>>97999325>Finally round up enough players to get biweekly games at the LGS>Power through Volkus Terrain and pretty pleased with how it turned out>Totally lose interest in Kill TeamI'm not sure WTF is wrong with me.Maybe part of it is that I don't feel like I'm part of a community in the same way I did with historicals and Necromunda? Like the mindset and competitiveness reminds me more of CCG culture?
How high is the chance that GW will make more than 30 of the Red Terror box?I remember the set right in front of Leviathan selling out so quick, there was barely anyone even selling the indvidual contents for it on ebay.
>>97999466>CCG culture?whats that? butyea that is a big reason but also that there is nearly no prepwork or metagame or really much difference in the game if youplay the same teams.>>97999325>TQif the rules are good, yes
Why is GW so chaotic and uncoordinated?>40k 11th edition around the corner>new KT box about Cadians vs Nid boss monsterWhy did they not make up a small little story about a squad of Armageddon Ork Hunters vs a new big Ork model, and tie it into the 11th Armageddon narrative, basically as an intro and teaser at the same time? Dont get me wrong, the Red Terror is a cool model, and the spec-ops cadians are not bad either, but am i the only one who thinks this is a huge missed opportunity?
>>97999466I need more memes like this to tell me how to kill team properly. >Rules updatesWho got hit and who got lit? I was thinking of trying to get into this a bit more but Im sort of thinking I should wait til 4th? Iwish teh game was moore about shooting dodgers and less about 'oh you climb for two inches and then as long as you're wtihin an inch you can climb for 3 more inches'.>>98000154That would require basic cooperation between different departments. Obviously not going to happen at James Gorkshop. ( i have no idea why they aren't shilling short solo or narrative stories/rules weekly to try to move product).
>>97999649I can tell you this is the first time my FLGS has ever actually denied taking my preorder for any GW product ever due to small allocation.
>>98000154Logical answer (so the unlikely true one) would be they do not want to overhype orc players and give other armys some stick.
Scoobie Knights when
Funny that the box is on its way but most news about it are rules for 40K...
>>98000154When have you ever known a big Ork to be alone?
>>98000596To be fair, that big nidder isn't alone either.
>>98002178That's fair. Maybe a Deff Dread and some boyz?
>>98002247
Kill Team Monday. My buddy wanted to borrow my Death Guard so I let him and went with my Angles of Death painted as Salamanders. I really need to get new dice. 2 times I had 5 dice to hit and needed 3s. Both times I rolled nothing but 1 and 2s. Another time I rolled 4 1s and 2s and a single 3. Just cant fight the dice......My saves were not much better.....
What's that terrain in the background>costs 100 bucks on ebay
>>98000322oh cool so either get it online qquick and sell the team I don't want, or don't get it at all.
>>98000154Because while it sounds cool to do tie-ins like that, from a sales perspective, what you're suggesting would be stupid. If you make the edition launch set Marines vs Orks and the Kill Team set at the same time Imperial Guard vs Orks, you sell to three groups - Marine players, Guard players, and Ork players. And some of those Ork players won't have enough money to buy both.If you make the KT set Guard vs Tyranids, now you're selling to 4 groups, and have less overlap failure.
>>97999325what would be the approx price if I where to split the red terror box with someone? me keeping the tyranids and the book and my cards.my friend keeping the troopers and its cards.
>>98003000If you're keeping the rulebook, maybe chip in a bit more than the usual 50-50 split. Just to talk to your buddy and see what you guys think is a fair split
>>98003000The price seems to be 100ukpounds 130euro 165usdollar, If you ignore the doissier and cards the discount is (arguably because we do not know the prices) 26%. Approximated prices seperatly Spectre squad: 42.50 ukpounds/69usdollarRed terror: 63ukpounds/105usdollartermagants: 29.50ukpounds/48usdollarso you calculate around 26% discount on those and that is what you two should pay maybe with a small shift for whoever takes the dossier.
>>98002453Yea they need to go into dice prison.
bought a box of these fly niggas because I love the trenchcoatsare there any kill teams that I can easily kitbash these into? I have no problem hunting down another kit or some bits to get the job done
>>98004012Surely loads, they could probably be made to fit any human-sized team if you have the right weapons. Check options for the two GSC teams, vetguard, novitiates, sanctifiers, hell try farstalker kinband.
>>98004012Easyest maybe void dancer. Most teams need at least new bases and things like proper melee weapons and or guns like plasma melta or so. delaque has basically just pistols mps and a stick (yea two pistols are special flamer/grav, they have two knives and a "sniper" and that strange net gauntlet per 5 models).
Rules for the spectre squad are online.
>>98004174Linkhttps://assets.warhammer-community.com/eng_06-05_kill_team_team_rules_spectre_squad-1hh9tzldof-o7cbgock2y.pdf>10* man team>4 special weapons>8 wounds, 3+ to hit guns>0AP heal on medic>grenadier with melta mine>tries to make lasguns worth usingSomething smells kasrkin about this
>>98004241I like the sniper overwatch equipment. It feels kinda like another guy hiding somwhere and you just gude his target.
>>98004012tempestus aquilons have a guy with 2 knives
>>98004241So they're really good is what you're saying?
>>98004583Not him but Right now not really. They might be fucking annoying with perma camo cloak and the interrupt shit but most weapons have some kind of heavy, they have 5+sv REALLY suck at melee and most skills need something specific like keeping distance or bunching up. also special weapons ar emore or less fixed and you cannot take melta and plasma but getting two shots out of a plasma or melta with the loader guy sounds a bit crazy IF you can set it up.
>>98004583>kasrkin>really gooduhBut these guys have the interrupt mechanic which could really help them do the things kasrkin struggle to do. Still no seek light, and they'll get brutally shredded in a shootout if the enemy team has good access to saturate, but at least they can actually pull some tricks outside of a straight shooting match.
>>98004743I don't rate the autostubber but I think getting interrupts with plasma, melta and the missile launcher all seem pretty decent.
