I need a Delta Green scenario that feels Y2K/immediately-post-9/11 like Splinter Cell, Hitman Contracts, MGS2, etc. I want something less bio or human and more techno.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_National_Radio_Quiet_ZoneConsidering making an operation set in this. I think there's a lot of potential.
>>97998205There is already this: http://fairfieldproject.wikidot.com/operation-better-angels
>>97998254Oh, neat.
>>97997297What would a Delta Green equivalent look like in South Africa?
>>97998424Probably something similar to Canada's M-EPIC, where it has the cover of being an anti-poaching nature preservation group. Probably has a similar dark origin too where it was used to round up dissidents and anti-apartheid activists under the guise of tracking down witch doctors and the like.
Has anyone done anything with conspiracies inside the government beyond just DG itself and MAJESTIC?I've been playing Ready Or Not lately and have been getting a lot of Delta Green vibes from the Boiling Point DLC and its Conspiracy Angle and think it would fit well with Delta Green.
>>97998452It would have to be originally an apartheid state apparatus, there's so many to choose from that it would be wrong to neglect them.
>>97997297>Thread Question:How "human" is your game's handler?I set my DG games exclusively in the Conspiracy era between 1994-2002, so there are no Handlers. Just directives from A-Cell and communication with the Cell Leader's above and below ours. And they're all human.
>>97998020i think that comes down to how you handle it, honeslty i'd say look at Eyes Only and the Cult of A from Unspeakable Oath. >>97998876I saw this getting posted around on A Night at the Opera a while back, might be of some use to you. I think the guy who wrote it based part of it on the Mariposa Lilly Organization from Ready or Not. https://feefifofin.blogspot.com/2025/08/the-minutemen.html>>98002003based conspiracy era enjoyer
>>97998876Isn't there a Carcosa link or ARG around Ready or Not?
>>98003533Oh neat, this is a good start. Thanks for letting me know. >>98004602iirc that was sort of abandoned. I still might look into it as a basis.
>>97997297So when do we think Millenium and Operational history will be released? Respectively
>>98007076>From Delta Green's ghost.io:"Hey Agents, Dennis Detwiller here. Just a quick head's up as to what I'm working on; and boy, it's a lot.LAYOUT-OPERATIONAL HISTORY is done and copy-edited and will be entering layout shortly.-MILLENNIUM is through layout and in the last edits before it's ready to go.ILLUSTRATING-I'm illustrating SHOTGUN SCENARIOS (some are attached to this post) and the last few pieces for OPERATIONAL HISTORY.-I've also just finished a Broadalbin T-Shirt.CURRENTLY WRITING-I'm ankles deep in FALLING TOWERS, this campaign book concerns the destruction of the New York occult conspiracy known as The Fate. It's great fun to get back in there with the characters I created so long ago.-I'm two scenarios into finishing DEEP STATE the March Technologies sourcebook. We'll be playtesting some soon.-I'm in various stages of writing undress on an expanded IMPOSSIBLE LANDSCAPES (for those that don't know, we left about half the book on the cutting room floor including another scenario and rules to run it with the King in Yellow Tarot), AND THE DARKNESS SPOKE (which has a role in the FALLING TOWERS campaign) and to a lesser degree OUT OF THE DEAD LAND (a whole new campaign).Feel free to drop any questions you might have here, and I'll answer them, if I can."Sounds like Millennium is the next project to hit the printer. If I had to guess, after they approve the test print, maybe a late summer physical release? PDF early summer?
Has anyone run the old scenarios from when DG was a setting for CoC and not its own system? I noticed the archive only has delta green pdfs from back then and am curious how they measure up to the newer stuff.>>97998205I did an internship with SETI (Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence) and I think they have a radio telescope there. I remember wondering if I'd get to visit it but I ended up never going for a full time role unfortunately. Definitely regret it now that I work in finance. Does seem like a fun scenario idea.
>>98008446They've been re-releasing them for the current game:"Grace Under Pressure," the Pacific Ocean, 1996"Puppet Shows and Shadow Plays," Arizona, 1997"Convergence," Tennessee, 1997"The New Age," Missouri, 1998"Dead Letter," Montana, 1999"Artifact Zero," Montana, 1999"A Night on Owlshead Mountain," Vermont, 2000"Holy War," New York, 2001Eventually they're all gonna be combined into one hardback called "Incursions"
>>98009570Don't forget they also have Jack Frost (1998) and P/X Poker Night in earlier collections which are set in that time, as well as a modernized A Victim of the Art which can be set in the 90's like the original if you change CORAL NOMAD to BLUE FLY and have them be hostile. >>98008446That's a pretty cool past. I didn't go to the complex itself but I did see the Green Bank Telescope from like the parking lot and it is Awesome in the classical sense of the word. Just a really neat piece of technology. There's also the NSA Sugar Grove Listening Station in the town of Sugar Grove which would be a good jumping off point too. Snowshoe Ski Resort in that area too. It's a wide area with a lot of interesting stuff, not to mention The Greenbrier and its Government Bunkers just outside of it.
