>>98040679The Shifta seems like the most interesting profile to me. A sensor, disco baller, specialist operative that can be put into any fireteam brings amazing flexibility. The rest of the Corregidor's profiles also look cool, even the Alguaciles who can bring the cheapest E/Mitter in the game.
Man, infinity has such cool models.
>>98043023The costing of Infinity stuff is always a little baffling to me. What is this guy getting discounted for? That's a very solid kit. I guess the not having a "main gun", not that you give a fuck.>>98043049I really wish they hadn't pulled away from some of their more aesthetically distinct designs. We basically lost anime fanservice but still get stupid shit like the Black Panther suit guy here. Sometimes they resculpt something "better" that looks so much less interesting, like the original Hac Taos? Really distinct look, the ML has great posing where you feel the power of the suit because you have this waifish soldier in armor casually shouldering a gigantic rocket launcher. New Hac Taos? Garbage, basically just a chunky triangular block, they kept a nod to the helmet but it's lost in all this meaningless body detail that looks like 90% of other power armor. The emphasised muscle cording actually looks better in the original. The sculpting is better than ever and when it's good, it's superb, but the actual inspiration behind the design feels more hit and miss. Sometimes you get monstrosities like the McDonald's Morats.
>>98043023>not-wakandan outlook, big muscles and prominent blade weapon>CC16lmao every time
>>98043110Yeah I think the lack of gun gives a steep discount, and it's a fair disadvantage for him. He might want to dodge when the rest of his team wants to shoot.I forgot chain of command too. It's a nutty profile.

Coming into N5 from N3, can anybody clarify how berserk works in a Fireteam where multiple models have Berserk? The wiki has a note that says>If the Fireteam Leader declares the Berserk Skill, only the Fireteam members who have that Skill will be able to declare and perform it, the rest of the Troopers will declare and perform an Idle.My assumption is that each model in the fireteam with berserk can perform the move, but only the team leader gets to make the actual CC attack roll. At least, that's how old Berserk used to work. Or does each berserking model get to make their own CC attack roll?