>>98004749Yeah the stubber seems a bit of a miss, 3+ helps but it's still just a bolter with an extra attack with dash only attached. Needing to be on engage to do anything at all makes me think he's the first to be sacrificed, maybe as a distraction carnifex. Engage, reposition+dash into the enemies' midst and start suppressing them, if they're ranged that is, and with Issue Mission from the leader the guy could maybe even get to shoot if the enemy doesn't deal with him in one shot. Really strange way to want to use an operative. I think he'd have been more thematic if he placed a token while on engage that caused the suppression effect.
>>98005313I think you might just skip him for an extra trooper, no? Like suppressing everyone is surely a use case but they just kill him after that and it's not difficult.
>>98005334That's actually a valid pick, just feels sad to drop a cool grizzled gunner for another joe trooper. I do like the lasweapons with rending/lethal and ability to get devastating, probably the part of the team that appeals the most to me.
>>98005401Moving that head onto a better op. Probably my sarge, paint him up like Snake. Way too cool to just part bin it
https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/ij95ia48/how-do-you-kill-a-tank-sized-monster-in-kill-team/Big snake rulesI'm still most interested in the customizable thing, it implies some sort of points-esque mechanic
I like what they do with the mission pack, the only thing i am missing is some progress stuff.
>>98006348>pointor they do the same like in big 40k where you just have so e categorys where you chose one rule from.
>>98006348Oh we are back to Kill Team being asymmetrical? Brutes and Boss Brutes against a Kill Team running a mission?
>>98006429well depending on the adon it is brutes vs brutes alongside swarm vs kt.
>>98004174>>98004241>non-stormtrooper equivalents with a BS3+Ludicrous.
>>98007374An On...
>>98002933Did /ktg/ ever finish the required bits for a cardboard terrain / standie terrain for a game?
I had zero interest when the guard team got announced but their rules actually seem really fun.Too bad I already have 8 other teams to finish painting and 2 others I want to buy.
>>98009846List all..... plz?To be frank similar for me. The rules seem cool but at the same time annoying for the opponent so i am not completly sold (but that seems to be the case with almost all new teams that come out). Also i still have to paint Battleclade and Sisters. Gonne buy the box (if i can) mainly for the doodads, book and mr red (that i am definitly not gonne paint red).
>>98009881LegionariesNemesis ClawMurderclawDeathwatch Exaction SquadBrood brothersWrecka CrewCanoptek circleCelestiansLooking for the Stealth Suits and kinda tempted for the battleclade
>>98009900Lots n lots to do i see. If you have problems starting, start with the easy ones or with those where you can slop with blood or dirt.
>>98009973I'll probably paint Death watch first because they're the easiest but I wanna try some lighting shenanigans with the Arbites.
>>98006374It could definitely be a simpler type of balancing system but if it is supposed to accomodate everything between crisis suits and redemptor dreads, and maybe even more, there's got to be some way for them to make it possible to determine how strong one nemesis operative is compared to another or I guess they could just not, and make every match in that gamemode a competition of who can bring the biggest unit to the table
>>98010673they could just balance that with the abilitys and stats every "type" has its own table like in bighammer as well. basically they say dread has this and that stat and can get this rule or this rule and crisis has lower stats but better rules or somethin. think about it if they try to balance it with point it will always be kinda unbalanced because for ecample i play a dread for 300 points and you a centinel for 190 or so.
>>98000154a steel legion kill team would absolutely print money for them and be an excellent tie in for 11th even if they wanted to ship it with nids in stead of boyz. what the fuck were they thinking with those spec ops cadians, holy fuck.
>>98010910Exactly my thoughts. I dont even mind the spec ops Cadians in themselves, they would have worked fine as a box vs Red Terror as it is.. just not right in front of the 11th Edition which is all about Armageddon and Orks. And lets be real.. this wont be the last team of guard for KT anyway, so they could have made both, just in a different order.
>>98010910>>98010935that is exactly why they do it (probably) they go out of theyr way to NOT align 40k and killteam releases.
>>98010971even not aligning, why the fuck cadians? we already have cadian teams. Should have been Tanith, whos entire concept is being stealthy and wearing cloaks. Or Catachan, who fits the box 1000% more.Im so tired of cadians.
>>98012844Nothing i can say against that other than maybe they do not wish for a complete line of those so they do not refresh them at all.
>>98012949yeah, i know thats the reason. since the clusterfuck end of third when cadians became the entire guard. Until krieg recently. but its kill team. this is the perfect place to test soft launch or even just a one off. im not expecting a full vespid roll out or dark eldar to get an actual update. just bitching at the wind, but thats how it is
>>98013247The only thing i can say to that is, it is GW we are talking about, they do strange things for strange reasons.
>>97999325how much is the red terror box going to be?
>>98015952look>>98003055
>>98003055I am getting the box with a friend. He will pay 60/65 for the cadians and its cards. Whilst I shall keep the red terror, the gaunts and the book. Is that a fair deal?
>>98015993I mean if he is fine with it everything goes. He will hopefully profit from the dossier and red terror at least somewhat in game so max 60usdollar sounds kind of fair.
>>98016004I am the one getting the red terror and the nids, dossier and all but the cards. I definitely feel he tried to be cheap about it.
>>98016004Sorry let me rephrase it.I am getting the red terror, the gaunts, the dossier and the nid cards. He will get the cadians and their cards for 60/63 usd. Is that a fair deal? or is it too cheap for him?
>>98016037>>98016046Like previously stated the Spectre box will most likely koste around 69usdollar when it gets released seperatly (including cards) and the box has around 26% discount (only counting models not the book and tokens where the discount would increase). 70dollar - around 17,50 dollar for the discount + whatever you think the tokens cost (5dollar maybe?) seems under 60dollar to me.
>>98016046Seriously you are just searching for an excuse to charge your friend more because you don't want to pay so much.
>>98016581I was fine with it, I told him 63 usd was fine. I just wanted to see if I wasnt being taken advantage of you know. I am glad good tg has my back.
With Murderwings and wolf scouts nerf, are all marine squads just shit now? I still play death watch because i love my boys in black but i know at least they aren't topping any lists.
>>98018756No dude. Wolf Scouts and Murderwing are still basically the top 2 teams in the game.