What are everyone's favorite shotgun scenarios?
>>98015715The Moss covered Arrowhead operations
Unsure if this is allowed or encouraged so sorry if not but there is a bundle on Fanatical right now with a whole bunch of Delta Green stuff, including the God's series, Impossible landscapes, Core and Warden's guide and a bunch of asset bundles for like £13 if anyone is looking for a deal.
>>97997297What would be the best enemy for an Outlaws campaign, and what would be the best one for a Program one?
>>97998020liberally rip off parasite eve 2
>>98020202Outlaws? Various cults. The Program? March Industries.
I am going through the agents handbook, and something that I noticed in the US Army section, what is the benefit if going as say the 75th Ranger Regiment over the Green Berets? Assuming both are allowed and such the Rangers are considered special operators, while the Berets get all the professional skills of special operator plus more. Is there some tradeoff or downside?
>>98025067Roleplay mainly. From a quick glance:Rangers are trained in more direct warfare. They're doorkickers and basically made for action. You will be running everywhere, you will be in a lot of firefights and raids. As they say, Rangers lead the way. Green Berets are more like a CIA unit. You're involved in asymmetrical warfare. You can embed in a foreign culture or be assigned to counter-terrorism operations. You're also smaller and more intimate with your unit.
>>98025133it's 2003 + 23, errbody doing direct action.
>>98026663In terms of published modules, Kali Ghati would be a job for Rangers, Night Visions would be performed by Green Berets.
>>98020987Makes sense, the Program is much more connected to March Technologies than the Outlaws, so it changes how to deal with them.I'd also add that the Outlaws are kinda the only ones who should be facing off against yellow King related enemies due to the cell structure preventing the whole Organization from falling to it.
Do the operations in night at the opera have any connective tissue stringing them along to be played in order or are they completely distinct from one another? Any recommended order? Thinking about buying it
>>98030158Night at the opera has a specific guide you can use in the book to make those unrelated scenarios into a sort of campaign
>>98009570What is grace under pressure?
>>98037176Its a CoC 5e scenario that wasn't technically for Delta Green. "The investigators operate a prototype deep-sea submarine on its maiden voyage. The voyage goes horribly wrong in the Pacific Ocean.">https://lovecraft.fandom.com/wiki/The_Resurrected_Volume_One:_Grace_Under_Pressure
>>97997297Millennium is going to print this month and will be in physical form in September.
>>98039334Kickstarter backers should already have it too
>>98039864>>98039334Speaking of, who wants to share a copy?
>>98009570Now everyone one of those has been re-released besides grace under pressure.I wonder how long it will take for a full Incursions book to release.Probably 2 years
>>98043637My guess is it will be the next one to print after The Millennium and Operational History. The layout for all of them is already complete, it's just a matter of combining them and doing any errata.
Hey so I wanted to ask you DELTA Greeners something:What would you guys do for an idea involving animatronics and a amusement park?
>>98047096>What would you guys do for an idea involving animatronics and a amusement park?Maybe you could have the last remaining acolyte of a long dead cult re-programing the animatronics in an abandoned amusement park to perform the necessary movements for a ritual to summon his "god". He has only 2 left to complete before the ritual can commence. Meanwhile, teen vloggers who have gone into the park to document "abandoned sites" for their channel's have been going missing over the past 2 months.
>>98047096I've been tossing around the idea of doing a carnival investigation.
>>98047096its rather difficult cause of five nights at freddiesbut I would steal from >>98047302 by making a scenario that includes Phenomena X
Has anyone done anything with a Delta Green Whistleblower? I like the idea of playing a Program team hunting one.
>>98050679Expanded fluff says the Program generally does the usual glowie intimidation tactics and eventual/inevitable frame-job with cheesy pizza (see: The X-Files Movie 1998)Modern schizolit says that the NSA has hardware-level backdoors in all MOBOs to do the same thing
What are some of the best/worst "gotcha" moments in Dennis scenarios that straight up just kill the players with no explanation.
>>98053261 going through the portal in Future/Perfect 1. Also, if I recall correctly, the dinosaur encounter is a random roll, so it's entirely possible to get steamrolled by a literal dinosaur for no reason.

I was looking for spooky White House stuff (besides Lincoln’s ghost) and found this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demon_CatThe fuck do you mean the US Capitol has a ghost / bound guardian demon lurking around at night?Tussling with this creature + Secret Service at the same time would be a fun scenario
>>98056807>secret service tactical teams are called CATs and wear all blackcoincidence?
>>98056807>Its initials are DCCute.