>>98043110>The costing of Infinity stuff is always a little baffling to meAverage stats and no gun make you cheap. He is only paying for what he needs and most things in his kit simply are dirt cheap, wejust never noticed because they where never bundled like this before. Usualy a unit like this got useless clutter like cc20 without anything good for cc, a breaker pistol +1b or an expensive gear like 360 visor or whatever.Compare him to an alguacil and the 11 point difference is pretty fair. He could've gotten a bit more clutter though. Also CoC at no swc in nomads ferls wrong. >>98043491Everyone moves towards the target but only the team leader can punch. I played my first 300p game (second game in my life, after one 150p) as PanO (Kestrel) vs Tooha, won initiative but decided to move second and after opponent turn, I could pretty much surrender already as he secured objectives and essentially blocked almost all of my own troops from taking action. I had orders (only lost one guy) but couldn't use them. Played my turn only so my opponent won't feel like he completely wasted time but surrendered anyway with few orders left because every key piece that was either in danger or blocked in melee at the start simply died while trying to do something. Also learned that my local scene is mostly about tournament-style play and most likely there will be no place for casual play. I was also told to join the league but I don't really want to. In fact, I wanted to get back to only painting the minis and never play again. Or even give them to someone.Just wanted to share with someone but back then general was missing for longer time and I couldn't. I'm sorry.
>>98059298>Tohaa player is a tryhard dickMany such cases
>>98059298Learning how to deploy effectively, where you're neither too exposed and lose too many units before you get a turn nor too hidden away and thus cede the board to your opponent, is the biggest hurdle in learning Infinity. I still struggle with it a lot myself. If you win initiative it's almost always better, as a newer player, to prioritize going first. And I get what you're feeling too. One of my first games was a complete curbstomp, and the opponent was an asshole to boot so it stung extra. Complete and total demotivation to ever play the game again, and my minis just gathered dust on the shelf for almost a year. I forget if it was a new edition or just an update to my army that got me to look at them again, but eventually I brushed them off and played a local game with them again. I'm still not great at the game, but I've found a bunch of cool people to play with and it's been fun. It's fine if you stick with painting for the time being, but I wouldn't offload them just yet.
>>98059350I was actually afraid of going first, I expected some tricks or ambushes, plus I didn't really recognise Tooha minis yet, unlike human factions. But still, if I would lose initiative roll, I have to know how to deal with that.>>98059345I don't think he was mean, he proposed game himself and knew it was my first one, I told him that.
>>98058816Looking at some player forums I did see basically everyone bitching about siocast so maybe I'll wait until the Spanish government funds a unicool printer for CB...
>>98059298Infinity is legitimately a hard and can be a very mean game. I'm sorry you feel like shit after this loss, I totally understand why, and I won't lie to you and say you won't have games like this in the future either. But you very defiitely can get better at the game to overcome situations like this, and even the fact you're separating what actually happened from your emotional reaction when you're talking about it shows you kinda realise this yourself. You don't have to - and prob shouldn't - play Infinity if you don't enjoy it. But the very things that sometimes make it feel so mean are also what make it interesting and make it a game with lots of meaningful decisions. So if you are still interested in any way, I would try to persevere.
>>98059479After demo game I found whole premise pretty cool and it did sound interesting but in actual 300p situation I have a feeling that I simply don't know what to really do, as if I'm supposed to have 2-3 active pieces with everyone else being a support, more or less directly. I made some list before, asked local warcor for opinion and he modified it to this form: axZrZXN0cmVsLWNvbG9uaWFsLWZvcmNlE0tlc3RyZWwgYWx0IHRha2UgQzKBLAIBAAoBhwwBBQAChxUBAQADhnMBAwAEhxEBBAAFhxIBAwAGhwsBBwAHhwsBCQAIhwsBBAAJhwsBCgAKEwEBAAIABQGHDQEDAAKHIAEDAAOHDAEDAASHFQECAAUQAQIAIn actual game, Squalo was quickly disabled by eclipse grenade blocking his vision and then engaged by two dedicated CC units, Fusilier with rocket launcher was forced to go prone and others were first unable to react to stealth moving piece (also impersonator - turns out I couldn't react with sensor so that Pathfinder was rather useless) and later engaged in CC after he secured objective. Griffin had to stay prone or he would risk facing sniper rifle fire (when I decided that game is lost, I had him get up and engage sniper across the table due to pure frustration and desire to score at least one kill even if mission itself listed no points for that - he didn't manage to land a wound anyway). Jackals had no occasion to react, same as Blink (or I missed the chance, later took her out of hidden deployment, again solely to have her do anything in game, naturally she died as a result). Yamabushi was the only one to kill someone in the end, in CC no less. But it was pointless anyway.I don't know if there are any "retard proof" lists for PanO but again, one of the problems I see is how I have very few actual active pieces and once they cannot act, I cannot do anything at all.
>>98059617You need to think on your feet instead of relying on list building alone.
>>98059617I'm not a huge fan of basic LI fireteams but that list honestly does look pretty fine and has the tools to fight different missions. It is honestly tough to play stuff against stuff like impersonators, to which the best counter is just good deployment, as a new player. It's a rare and extremely strong rule.