>>98018977oh. the WS and MW players at my local were throwing a huge stink about it. The MW player switched teams
GW fucked up and added a filter for nemesis operatives on their storefront so all the options in the new book just got leaked.
how THE FUCK do i play against Stealth Suits? Starstriders player btw
>>98020385>CarnifexSick>BiovoreWhy would you ever when the other two options are available? Better have something pretty slick to make it appealing.>>98002247Rejoice. Deff Dread and some boyz indeed.
>>98019009What unpleasent fellows. DW and AoD are also quite strong right now so marine teams are still easy picks. Swicthing because of some nervs, becasue the team has the slightest chance of losing now. I may be a bit hasty but sounds like those are the people why KT has such a bad image.>>98020385>fucked upThey have the rules for the team and the other mission packs online for days now, i believe they did that on purpose.>>98020744>Why would you everI would, i like the new model even if it is a hard choice.>>98020616Over all tactics, bait them out of conceal, get really close and personal and fast (to shoot or charge or body block slowing them down preventing them from scoring objectives and giving other units time to get into position), use numbers to charge the same guy multiple times and charge with more expendable units first but do not attack if you have the risk of him dying. Sorry but not much experience with starstriders so no tips there.
>>98020385>non-walkers on the listThere's hope for my rhino and predatorI'd assume this is just the suggested list though, since they have talked about creating custom stat blocks for these operatives.
>>98021574>custom stat blocksDid they? You can customize your nemesis operatives but custom stat blocks seem not like something GW would do. Look at the Crucible of Champions rules from bighammer and you know what you can expect how this all works.
>>98021574The only reason for cars there is because those army just don't have anything else they could use... really sad.
>>98020385How is this a fuck up? Thats obviously an intentional filter so people can buy the minis more conviniently?
>>98021591I mean who knows how extensive the customizer will be, but here's what they say in their article.I doubt it'll be that detailed, but if the nemesis stats are abstract and general enough you could definitely get a wide coverage.Either way, we should know later today.
>>98021616He means it is a fuck up because the book isn't out yet.
>>98021629Yes datacards, not stats or anything. But i would be happy if i am wrong.
>>98021641It's not like I think they'll give us full granular control over the exact stats, there's just a hundred ways to go about this expansion that could let players bring mostly any bigger model to the table and a majority of those 100 ways would be shit, of courseI'm just thinking about the "example operatives" part, which implies some stuffWorst case scenario, I've still got a big dread from a christmas present 8 years ago that is all but guaranteed to fit the ruleset
My OGS has the box n all market for preorder soon but does not have the Nemesis operatives book at all.
Sold out in 5 minutes. Who got it? I got only the book.
>>98021904My usual retailer didn't even put it up for preorder, I was refreshing it every couple of minutes and the second it went online it was sold out while the Celestians and Murderwing single sets were free to order. Stock must have been INSANELY low
>>98021948Same here. Guess you are right. Not sure if i should buy Sisters thought.
So, do we have a scan of the nemesis book yet or do we have to wait for Wahapedia to upload it?
>>98022119Are you fucking retarded?
>>98021904I only cared for the book, and was able to preorder the english version from my favourite online store. German box and book were sold out already at that point, but they still had the Devlan box in english when i pressed the button.
>>98022162So it was neither kutami nor fantasywelt i assume? Probably taschengelddieb? I also just got the english book because german was soled out instantly.
>>98022475games island is my to go place, as i am located close to them. I dont trust translations of GW products, so i am actually happy people go for the german versions first. It often gives a couple of minutes extra to buy something.
>>98022499I was contemplating wich version, usually the german version is longer in stock. At least last edition.
>>98022158NTA but it's not unusual for some people to get the book immediately because of connections with their LGS that lets them pick up their preorders immediately. This time that might not be too hot a bet though considering even reviewers were apparently not sent a copy.
>>98020385I know it's just to sell more of the new model but given that they added the new Defiler, which is on a 160mm base, I'm surprised they didn't go all the way and add full size knights.
>>98021574They aren't there because they don't have a base but it should be hard to give them nemesis rules
>>98022900Should not be hard*
>>98022900Sagitaur has no base right?
>>98022878It's definitely the odd one out and feels like it's only there by company directive. It's significantly bigger than most of the other options on that list.
>>98022878Isn't the book adding some rules to create your own nemesis bosses? I would assume you can use everything.
>>98022978>createmore like customise.
>>98022998I can only speculate, but it clearly says:>Includes rules to create your own Nemesis Operatives, as well as examples to guide you>– A Nemesis Custom Builder to select traits such as allegiance, size, weapons, and special rules for each Nemesis OperativeTo me this reads like if you pick the right options to match a knight model, you can play it as the nemesis.
>>98023106GW likes to formulate strange and create misunderstandings. The fomulations are quite similar for the 40k rules to "create" your own character, but you select a model from an existing list and can then chose special options and weapons for that model (i like the rules but it is quite more limiting then should be).
So the nemesis rules aren't included in the devlon box?
>>98023608Not really, there are rules for ONE nemesis operative in it.
The only nemesis I would buy.
>>98026140Isn't that thing fucking huge?
>>98022475>>98022499It's both kind of reassuring and annoying to see how bad the average german is at speaking english. I keep having to translate the rules for people at my LGS when I'm playing with them.
>>98026353To be fair, the average german is also bad at speaking german.
>>98026280Isn't it Carnifex sized?
>>98026353The average german does not use english after finishing school ever again. Books, movies, tv shows.. everything gets translated.
>>98026140>>98026280>>98026425
>>98026385Great at arabic though>>98026454TrueImagine having to have the subs or dubs conversation not only with anime but with every movie/show in existence
>>98026486Oh smaller as expected. I thought it was a titan class monster like the squiggophant.
In my heart if hearts, I desperately want the Nemesis Operatives Dossier to give me to rules to create an Ork Rokkit Pack Ninja or a Space Marine Berserker Lbirarian, but deep down I know all I will be left with is three different types of Dreadnought.
All I fucking want is a an Ork Sly Marbo. Is that so much to ask for?
>>98026874Or a Genestealer Patriarch with frickin' laser beams attached to it's head. They had the chance to make Kill Team fun.
>>98026874>>98026979>All I fucking want isand proceeds with commandos and some ridiculous stupid thing.