>>98057429>the presidency is a satanic office held only by those who have compromised their inner light in exchange for power>after being sworn in, the demon cat serves as the president’s familiar until his term ends>during this period, the cat protects against supernatural threats and wards off other demonic forces, along with spirits and curses sent by rival nations>at it possesses nine lives, the cat must be destroyed nine times in one day or else it will regain its full strength>TikTok witches can’t even get past life #1>having a demon as a familiar greatly enhances the president’s eyesight, foresight, and political ‘reflexes’>however, the strain of being bonded to such an ancient evil accelerates the president’s aging process. This is why some men appear to age ten years in just four
>>98037361I wish there was more marine/aquatic based scenarios.
Why does Delta Green seem to attract so many thin-skinned weenies? The Discord and subreddit are both filled with them. Releases from official and non-official are filled with trigger warnings for things like "gun violence", "alcohol consumption", "scars" (lmao)I don't get it.
>>98068840>filled with trigger warningsAre they?I'm not sure I can remember the last time I opened a fan shotgun and saw a trigger warning.I suppose that's not strictly true, there was a decent recent one about killing and eating fetuses or something that said that. There are several that start with a paragraph saying what the scenario involves, but that's basic information communication. Are you confusing 'thin-skinned weenie' with 'writes like an adult'?
>>98069170he isn't wrong. god's teeth is filled with gay ass speeches about player safety and i have seen multiple scenarios with a TW sectiondg clipped its balls off a long time ago
This is the start of a Delta Green operation.
>>98068840horror is popular with those types in general, DG hits a kind of true crime hannibal etc vibe as well so it attracts them more than base coc

Recommendations for any ops that are 4 hours MAX? My table needs a one-shot while one of our members is away. Was looking at shotgun scenario 'Burner' - the appeal being that I can end with the players being loaded into a black van, end scene. Open to better options.
Found this old sketch. Cheap commission of a mutated cultist from some bumfuck flyover state, think DeliveranceFeel free to steal
Just had a gander at the early access millenium section for PICSES.Was a bit dissapointed, it doesn't seem to update any of the lore whatsoever from Countdown. It looks almost word for word the same?
>>98077940Its literally just bringing the old material from the CoC era to Delta Green's own RPG. It wasn't intended to be a full re-write. The only stuff that has gad significant change is the Tcho-Tcho. Any other changes are minor, or meant to fit the current canon lore better.
>>98078640>tcho tcho chapter>word "tcho tcho" is never used Instead they are now just a cult instead of an ethnicity or a mythos race.
>>98078640That hardly seems worth the price tag.
>>98079714Well, DriveThru POD prints of Countdown are like $42, and used original paperback copies average $75 to $100+I'd say $60 for an updated version with new art and errata is worth it for me, someone who only has a PDF of Countdown.
>>98078786IIRC that ambiguity was in the original Derleth tales. They might be a cult more than a species.
I don't think I've ever loved an RPG while hating its fans and creators more than Delta Green. The Discord is a shithole. Dennis is a terminally-online TDS doomscroller. Shane is your average fat neoliberal who will do anything to show how progressive he is. Caleb is a LARPs as a leftist and writes shit scenarios. Vince from BPG has somehow coat-tailed his condescending cop-ass into ARC Dream's circle and has decided he is the arbiter of all things DG.Tynes is cool tho.
>>98081143Glancy and Tynes have the same politics as the rest of them. Glancy seems to be the best at keeping it to himself while writing because so far I have not seen a single retarded thing in his scenarios/chapters.
>>98082372Nothing is wrong with their politics. Its being an insufferable arrogant sperg about it that is retarded.

Hey I remember a thread idea with a road trip on a long highway that takes you to many places, anyone remember that? It was pure delta green type vibes
>>98047096Let’s see what I got with a couple minutes of brainstormingVery short timeline. I don't want to deal with all the happy family people vacationing around constantly so something that’s keeping the people out of the park- either a biohazard or like a bomb threat as the official story, and you’re called up to try and slip in with essentially no prep time amongst the people there to actually clear the area. Animatronics are kinda gay and ruined by fnaf as the other guy said. They’re not scary and they’re not interesting. But whatever. Uuuhhh there’s parasitic spooky decaybugs. They can’t tell the difference between humans and the animatronics. Some Eggs came in with a recent exhibit (idk some exotic animal show or something) unintentionally, and the larvae once hatched have spread and implanted themselves into a staff worker or two, a couple guests who were noticed acting super erratically, and a bunch of animatronics (or wax museum people that’d work too) to pupate. In about 16 hours they emerge as adults. Adults need protein to lay more eggs - this is bad because people are protein. Not super inspired but it’s something and isn’t freddy fagbear
>>98102574>>98048235Yeah I’m done with evil freakish bugs and animals tearing shit up at a carnival amusement park.Circus freakshow gone wrong! THRILLS, TRAUMA CHILLS, AND GOREY KILLS! All at DIZLAND
>>98102484I don't think Night Shift-adjacent stuff is really very DG, except in the>"Impossible Landscapes so surreal wowee"sense. As much as the pricks that tone-police the game are losers, I do think there's some value to maintaining a separation between DG being a horror game where you proactively involve yourself in unpleasantness because you have to, and "odd shit occurs to you so random" settings like Backrooms/Night Shift/that road trip idea.>>98081143>>98069219Oh, you're reading official published scenarios and hanging in the official server? Why?Also you can just not read trigger warnings, instead of choosing butthurt. >>98102701I liked the Night Shift stuff but I agree it probably won't work with Delta Green>>98102484http://fairfieldproject.wikidot.com/the-third-man-factorThis is kind of a roadtrip idea, I think the scenario's quite interesting and you could do as much or as little with it as you want.