>>98073619They could be getting it through a supplier other than CB, they could have bought stock from somewhere else that was getting rid of stock, they could just get a better margin on the Warcrow stuff they buy in than the Infinity stuff they get offered because CB is trying to grow that game more. There's a lot of things that statement could mean.I think buying it in without an existing scene isn't a bad thing for a good LGS, because it should mean the staff will be trying to push product and grow the community so you might get starter leagues, combo-discounts for starter forces, that kind of thing. But I would also say like maybe 20% max of LGSes are good lol, it's a tough business.>>98073740Very true and that's what gives me some pause on the Warmachine revival, but I am choosing to see this as a growth in seriousness for them where they are taking on a big game for the rewards of doing so. Okay, last time you told me that Kestrel and PanO in general are good for beginners. But my other question is - how to play against stealth/camo/hidden deployment type armies like Haqq? I noticed that majority of players in my city plays Haqq/Hassasins, other popular choice are CA, Tohaa and Ariadna.Damn it, after talking with some guys at shop I kinda wanted to try playing again but I don't want to surrender after one opponent turn again.
>>98079025>how to play against stealth/camo/hidden deployment type armies like Haqq?Deployment(or just go first lol). But barring that, there are "hard counter" equipment like visors and sensors(just remember that sensors and multivisors won't work on impersonation). Direct template weapons like Pulzars, Chain-colts etc. can also ignore the negative modifiers. Good since most skirmishers are pretty squishy without those. Lots of it is just meta knowledge, knowing what might be off table and how it could come in.
>>98079025See if one of the oldheads will play a walk-through game with you, or a game where you swap forces and do a rematch after. Deployment and direct template weapons are the best way to prevent fragile skirmishers going nuts on your units but I think the best thing would be to get a sense of how the other players are planning their attacks runs with these pieces.
>>98079990In cases of going second, I thought that sensors cannot be used in ARO? Also last time I faced impersonator, he stealthy went around my guys so almost nobody had chance to react.>>98080064I had explanatory game with local warcor, I'm afraid that's the best I can get. With single game taking 2-3 hours AI don't think they would be willing to do double with swapping.I wish I could get someone play with my pieces so I could watch.
>>98080736If he needs to spend tons of orders to get around you, that alone can be worth it. And yes, sensors don't work in ARO(outside of producing a hefty bonus for discovery rolls against camoflage), but at least they prevent camoflage troops to returning to marker form. And they can dug out hidden deployment units on active, which is pretty nice.

>>98082831>Because logistics are such an important concern for the mechanized PanOceanian army, Techbees are very popular. As such, they are given extremely wide leeway with their appearance and dress code. Tech-bees always carry top-notch iota-scarcity repair gear, but aside from that, they dress in a wide variety of styles. Some wear the gear of their accompanying unit, others wear fashionable clothing, others still dress in basic army fatigues - and some simply choose to wear very little.Basically high command knows they are poster girls and probably encourage them to wear such clothing to draw more recruits to the army.

>>98090877>People are priced out of 40k so who cares? If you're priced out of Kill Team you're definitely priced out of Infinity (and Warcrow, enjoy your 70 Euro for 2 horsemen lmao).
>>98090939"People" slopping up 40k aren't going to let go of the teat, so talking about them as potential recruits is a waste of time.
>>98090877The reason people like KT is because it has a much cheaper cost of entry than 40k proper.
>>98092187"Cost of entry" is always such a smug sales tactic. I know it gets talked a lot, but realistically it's just that. Cost of entry. Realiatically you're expected to spend a lot more.
>>98092350Out of like a dozen games I've played, I have managed to pay "cost of entry" and still have fun games for a few years only once.
>>98092350I think KT is pretty reasonable. One box is literally enough to play. The meta changes but if you aren't play comp games you don't really care. You are completely correct in general and all games (Infinity included) generally want further buy-in. The times I've felt most frustrated with this game were eras where like there were clearly design decisions such as "ok we want HI to cost less now" and yet not all factions got this and sometimes your cheap HI were locked behind a new release. And of course I hate all special characters whose rules are good.
>>98094574As opposed to special characters whose rules are bad?
>>98096843I just hate having to run one of the CB staff's OCs anon, especially if I don't like their vibe. At least when the rules are bad you don't feel bad about skipping them.
>>98090202>>98092350I don't think that money is the issue, but that Infinity has a player ceiling due to its (perceived) complexity and imho the metal miniatures. I play both Infinity and KT and on the rare occasions my group wants to introduce new players, we always guide them towards KT, because building and playing for your first time can be a huge issue, even for not mentally handicapped people. If only CB hand't bought into their resin technology, they could be doing hard plastic now...
>>98096843Yes.
>>98097272I don't think that it's mainly problem of materials as metal minis are actually little easier, being "fixed" pose and all that. I would say that the main problem lies with rules and how new player must keep in mind a lot more stuff when starting and is still at huge risk of being rolled over by more experienced players. If you play your first real games, lose in single turn (either wiped or effectively blocked from doing anything) and being told that's "how it is" and "you lose your first 50 games, that's normal", you kinda lose all desire to keep going.Code One was good idea but when I approached local community in my city, everyone was basically saying "it's simplified so it's bad, play REAL game" so it kinda lost point. Or they were keen on having new players to bully, I don't know.

