That yellow trim was an absolute bitch to paint with '90s citadel acrylics no wonder they switched to make them a metallic (even though it looked way worse) later on edition.

I'm sure Russ Nicholson's Johnny drawing is in here somewhere, but he's not the only one - not even the only official GW artist - who has taken a stab at portraying him.

Yeah, one of the Scrungaloid sculpts.

Since we're posting pics, here's the Dark Eldar Archon I've been working on lately, he's almost finished, just some clean up here and there and the basing to do.

Are 4/5th edition wardancers treated as individual models despite not being skirmishers?

Might be in an FAQ from one of these old WDs. Its been way too long for me to remember directly sorry.

Stripped my 4th edition army and corrected some of my questionable modelling decisions from back then.
Finally painted a squad and captain (and a used emperor's champion just because I love the model)

Gold trim was a massive improvement.
Frankly, company colours were a mistake and are 90% of the reason these guys aren't storm lords.

My progress for the day. Sculpting tubes is killing my wrist.

Kino. That's a clean paint job. Is the EC metal or finecast? If he's finecast that's a hell of a clean up job.

>Frankly, company colours were a mistake and are 90% of the reason these guys aren't storm lords.

Agreed. The design of MkVIII Jes Goodwin marine is perfect except for the adoption of the shoulder trims IMO. Beakie-style clean pad + studded pad looks way better and makes sense to compress iconography to one shoulder.

>>98045392
Thanks. It's metal, I haven't yet experienced working with finecast and I'm in no hurry to try.

>2000AD guys seemed to have no hard feelings despite probably being the ones that 40k ripped off the most
Things were easier back then, it seems.
Though, of course, not without a fact that 2000 AD guys seemed to be pretty laid back. Pat Mills later even created Redeemer for WH40K, which can be called straight away collab between 2000 AD and 40K.

Nemesis the Warlock also made me realize that people were right that 40k is just how British people view Catholicism, because Torquemada in Nemesis is literally just that

Great work on the cleanup, it's fascinating to watch the progress.
I really love the look of the Mk V, I wish there was a good modular set for it I could use with my classic RTB-01s and 2nd edition stuff. It just exemplifies that barely holding together look of some of the early 40k power armour art.

For me in particular it'd be great as "my dudes" space marines are specifically a bunch of stuck in the middle of bumfuck no-where sector, isolated from much of the Imperium (so I can just easily ignore the main "plot" and what anyone feels like they have to try and inflict on me about it), having to rely on their local forgeworld production a ton rather than getting nice standardised, all the best materials, "modern" suits shipped to them from like Mars or whatever. So really inconsistent armours (and the RT beakies are already pretty varied) with tons of improvised looking adaptations to keep them functioning would play right into that vibe.