"Some good news on OPERATIONAL HISTORY PART I: 1928-1960.It's gone through full copy edit, and edit and rewrite. It's always a good sign on a Delta Green book when the feedback is MORE CONTENT, and that was basically the feedback, leading me to create more WWII operations and expand the book by about 15,000 words. It is now officially shifted to layout."
>>98078786>>98078786Yeah it was sad to see them finally cave on the Tcho Tcho, after a whole decade of resisting.
>>98106031Worst part with the new rewrite is that what: they are now a cult that just so happens to be made out of only asians? Seems like they shoot themselves in the foot no matter how they cut the cake here. Result of trying to appeal to those sort of people.
>>98107819Skoptsi: Real-world cult made up of Caucasian Russians. Totally fine to demonize cuz white.Tcho-Tcho: Fake non-human race that kinda resemble their south Asian neighbors. Totally racist and insensitive.
>>98108116When your cult’s main practice is chopping off your own dick (or breasts/labia), it’s generally 100% to make fun of them yeah. Russians are dumb
>>98102701Sorry anon TW's are really gay and that anon is right to mock them.
>>98107819The real problem is that as a concept the Tcho-Tcho are roughly equal to a half-elf sorcerer/warlock from D&D, a stable subrace of humanity created through breeding with nonhumans who have gained power through it and the service of otherworldly entities.
>>98108351There are African tribes who chop off clits. I guarantee Arc Dream wouldn't touch that with a ten-foot pole, let alone incorporate it as an antagonist. Not white enough.
>>98108351>When your cult’s main practice is chopping off your own dick (or breasts/labia), it’s generally 100% to make fun of them yeahWould you shit yourself in anger if I made fun of trannies for this too?
The real problem with the Tcho-Tcho in Delta Green is that they were using Western Liberals ideals against them.Which is a thing that happens in real life, but pointing it out is considered bad.
>>98102805>http://fairfieldproject.wikidot.com/the-third-man-factorI took this and basically turned it into a "roadtrip through mothman country" mission where the MiGo ambush the team with a smiling protomatter construct calling himself "Indrid Cold" who tries to get the cell to willingly surrender the canister while 2 greys creep up on the team. A MiGo made an appearance but only while cloaked in darkness so it was like Mothman made an appearance. The MiGo decided, after the cell managed to blow the greys' shit smoove off and use their tools to paralyze Cold, to back off and try again another time, letting the team continue their drive from bumfuck WV to Columbus Ohio.I used a lot of photos of nighttime Appalachia as set dressing and a few photos of blue-hour pre-sunrise urban centers for that. It was way more of a moody mission than a really technical one. I probably could have made the March Industries subplot cooler but it wouldn't have mattered because the hit-team's contractor van that was rolling up on the cell's SUV got it's front tire blown open with a single shotgun blast by the most paranoid Agent in my roster while moving at highway speeds before they could even try to PIT the cell and everybody inside was thrown around like ragdolls inside a barrel kicked down a hill.
>>98112094Honestly, the ability for modern Tcho-Tcho to use identity politics against criticisms and accusations aimed at them was/is an interesting angle. >"These cultists from Asia are evil and worship an unnatural entity. They are also cannibals." >"That's racist. Stop AZN hate."More interesting than the modern cult rewrite they did.
>>98102701Well I'll give that the modern horror shit is kinda trash. But eeeeh i'd rather have a Night Shift type deal, but only as a cover and maybe as a safehouse for anything from Delta Green missions. You know, now that i think about it, could that even work, just a casual place being a stache for stuff?>>98102805>>98113601I'd be down for an entire campaign of just Delta Green going on a road trip and just doing some character story development. Then try and freak you the fuck out with something like "Shadow Birds" and a ufo ripping a man's skin off. All i know though is the roadtrip idea was by someone else as i mentioned and it was going from towns or hotels full of weird shit, and even restaurants that get nastier and have a person at the counter go from nice to angry, definite night shift bullshit.