>>98077988New Morats looking SICK
>>98099104Every edition change and balance pass since early 2e (2012), Wyrd announce they are streamlining and simplifying and making the game more accessible, justified by "oops we broke the game with our final release wave, because we have finally learned to write efficient statblocks for our system."Then one release cycle later they publish over-powered under-playtested characters with paragraphs of unique rules text that directly contravene those specific stated intents.Additionally there are now three or four times as many statblocks in the game, and fewer tournament players than ever, so the vectors to build broken combos multiply with every release wave and get checked less thoroughly.
>>98102650Ah, the "everything is broken, so it's balanced" approach.

So now Combined holds a seat in O-12 and the open hostilities have turned into another Cold War. Also Achilles and some other Aleph aspects jumped ship and now lead a human faction that's part of Combined Army.
>>98103856NTA but from lore perspective, it is quite frightening that EI can easily corrupt every single named character (except maybe Ariadna) by mendling with their Cube. Imagine CA stealing Jannu, SunTze or Saladin.
>>98103915Just don't get sepsitorized. Or see the light of EI. Is that ez.
>>98103856Wasn't the CA overwhelmingly more powerful than the entirety of the Human Sphere? What's the incentive for it to play nice instead of just continuing the conquest?Crazy that ALEPH lost Achilles though.
>>98104744It's more powerful in pretty much every regard, but most of its power is far away elsewhere in the galaxy and wormhole travel from there is wasteful. Second of all, it doesn't need to owerpower humans for resources, it's more interested about information. And lastly, it can afford to play the long game. If humanity doesn't play nice, it can start another war or five in the next few centuries.

Varuna Strike Force fucking when, CB?
So they killed the Lunakhod, looted it's corpse and strapped its profiles to a Tsyklon but only in Tunguska and Vanilla. And just straight up removed the Tsyklon from Corregidor. Oh and gotta sell them Alguaciles and Mobile Brigada so have them everywhere I guess. What the fuck is your problem CB?

How's Warcrow doing these days? There's enough models racking up that I would be happy to own, but still no faction identity that I'm stoked to play as.

I have to admit - when I played demo game (it was that two player operation with O12 and CA) and watched some promo ones on CB channel, I was quite interested but now that I saw actual game in action, I'm rather confused and little disappointed. It's not about 2-3 guys move forward with rest supporting them, it's more like having to guess locations of tons of hidden deployment troops, impersonators, cheap suicide irregulars, smoke/eclipse everywhere, can't even use hacking because almost everyone is non-hackable, whoever wins initiative wins the game itself. I wish that game would have some pve rules or something similar so I could at least pretend to play on my own. I'm scared of local community.
>>98124786#justPolishThings
>>98124790Why exactly Polish?
>>98124786> can't even use hacking because almost everyone is non-hackableWhat is Spotlight. What is not only playing against Ariadna.
>>98124795They have sweaty reputation.
>>98124802But even in other armies there are tons of light/medium infantry or skirmishers that are simply not hackable. Yet I admit I had no idea that spotlight can be used on every target.