>>98000213
>seen people post about using nemesis operatives with custom stats and having the book already>no answers about any questions regarding the supplement forthcomingdamn I really want to know what models I might be able to put on the tableDoes anyone think terminators might be an option?
>>98027900I do not believe the people really have the book yet. For the models see >>98020385those are most likely ALL the models you can use. Also terminators are most likely to small for nemesis operatives because it is mostly for mechs (nothing bigge/smaller it seems).
>>98027986I've been keeping an eye on reddit to cover everything I can think of and someone there posted a custom statblock of a leman russ they used in a game.I've also found a guy on discord who has the book, and while he has been painfully slow to reply to questions he described the nemesis operatives as actually highly customizable with the size cap being about that of a big dreadnought. And considering killa kans and crisis suits aren't that much bigger, terminators aren't necessarily out of the picture.
>>98028022Would be nice if thet is true but istay sceptik until i see more people confirming this stuff.
Has been any leak of the nemesis book?
>>98028022>with the size cap being about that of a big dreadnought. What about the Defiler, it's almost the size of a Knight?
>>98028454I don't think GW sent it to any youtubers, going to have to wait like a week until stores get it
>>98029685He is fat but around the height of an Armiger or Wardog. Funny enought the Bloat drone is nearly the same. To be fair, the only thing taller on the list is the Doomstalker.
>>98029685Apparently they're specifically mentioned, but fall into the same size category as the dreadnoughts as far as the rules are concerned.Discord guy also finally replied with some answers, and he says that there is, in fact, a specific size category for stuff in the size range of terminators/custodes.
Anyone tried the army painter marker? Are they any good?
>>98033354fine for what they do, quality wise. horribly over priced for the cost of both paint and a marker. AK sells one thats better for 60% the price.
Is there a chance of getting the Phobos Strike Team back? Or are they simply now too numerous to compete with let's say 5 Deathwatch?
>>98033648Thx, sounds sad but in that case i think i'm still going to test it.
>>98034363i am a hater, so take it with a grain of salt. I'll say, they are fun. Theres an ease of use and speed to them which is truly unparalleled. I brought models to my desk at work with 2 pens and painted on lunch daily. No way to do that with a real set up. My issue boils down to, its a pitiful amount of paint for the price and it feels like a newbie trap. You can buy brush pens cheaper, and fill them cheaper if you really want pens. On the other hand, anything that keeps grey off the table is good with me. So its a waste, but i wouldnt disparage anyone for using em
All I wanted was the nemesis operatives book. I tried to add it to the cart at noon and it was already sold out. Feels bad
>>98034324What do you mean by 'back'?They're still playableIf you mean getting the Phobos KT box reprinted then lolno, but you can just get the infiltrators/reiver models via other means
I dont understand this toxic lunge on the raveners.guaranteed damage they can shoot through a wall? while in control range of a different op? through the floor on vantage? i know its only 2 inches but cmon
>>98034849Lots of shops still had it available the other day (even GW itself) soooo... Heck even right now there are shops that accept pre-orders. And yes i am talking about the english version. The other languages are ready for pre-order right now at GW.>>98035410There are multiple such skills, get over it.
>team summary chart downI don't suppose it was probably due for an update at some stage?
>>98037280It needed an update but with the low interest i understand that nice anon did no longer care.
>>98037392It's understandable, but I did appreciate it. Having made resources for generals before, it is often a thankless endeavor some will take for granted so it's relatable. Wonder if something like a 1d6c page might be easier to collectively maintain for this very purpose, but the image format is a lot more digestible.
>>98020744>Rejoice. Deff Dread and some boyz indeed.Based. Boyz were the first models I ever painted.
>>98037392No I've just been busy and stressed out. Two more weeks and my deadlines should be mostly done though.I'd also need some opinions on murderwing and celestians preferably. I asked a few threads back but got no reply.
>>98037496Yea last i read that was a bit early i think but sadly i still know no one that has enough experience with either of those teams.
>>98028454There was onehttps://www.reddit.com/r/killteam/s/qNC3t6XTNJ
>>98037648doesnt help murderwing getting nerfs brings them down from dominating and put them in a weird spot>>98037496celestians i've played with and against and i can confidently say; weird team. lots of options to ignore cover, solid against horde with aoe options, and does just hordes of chip damage. token and pushing into injured makes them good for objectives. that being said, they aren't anywhere near the top. The anti psyker stuff is neat but rare in actually showing up. chip damage is fun but against anyone with heal or just a smart opponent its pretty shit. a good pilot will bring them up but thats skill not the team itself. Id probably put them in C tier, actually winning 50/50
What are good starter teams, just whatever looks cool or are there actual shitty ones?I've talked by brother getting into it with me and I want something easy for him
>>98039068whichever team looks the coolest is the one to go for, keeps him wanting to play. i wont say all teams are equal (stealth suits are complete shit) but all teams can play well enough especially for beginners. if hes got no pick, elite teams tend to be a bit more forgiving. Marines are some of the simplest teams to play, good saves, and high enough wounds let soak a bit with bad positioning. one last time though, pick who you think is cool. If he thinks they look dope, he'll want to paint them. If he paints them, he'll want to play them. and then you got him. plus if he hates the team, quick enough to pivot to another.
>>98039068The starter box they released was AoD vs Plagues, for what thats worthTheres also Strike Team Variel who are a literal weenie hut jr non-tourney teamBut most teams would probably be fine to start, assuming you have some degree of prior tabletop experience. There are certainly a few that I would avoid as a new player thoughDid you have any particular ones that interested you?You could also always try stuff out using TTS before commiting to a purchase
>>98039068It depends mostly on the player. There are complicated teams that are fine for people that likemore complicated and learn teams but are not for guys who are easy to frustrate or overwhelm mentally. Chaos is most often more complicated and more melee focusd as the loyalist counterpart. Eldar tend to be glascannons. Necrons complicated and leader focused.
>>98039129I've always loved Orks, and the Wrekas look nice. This is some kind of apostasy but I do like the general aesthetic of the Votann, I just need some extra beardy heads
>>98039310Wreckss are swingy but fun. Votann are kinda slow but both teams are fine, salvagers are leaning more on stats and yaegrs havea fee more tricks but salvager can get annoying with all the differen tokens and keeping track of it.
