and just check back in whenever you've got some free time, and I mean not just next week but like months or even years from now. It's not like tons of people are gonna be hitting you up for stuff constantly anyway. If someone in here randomly asks for a specific BD/UHD from your list down the line, you can just upload that single one to gofile/DDL or seed that torrent on demand.

I'll throw together a list of my own DVD ISOs when I get a chance and post it here too. If anyone wants something from it, I'll hook them up. That way we can just trade specific stuff piece-by-piece without melting our upload speeds or trying to dump whole terabytes all at once. Plus, since threads on here inevitably die and get archived, if someone ends up making a fresh thread for this same topic later on, maybe whoever makes the new OP can drop our lists right into the opening post so people don't lose track of them.
>>
>>1405304 well i likely won't be monitoring this thread so anyone can just toss me an email: me@nullish.cat

i'll definitely be getting more later on too, maybe even getting a proper storage server or smth in the near future. just dealing with shit rn. (also gofile has a 100GB traffic limit. maybe vikingfile or smth from fmhy would be better...)
>>
>>1405304
https://your.ls/qks1i

Put together a list of my home media collection. Let me know if you want me to upload or share any of these ISOs. I also have a bunch of PhotoCDs, Audio CDs, SACDs, VCDs, UMD Video, GBA Video, CD-i digital video, and other disc formats, but I figured nobody would care about those so I left them off the list.
>>
Looking for DVD ISOs of these if anyone has them:
>Pirates of the Caribbean series
>Enemy at the Gates
>Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark
>The Triplets of Belleville (2003)
>SiN The Movie (2000)
>Jackie Chan movies, especially Thunderbolt (1995), Drunken Master (1978), The Accidental Spy (2001), City Hunter (1993) and The Fearless Hyena (1979)
>>
>>1405272
Holy shit, my thoughts exactly! Took the words right out of my mouth, fantastic job on the OP, here's hoping to a long lasting general that lasts many threads.

I've been doing this as a hobby myself, and I've just been using an old version of DVDDecrypter, since ImgBurn and InfraRecorder don't decrypt and the former started getting really sketchy in recent years. The resources you've posted largely apply to games, and Minerva seems to just archive Myrient and not accept anything new. Redump and NoIntro seems to have OS ISOs, Drivers, and bonus discs for collector's editions of games in their DVD & Blu-Ray sections.
Basically, am I fucking retarded for using 20 year old software, or is it still just as good today? Also, let's say the ISOs I have aren't entirely adjacent with what's already in databases like Redump or NoIntro. Would they still be welcomed? And where would people go if they want what I have?
>>
>>1405389
>the ISOs I have aren't entirely adjacent with what's already in databases like Redump or NoIntro. Would they still be welcomed?
Yeah, as long as it's a proper, clean/capable disc image dump with good settings and format, nobody's gonna complain.

>am I fucking retarded for using 20 year old software, or is it still just as good today?
If it ain't broke, don't fix it, but I'd still recommend switching over to the MPF frontend(Aaru) for ripping nowadays like the emugen wiki suggests.

>Redump and NoIntro
Yeah, like u said they do actually have some BD and DVD video dumps mixed in there (and other home media stuff), mostly game-related stuff sure, but there's plenty of bonus discs and other movie content floating around in them too.

>And where would people go if they want what I have?
The consensus here seems to be dropping a text list of your collection here, and then just uploading specific requests to DDL hosts (gofile etc.) or spinning up a quick torrent on demand. Could you paste your list here like these guys did?
>>1405322
>your.ls/qks1i

Just make sure to set it to never expire so the list doesn't rot. Might want to bookmark the thread to check in occasionally too, or leave an email or contact link so people can hit you up later. Cheers.

>Just make sure to set it to never expire so the list doesn't rot.

i believe it is but if not, ill be getting some more soonâ„¢ so it's not a big deal. like i said anyone can just email me@nullish.cat

also if you have some dvds/blurays you don't know how to rip, i wrote up a basic guide here a few years ago: https://www.nullish.cat/blog/disc-rip/
>>
>>1405272
Well said. This is why I'm anti-piracy and pro-archival/preservation, huge difference despite being the same crime.

>>1405297
Last thread died with 2 posts from encode fags, really surprised to see some people here finally.

4MB is top tier speed compared to the 10s of KB/s I usually attempt to download dead Blurays at for months and years just to get stuck at 60%

>>1405302
Could you torrent your folder? Would like to grab a few like
Akira/Black Lagoon/Cowboy Bebops/GITS/NGE/Oppenheimer/Psycho pass/RoboCop/Scarface
>>
>>1405603
https://your.ls/134i2

just got a new vpn so lmk if it isn't seeding
>>
>>1406010
Since its failing to get the metadata in hours ill assume there is some issue on your end.
>>
>>1406074
ugh, ok, lemme remake the torrent with mktorrent instead of qbit. just gotta wait another 8 hours for it to checksum 6TB. joy.
>>
>>1406074
ok actually tested it this time, sorry about that. should be good to go now.

Thanks for the rip, much appreciated.
>>
Anybody got the Digimon movies?

All I can find are Blu Ray releases reenconded, and besides some Blu Ray releases were upscaled by AI, which is even grosser

Anybody got the untampered DVDs?
I am looking for the Tamers' movies in their Japanese releases (which are uncensored) and got some extras, but other movies are appreciated as well
>>
>>1405322
Hey do you have any info on that Barefoot Gen release that you have?
>>
>>1406296
Ah, that one’s just the Brazilian Portuguese DVD release (Japanese dub), no special features or extras. My bad, I should’ve specified that on the list

Is there a specific name or term for this kind of copy in the scene?
a name that doesn't collide with another of similar meaning

MAME (and Same CD-i libretro core) added DVC support. You can now play CD-i Digital Video disc images (incl. VCD and CD+G) on these emus. VCD is supported on CD32 emus and 86Box anyway, but full CD-i Digital Video (and FMV games) working is huge.

Oh man, this thread makes me feel *seen*. I've been turning discs into ISOs for years... even UHD BDs, which I ended up shelling out for a few drive for. Gonna have to see if I can get my shit up somewhere...
>>
>>1406345
Yeah, you guys should always check the "Availability" tab in your torrent client software before downloading. There are only a handful of 100% available ISOs in the Minerva/No-Intro/DVD Video collection. There’s probably better availability in the Minerva/Redump/DVD Video collection, though those are mostly game-related DVD Video discs.
>>
>>1406362
Glad to have another home media archivist here with us, welcome!!
Mind sharing your collection using https://your.ls/ like other fellas? A few people here might be interested in some of the ISOs you've got.

This one is also in the Minerva/No-Intro/DVD Video collection:

and with %100 availability unlike Tokyo Drift.