Reacting pieces can be picked one by one and they cannot cover everything, can be avoided altogether (smoke, stealth, etc), are at disadvantage during fire exchange so they either are hidden/prone (and cannot react) or exposed and dies instantly (yes, I heard about Goonhammer site being bad but they openly state that almost any ARO piece WILL die during reactive phase if they are exposed, except few dedicated ones). There are missions where key elements like consoles can be activated only once so first player with good table coverage (like infiltrators) can simply secure all objectives without a fight.
>>98124795Poland is known for Spamming a billion USAriadna Grunts back when you werent limited to 15 troops. They are known for tables with giant towers in the corner so Snipers warp the shit out of the game.
>>98124870>But active player have massive advantage that allows him to gain enough momentum to pretty much secure win in almost any caseI mean, tournaments are not won by the player who just went first the most. Is there FPA? Yes, especially on any kill-focused mission. Does it dictate win in "almost any case"? No.

Maybe I should simply gift all my minis to someone and forget about playing? Seems like my local community is very competitive focused from what I see, I don't really want to keep losing against tournament veterans.
>>98124717Nah, senpai. Are you serious? I base my identity on being a walking submarine. Get cut.
>>98125374Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it like TAGs like Cutter require entire list to be built around them AND are easily to disable with E/M weapons and/or hacking?

Question while I'm browsing for models: How have flying vehicles been received? In general I don't see them talked about much but I noticed the release cadence has been steady. Damn near all of the different factions seem to have theirs, plus extra. Level with me; expensive harassers or much more than meets the eye?

>>98129543Well, you have one Mk5 with Forward Deployment 4", one Mk1 engineer and Probot hacker. I just don't know if 4 orders is enough for them to do anything meaningful beyond turn 1 button push.
>>98129721I could move the flash pulse remotes to group 2.