>>98039359Jaegers appealed to be because of their little longcoats.
>>98039398They die a bit faster and have less range but are more flexible and have some simpler nicer mechanics than salvagers. I think both look cool in theyr own way.
>>98039647Thank you
>>98039310Wreckas are a great starter team. Fun, thematic, reasonably strong, and without an inordinate amount of mental overheadThey also benefit from the recent Tacops changes. If you're ever unsure, just take Dominate and full send into the enemy
>>98039068What playstyle does your brother like? Angels of death, regular marines, are easy to start and make. All the chaos space marine teams, except maybe murderwing and nemesis claw, are easy to play. They are all elite teams though.Kommandos and wrecka krew are easy as well to play. The easiest horde team is probably chaos cult or blooded in my opinion. They have less to worry about than some of the other horde teams.
>>98026679The one from Dawn of War was a Great Knarloc, the minis are regular Knarlocs.
>>98041583There were greater and smaller knarloc minis. That one of the later pic looks like a great one and is as tall as a dread, the smaller ones are as big as a horse or bike and no bigger than a standing kroot. The the pictures used even call it a great knarloc (or one is in german großer knarloc, what means the same).

Alrigh i have seen some screenshots from the book now. Nemesis operatives can be used in pvp and pve. They are indeed categorised in small medium large and have a table of how many other operatives from your team you can use depending on how big your team and your nemesis is (for example 10 operative team and can have 7 operatives and a small nemesis operative or 3 operatives and a large nemesis)There are indeed rules to create a nemesis operative but it is rather plain, Pick a keyword (imperium, chaos, ork etc...) pick a size (this decides your base stats that apparently can be modified later. size large is implied to be 100mm and larger bases) then you pick a behaviour table (the pic is missing) afterwards weapons from a list (small medium can pick 2 lage 3, in one example for crisis they use the melta to represent the fusion blaster) afterwards come traits (special rules, the less weapons you pick the more rules you can pick) at last it is just naming your NOP.Thats all for now. Only a small selection of pages.
https://www.reddit.com/user/WeetTheGnome95This guy posted a bunch of pics of the nemesis book
>>98047621>terminator would have 35 wounds but only a 4+ save (conditionally 3+)Not perfect, but still, this is miles of customization ahead of what we've had since KT21 released. I can see how I would run all of my current nemesis candidates under this system. Definitely will see some use.
I painted his gimp mask and clothes green but it was so dark I can't even tell so I'll just leave the rest of them blue black

I wonder what could work for Nemesis Operatives. Abominant, Guard heavy weapon team, Calgar or Gulliman, Custodes terminator, Necron phantom, Destructorlord, Hearthguard and so on...
>>98049838Heavy weapons team would be wack, because they'd have 35 woundsNamed characters sound cringeAll the rest sound reasonable
I have 3 painted teams and an unpainted on the way and no one to play with…It’s over.
>>98049881Feel ya bud.
>>98049857Yea but there are Hwteams with bigger weapons or sandbags. Named is cringe but kitbash can get rid of the name and it is just for size comparisons or basemodels to modify.
>>98049951Weapon teams would also have full 6" moves and shooting which would be a bit unthematicBut then again, a terminator in this system doesn't get even 3+ saves except against small-arms fire though that's honestly good, better to have wound sponges than 2+ saves nullifying anything without piercingSo it's probably fineAnything between a terminator and a defiler is easily covered by the rules to some extent
Make their faction rules if they got a kill team:
>>98050233First off, should the team consist of only Slaugth operatives or just a couple Slaugth commanding a bunch of their bio-construct creatures?
>people buy OOP kill team cardswtf I shoulda bought the devlan box.
>>98050272i dont understand whyyou can just print the current updated cards
>>98050316Printers are garbage and expensive. Some people just like collecting this stuff.Original is nicer and better quality. Most people just don't.
What is your take on the Nemesis Operative size (counting as x operatives depending on team size) and expendable operatives like the squigs. Would you use teamsize as it counts for killops or real team size? I would say real teamsize. Ps planning on using Kataphron for battleclade, what weapon profile would represent the H.Arc Rifle best? Multimelta maybe?
>>98052224Expendable has nothing to do with operative selection, which is what the nemesis op chart is based on
>>98052240That was my opinion as well, just a buddy of mine was arguing that they do not count for killops so for example Wreckas is basically a 6 operative team.
>>98052293It's an issue familiar to anyone that has played joint ops, any team with an odd number of operatives and/or operatives with different value becomes skewed when you're told to remove a certain percent.Stealth suits, for example, if they are teamed up with another team and have to remove half their team, still have 4 of their 5 stealth suits.Similar logic will apply to nemesis operatives. The expansion isn't meant to be run with minmaxxing in mind, I think (judging by one of the ranged weapon options being strictly worse than the other)
>>98052932Well balance of weapon options isn't exactly good in the base game either. Bot i get what you mean, just in joint ops nobody cares and you can just balance with more or stronger npos.
>>98052932Unlike joint ops which just gives you half a roster, nemesis ops uses the chart to vary roster size based on the size of the nemesis so thats going to affect teams in variable ways
>>98053296Do you happen to have the chart? I've only heard some vague descriptions of what each size allows some teams to bring.
>>98053510Someone postet a reddit link with that i think yesterday.
>>98053543Not with that specific part of the rules, I don't think.
>>98053795If itis about how man operatives get replaced by what size of team and NOP, that was also there, as a spoiler if i remember correct.
>>98050233Is there enough lore for the Slaugth to justify a kill team?
>>98054141GW own the ip and write the lore. James and your mom could be in the next kill team too if GW wanted to.
>most teams are like 80 USD nowoh my god man come the fuck on
>>98054347That doesnt strike me as that horrifically unreasonable
>>98054367I think that ten infantry models should be like 65 at the most
>>98054374Yea probably but thats not too big of a differenceAnd theyre just gonna price it at whatever their metrics say they can get away with without negatively impacting sales too much soClearly people are still buying at 80
>>98053510
So how do I deal with factions that have constant perma-saturate like angels of death or the death corps guard as squishy squishy brood brothers? No cover saves seems to frankly hard counter my guys every time I leave conceal state
>>98055075Yea only option you really have is staying out of line of sight of everything you do not shoot at. In that case saturate is useless. Or just do not leave conceal (mostly just objective play and melee).