I've been out of the loop for a while, but I've been wanting to get the "new" OSS minis for a while now. Are they revamping their look now? Is the old pack with the "old" (N4? N5? Not the N2 one) Asuras gone now? Are any OSS minis going out of production now with this new box?
>>98133622I have a really obvious LT, even if I take 2 orders out of group 1 there are still functionally 10 orders there.
>>98040669Infinity is a skirmish game right? roughly how many models do you need to field to play a game?
>>9813761110-20, though to take more than 15 models some need to be support robots and such that act with their operators.
>>98136478I dunno if you can get the new box still or not. Certainly you still can via 3rd party in my country. There are some resculpts, like posthumans in the expansion I think, but I don't think anything is being retired. Dakinis got renamed, profiles got updated.
Still trying to find some good PanO options to play, is this list okay?aSJ2YXJ1bmEtaW1tZWRpYXRlLXJlYWN0aW9uLWRpdmlzaW9uE1ZhcnVuYSB0ZXN0IGxpc3QgQzGBLAIBAAsBAQEKAAIBAQkAAwEBAQAEAQEBAAUwAQYABoTAAQIABw8BAwAIJQEBAAmGcwEDAAoNAQYAC4S5AQQAAgAFAYTGAQgAAoTGAQgAA4TGAQgABCYBAgAFEAECAA%3D%3D
Got a Cutter order that just came in today, turns out it's the original Code One box as a nice surprise. These were some of the first castings of the Tag; I feel privileged. Already got him on the cutting mat to get the preassembly done right after he's arrived. Lovely sculpt!!
>>98141696Also just pretty good to not get it siocast.
>>98142413Yeah, I getcha; cutter is chunky in all the right places as well. I'm a Unicool appreciator, but Siocast is so bloody awful to clean it makes metal minis a piece of cake to prep.
>>98142612Depends on the model, if the seams are on flat surfaces all you need is a sharp knife and some patience, if they're all gribbly you need lots of patience.
>the recent profusion of Optimates means that you can get to 288 points using nothing but themI'm pretty sure it'd be a shit list, but you can cover a surprising number of bases.>Maximus as TAG>Claire Lazhari as Doctor, with Kyra Sharma as Paramedic backup>Johnny Kao as Engineer>Pilot-X (Speed's brother) as Hacker>Dart, her Sharvara, and Kyra able to Forward Deploy/Combat Jump
>>98141696Prime unit you got there. I decided to look it up what makes them special and it does seem like a nice rambo candidate.
>>98144086I need to see the optimate models to know whether I like them or not. They need to look like the worst OCs imaginable, like just straight up your 12 year old self's D&D character. The new OSS profiles look strong as fuck. I think it will be difficult to listbuild because nothing is cheap, but these guys can do some crazy shit. Look at this shit. She basically just fucking flies.
Also man, are all the aircraft things this strong? This is a crazy profile. You can legit run 3-4 pseudo-TAGs as your attack pieces with these guys.
>>98144876I was wondering that myself but no replies yet >>98127842
>>98145070I was looking at some of the other ones. They're all like super drop troops but the OSS one looks particularly nasty. It's just tough, right? ARM 3 BTS 6 STR 3, transforms into the pilot who you can theoretically heal back up. Decent gunfighter. So you can run this and some VITA 2/NWI guys or Maximus and you can still squeeze a bunch of orders and defensive profiles into your list.Like I think they improved OSS's shell game too, a lot of the infiltrators got some interesting options and there's more minelayer, but they can also just kinda throw hands now. Reminds me a bit of Starmada.
If I have Military Orders, some WinterFor, Varuna and Kestrel minis painted, plus those Sandtrap Japanese ones I forgot their name (along with their expansion packs), who should I play against Haquislam, CA or Tohaa? I don't want to give up on Infinity just yet but these are the most likely opponents I would face in my city. And probably tournaments veterans.
>>98145626I think Kestrel is really good, their fireteam spread is meaty, but Varuna and Winter4 are just so fucking tops aesthetically. At this point you're probably going to have a really nice Vanill-O list. >tournament vets The best guys to ask this question to, if you can pin them down before you start assembling your army.
>remember I had a desire to own this model>it's really fucking hard to find Why do I want rare things? I don't even play Winterfor.

>>98148081Dammit, I just bought a PanO tag, and I feel like picking this one up too. Is it Sio or Uni?
>>98148092Unicool.
>>98148092If the store page says thermoplastic, it should be siocast. If it says plastic resin, it should be unicool.

>>98149865> big robotsPano.> oversexualized womenIdk, pano only has a tech-bee, but you don't need anything else realistically. Tag pilots used to be oversexualized as a rule of thumb, see jsa, haqq and yu jing ones, and ofc the lizard pilot.
>>98124872>USAriadnaAnyone could do that. Real Warsaw pros spammed 30 models in NCA and Combined Army.
>>98118102>for the longest time Corregidor was the only one without Meteor>now Meteor is available, but at the cost of TsyklonNot like this hombres
>>98146188Sick paint job, but I am one of those weirdos that actually likes the stock colorscheme. Some madman painted up all of his YuJing that way and it looks sweet.
>>98124786You do have advantages in active turn ie going first, but it is absolutely not a guarantee of winning the game. I recently played two back to back games where I got first turn but failed to do much with it and got dumpster-ed when my opp counter-attacked.Some missions really favor going 2nd because you get the final chance to press objective buttons. Going 2nd lets you see where the big enemy threat pieces are and deploy around them. If you go first against a good player you will often find their troops hiding in places that are very order expensive for your attackers to get to, and midfield camo defenses or cheap AROs exactly where you would need to push.It is a game where you need to play your whole bag of tricks to win. Like any game with a big skill ceiling you're going to get those tricks played on you a lot and lose games before you learn. If you're not up for that Infinity is not the game for you. If you do like honing your game instincts and strategy, then it's a fantastic game.
>>98153594>and Combined ArmyThe what? How?