>>98055075It generally relies on melee and staying concealed. One thing I learned that helps is that while you can't charge from conceal most of the time, you can at least fight from concealed if that melee spills into next turn. How would people say breachers play? I am usually used to blooded, wrecka krew, and kommandos for the most part. I also played a little bit of chaos cult. Are breachers a different game altogether?
>>98056259>breachersThey are kind of similar to blooded. Obvious differences shotguns instead of laguns faction rules with ones per round group activation is really nice, they don't have ogryn, or chief or sniper, but the melee dudes plasma melta and have better save and shield dude is way cooler.
One game with a nemesis operative size large completed, some rulesguessing notwithstanding since we didn't have the actual rulebook to consult. Mainly concerning conceal/engage orders, cover, and obscurement, since I haven't seen anything about those having special cases for nemesis operatives but it also not making sense for a giant dreadnought to sneakily conceal behind a light barricade. We ruled that it had to be on engage and could only benefit from heavy cover, and obscurement only if it was wholly more than 1" from terrain. Was fun for both sides, I got to watch the big guy tear through 6 orks in melee and he was just 2 wounds from death at the end (and the burna had run to loot an objective marker instead of dealing that little bit of extra damage).Codicier did his best to support. Plasma gun died his best to support.
>>98012844GW loves its poster boy factions Ultra marines Cadians, our martyr'd lady, etcmy current theory is that while they have plans for other kill team factions like the chem dogs and alpha legion they dont want overlap before they drop a new army GW at the end of the day is all about money and they rather have you buy 3 kits to kitbash a unit of Athonian Tunnel Rats Steel Legion will get a kill team box but its going to be after the full army drops so they ensure all the people who want to buy steel legion buy the big box first

>>98020385>no ghostkeelI just want to have a legit reason to buy that model without making a tau army.
>>98060974I imagine it would be pretty easy to homebrew once we get scans
>>98060974There are also rules for statting out other models so you could try that
>>98060913>pic is nor mine.Is that what you are looking for? Size without ladder is around 12,7cm long 8,8 high 7,3 wide.>>98060974You can basically use any model now (as long as it fits in your deployment zone) because of the custom creation rules (the premade stuff is just based on that anyways) the option how to create your models is just severely limited (the premade dread has only the big gattling and a closecombat weapon ignoring the small gattling, the missle pod and the chestbolters and that is what you can expect from all creations even the premade ones)
>>98061670Pic didn't work, second try.
The spectre loader feels so weird. Useless alone quite powerful with the right buddy and creating granade targets with one of the most important operatives of yours. You basically never want him in engage and you never want the other guy to dash if you wanne use the loader.
>>98060913>>98061757NTA, but not really worth it, unless dirt cheap
Thinking about converting some Skaven. Which kill team would make for a good ruleset? I’m thinking Skryre stuff. Also I don’t care for classified or not
>>9806322640ks versionof skaven is mostly just genestealer cult. So wyrmblade, you could also try mandrakes for the sneaky magic style.
>>98063226>>98063299Seconded.Blooded would also be an option, as well as the Ratling team. Both allow for Ogryns (i.e. Ratogre), and both depending on your Skaven style, both could work well.
>>98063299>>98063326I’ll look into them. Thanks lads
>>98063226https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3350385730Someone made a skaven wyrmblade team on TTS if you want some inspiration
>>98060974I can see a ghostkeel being statted as either a medium or large nemesis operative so I thought it would be most fun as a medium. That way you get to have this guy and four stealth suits as a team. The weapon list even has specifically the Cyclic Ion Raker as one of the options, so you don't even have to approximate it. Picrel is what came out of the nemesis operative list when I tried making one myself. If you were to make him large, he'd gain 25 wounds, 1 control, and one would probably give him a meltagun since the model is supposed to have one, but you'd go down to just two stealth suits so leaving the big guy a bit more fragile sounds like it'd make for a more fun game. I think that's down to taste though.
>>98063226Can confirm what >>98063638 said, the skaven conversion for wyrmblade fits really well. Now that brood brothers are out I bet they'd work quite excellently as well. Human-sized operatives with a focus on guns and slipping around in the shadows is just correct.
which Imperial Guard team is the strongest?which Imperial Guard team is the most ____fun___?
WAACfags camping and abusing blanket saturate rules on shit like the krieg team during kill op missions is so fucking ass. I love kill op > obj missions but a WAAClet just sucks all fun out of those missions if you're not a tank fest space marine that can soak up no cover saves
>>98064383Strongest? Up in the air between Tempestus and Spectres. Most fun? Kasrkin with 2 or less special weapons (not counting sniper).
>>98065742>calling krieg a WAAC teamBro you could have at least said AoD
Lol. Ive lost every game I've played so far using DKOK. What are you playing to complain about them?
>>98069096The real question is why one would play with a waacfag in a homemade variant of the game that is inevitably going to cause massive balance issues.
Which team most sucks to play against? Insidiants, or Stealth Suits?
>>98071446Insidians? Why? I can relate to stealth suites. Admitted the insidians silenced weapons are kinda annoying but more a meme.
>>98071446Neither are really good if you're asking from that side. >>98072158 nails it, their silenced weapons aren't that good, constant low damage pinging is whatever. Stealth suits suck more but only because they are annoying. You end up just chasing them around, off objectives, as they run around. Easy enough to win, but an annoying match.
>>98071446Unless you happen to be playing warpcoven, definitely stealth suits. That's only relative though, I've found that stealth suits aren't actually that annoying overall.
>>98072678Stealth suits are one of those noobkiller teams.
>>98072755Ah yeah, against less experienced opponents it's a bit of a dick move. Against equally capable players I've found the games using them are a lot of interesting fun for both players though.
>>98073407how does one play against the Suits in general?any tips for Starstriders vs Suits matchups would be well appreciated as well
>>98075139They're remarkably well-designed for such a gimmicky team, so there is no general one way to win, and I'm not too well-versed in starstriders, but there are a few things to look out for>straight firefightsIf you actually do manage to goad a stealth suits player into doing this, you should just win. Use that more as a threat, knowing that the suits can't capitalize on some opportunities like other teams could.>their NOPE optionsThey have a few once a turn buttons that they can press to nullify some threats (e.g. the tactical ploy to avoid a melee fight, drone intercepts, or the sensor suite that lets them dash away when you activate nearby). The solution to this is to set up extra threats. Against other teams that could get risky, but if you just position aggressively they won't be able to nullify all your threats without ending up in one of those shootouts they suck so bad at. Once you decide to actually go in against them, the key is to overtax their safety nets before they can disengage again.>priority targetsFusion blasters are obviously big threats, but if you get the option to take out the leader he's a much broader danger. The accuracy bonus he gives in the lategame means you can see a disgusting amount of accurate 3 shots, and he makes the drones contribute to the objective.>things that are less dangerous than they seemFusion blasters before they get the accuracy bonuses are just 4+ to hit, and those accuracy bonuses need either setup time or for you to move close. Since they can't stand to lose operatives, gambling a guy on a suicide charge that can fail to kill even guardsmen is a bad play for them. You don't need to be afraid of alpha strikes from them as long as you are more than 3" from the centre line, basically.Their markerlight passive is also nothing special, so let them have it if it gives you any advantage. It's hard to avoid and adds so little to their actual damage overall.
What's the verdict so far on Spectre Squad? They seem pretty shit on paper
>>98075450They seem pretty good. They've got a pretty standard spread of operatives for a guard team, but global camo cloaks and two 'super guard' interrupts are strong abilitiesThey obviously don't want to be in melee, and anything with saturate makes them sad
>>98075503Do not forget that you can shoot plasma (or everyone else) multiple times per TP with normal/interrupt/loader (admittingly hard tol pull of in a useful way).
>>98075139you have to do what no starstrider should do. Play aggressively. you'll never get charged, so use your dog for rushing along side your assassin. >>98075343 has it with bait out the captain or the fusion blasters. if you can ever set up a trade, take it.lectomaster to lock a central objective, force them out of position to deal with him.lethal proximity is pretty great. don't be afraid to rush in with a voidsman to use the ship gun and nuke a suit.
>>98075450pretty good is right, however I'll say it. Terrible to the game. Interrupts slow down play to an annoying degree. They aren't a top team, but they are another annoying team to add to the list.
>>98004012You can probably make the new Spectre Squad, if you kitbash the heavy/special weapons.
Kill Team Monday. My Death Korp (Dressed up as Catachans) against my buddy's Marine Scouts (Dressed up as Slaneesh Scouts). We had the Loot Objective(?)-the one where you can activate an objective to score it instead of control. I had Envoy as my objective, and he had the one where he can pick up an objective and score it at the end of the game....I was expecting to get beat bad.My Chronometer at the start of the game as well as having the Order of Move, Move, Move got my troops on one flank, HUGE gains on that side and actually got me in position to flame one of his guys on the first turn and kill him (great dice rolls on my side and he failed all his rolls). He left him on the open cause he didn't think I would get up to be able to see him. He was not expecting me to get into position so quickly, but with the extra movement I was able to. He abandoned that flank and gave token resistance on that flank, allowing me to safely score my envoy on turns 2 and 3. His sniper and missile launcher did bad things to me on the other flank. I just never was able to handle his sniper and put a lot of fire into his missile launcher when I could, but couldn't bring him down. My melta killed 2 of his scouts in the middle. Think the final score was 14 to 9. Was a good day.
>>98075450they will be alright the are just not a in your face elite team where the brokeness jumpes of the page, they seem to be pretty tricky, goremongers might be a brutal matchup tough
So our group has been using a custom board made for Gallowdark but for more open kill team maps like chalnath and not the 30 x 22 but the 28 x 24... this isn't much of a problem is it?
Maybe we'll see a fancy skitarii kill team given they have a new name for special operatives.

Any scans of the nemisis book yet?
I'm aware this might have been asked again and again, but I play mesbg and told my friends if they played the game, I'd play kill team, so I've been dragged into it. I'm looking for a one box team because there's nothing that enrages me more than getting two boxes because you really, positively, absolutely need that 9th guy. I think I got enough models for the hierotek circle because I collected necrons, but I kinda want a dedicated kill team box. I'm open to magnetizing I like the chaos raptors one (minus the dude with wings, which I find hideous). Can you give me some tips?
>>98098520Chaos Legionnaires is beginner friendly and easy to magnetise options. Nemesis Claw (the other Nightlords team) is a 10 man box for a 6 man team so that prob works too
chainsword and plasma pistol or power sword and bolt pistol for Angels of death assault leader? >>98098520if you like murder wing, play muder wing. Besides IA, every team can be played with one box. pick who seems cool
>>98099524>every team can be played with one boxThat is sadly not true, especially chaos cult can not. Other examples are Inquisitorial agents, wyrmblade, brood brothers, warpcoven (i think, not sure).
>>98101731You can build Warpcoven from 1 box of Rubric Marines but you only get the basic bitch sorcerer model from that kit
>>98102409Alright wasn't sure if there is any sorcerer in the box at all.
>>98102409>>98101731what is up with the 1 box autism? not buying a the team you want and instead getting another because it is 1 Box is retarded
Still waiting for Nemesis scans … only had enough time to preorder Terror on Devlan. I would love to buy the book but I’m absolutely not gonna spend 3 times the price to scalpers … why is GW such a fucking terrible company??
>>98102536Money.
>>98102703Sounds like a lie, the book was way longer available than the box.
>>98102724Frfr no cap. Burdened with the cruel fate of no Nemesis book. Took too long deciding if I wanted the two models with it. Sadness, fuck GW.
>>98102536Personally I refuse to spend more than necessary on something that could be as easily fixed as asking $10 more and adding the extra couple of models needed to get the whole team instead of wanting me to get a whole second box. Luckily I don't have financial issues, but I refuse to give in to predatory business models. BB has a whole team for $20 less>yeah but those have 2 of the same modelSo does kill team
>>98102703Ironically I found a full stack of 6 Nemesis books at the biggest and busiest game store in my area while all the smaller ones had none.
>>98103620i agree with the top of all that, but the vast majority of teams are one box, you just dont get every option. easily fixed with a couple magnets or just fun kit bashing as you always get the weapons. i understand the hate of bad business models, and i agree gw can suck a chode. The exceptions though would make the cost way more thatn 10 more dollars. Inquisitorial agents use 5 models from a choice of 6 different teams. While i genuinely would, most people dont want to buy a kill with 40 modelsBrood brothers gives you the troopers but you get a choice between 3 champions so again, that box would be too expensive. >yeah but those have 2 of the same model>So does kill teamliterally no current kill team has duplicate models
>>98104160>Brood brothers gives you the troopersthey give you 10 troopers so you NEED either 3 more or the broodcoven, similar with wyrmblade. Inquisitorial box only has one half of the team so you need a second box or inquisitorial or retinue. Hunter clade is one of the examples you could play with only skitarii but you really WANT sicarians as well, death corps can be played with one box but you really want the extra dudes. so it is not always about the "all options but hate magnetising" bullshit. (bonus mention: they sometimes make magnetising stuff extra hard on purpose).
Got a couple of questions as a returning playerI got an old chaos legionaries box laying around somewhere. Can I get away with building a legionaries kill team out of it? I'm not sure it has claws and two handed axes to build a butcher and a shrivetalon and I have no spare bits to make conversionsAlso, super unrelated question but I've played a couple of games with blades of khaine. I used the dire avenger exarch with twin shurikens in both and the rest were banshees and scorpions. I felt the team was pretty underwhelming but I'm not sure whether it's because I'm building it wrong or playing it wrong. Could be both since it has 17 fucking pages of special rules on the app. What is your go to exarch for the team and how many banshees/scorpions to use? I also felt once you deal the 2 damage with the mandiblasters, banshees are usually better
>>98105572blades are a autism team that you want to change your lineup depending on the map and the team you are playing, but if I remember right most people take something like 2 skorpions 2 avengers and 4 banshees.
>>98104279Wyrmblade and hunder clade are both white dwarf teams so never actually made for Kill Team and more of a novelty to use a bunch of 40k models you already had. Agents and Brood Brothers are a bit shit but they were sold as the full team in their fomo boxes
>>98109348>in their fomo boxesYes yes but that has nothing to do with one box teams or anything (chaos cult is in the same boat, you could argue InqAgents and Ccult are from the out of season box and do not count but mi mi mi) fact is neither of those teams can be used with one box and have rules, that is the important point for new players that have no idea about white dwarf, last seasons releases or anything like that.
>>98109374A new player would have no idea Chaos Cult, Wyrmblade and Hunter Clade even exist
>>98109374BD was a weird season. The original post mention IA, forgot CC/BB. In classified, the only ones you can actually buy, thats it folks. Original point stands, almost every team is one box to be able to play. Murderwing is fun, pick who you like. >>98105572assuming you mean the 10 model box, yes you can easily make a legionaries team. i cant say with certainty you'll have every option, but you can definitely make the 6 you need.
>>98109641You do know they still have rules right? Also they are in the shop under kill team. So yes they could knowexactly like they know about other teams.
>>98109908searching under the KT tab is such a shit show now, with nemesis clogging it up already more than the cards. >>98109641hate to agree with the pedantic shit, but yeah, you can grab anything. non-classified teams might drop the box, but they still sell it all. and the app shows them all by default. I still play starstriders 9/10 times and they haven't been available in ages
>>98109799>the only ones you can actually buyThat >>98109908 Cult, Brood Bros and Inquisition are in the shop under Kill Team as well.

Guys I bought tau wasps and now suddenly all my buddied want to play killteam. How do I put these girls together so they are useful in both killteam and 40k?I have not played since 5th edition.
>>98114349If you bought the new box get to warhammer community and load the vespid stingways pdf or go into the app und look up the kill team, build the specialists as far as you can from the rules, that should be fine for 40k as well at least in 10th edition, with 11th right around the corner who knows but should be fine as well.
>>98113463I really would like some armies to be allied contingents and not full forces on their own. A squad of grey knights being dispatched to take down a daemon prince in the middle of a huge battle is cool, but somehow a whole grey knights army feels corny.
>>98114867Rolling grey knights into the Inquisition codex and making something similar for chaos?
>>98114923I'd be down for that. Chaos in particular seems to have a ton of possible allied contingents like traitor guard, summoned daemons, beastmen etc.
>>98114926And you could outsource things like Emporers child n stuff into that, also would make coming up with ideas for teams that do not fit into a codex but GW has a bad record of keeping care of such publications.
Anyone else been making statblocks for nemesis operatives? A TH/SS terminator is surprisingly easy and suitable for this format.
>>98120523I tried a few but it often really feels off. Like with your Terminator move 6 save 4+ is just strange, even the ones they provide, crisis suite only one gun no fly, dread only one gun, buggy only 6 move (stuff like that). Fits best for monster type operatives like demons, nids, orcs or whaetver.
>>981206014+, conditionally 3+, on 4 diceConsidering my homebrew back in KT21, I feel VERY happy to represent terminators with more save dice rather than a boring 2+. And 6" move quite fine, until 8th edition terminators had 6" move like all other infantry. There are some traits that should be added to the list though, including some sort of flight/speed options and probably a trait for letting one perform two shoot actions in one activation if they're done with different weapons. But as vague as they are, these statblocks work really well for me.
>>98120601nah, 4+ is where it should be. lots of shots to take them down but its not immortal. peak fun. >>98120675 yeah it should probably have astartes. i assume you can't give it that though, haven't looked at the block
>>98120831>>98120675I understand from balance standpoint it is fine but it juste feels wrong lot of times, Terminator should have less wounds better armour, some things should be faster, some should have more weaker attacks and so on just from the feeling of the model not for gameplay and balance reasons. I am happy we have anything at all and more saves for termies is better as pure 2+ from gameplay feeling, i agree. Just feels wrong if the only difference between a terminator, a moonbuggy and a carnifex (or titan or tank or orcboss or x or y or z) are some wounds and the weapon.
>>98121311i agree brother. take the red pill. make your own sheets. make up characteristics, make up stats to fit your view. the nemesis system is cool, but ultimately kill team is a competitive board game now. make the cool stuff you want to see
