I like to play spellcasters and spellblades. I don't care how woke or cringe it is, being able to shoot magic energy beams, cast illusions, transform parts of your body into something else or even make your own homies stronger is just more fun to me than being a guy who hits stuff with a sword. This isn't me hating on fighters, insomuch as it is me wanting warriors to be more mechanically interesting. I will certainly play a warrior if it's more technical. Hell even in 3.5 you could make a spike-chain tripping or a bull rusher but it seems as if fighterfags have been doubling down on the unga bunga simplicity of their class. Hell even being a barbarian is more complicated these days.
>>98084269Personally, part of what I like about warriors is that they are mechanically simple compared to casters. Casters are supposed to have arcane knowledge and so playing them should entail a player familiarizing themself with the rules of a game.Meanwhile, warriors should be simple because they express a universal and simple mechanic of "I hit it with my sword". Fighter players usually rejoice in the fact that the caster's turn entails all this decision making and resolution, then their turn is "i hit it"
>>98084654I love and play mages myself, but I gotta agree with you. In a lot of settings, mage fights can kinda devolve into "I cast ring worm" and "I cast bug repellant", where it kinda comes down to whoever can pull the best answer out of their ass. Warriors don't have it super easy cause they gotta get past walls of BS but it's definitely entertaining to watch some maniac with a club chase down a bearded master of arcane arts.
>>98085888>"I cast ring worm" and "I cast bug repellant"Using bug repellent against a fungus? What a fucking misplay.
>>98084269You are fucking retarded.
>>98084269>wokeSo are zoomers so fucking mindbroken they only can think in terms of culture war bullshit?
>>98086677Yes.>>98084269kys
>>98086677>"So are zoomers so fucking mindbroken they only can think in terms of culture war bullshit?">bigot>chud>fascist>homophobe>incel>misogynist>nazi>other -ists and -phobes of other flavorsUnironically yes.
>>98086677No, OP is a wokie trying to dilute the meaning of the word.
>>98084269I used to like playing mages, but my DM didn't He was one of those "the story I planned is what will happen" DMs. He would set up a big climatic fight agaisnt a baddie for the group, I would cast 'Hold Monster' or 'Polymorph Other' on turn one and he would lose his shit when his baddie failed the save. He started limiting what spells my characters fould - it got to the point that I could only cast detect spells before I quit playing them. He just didnt like the 'save or fuck up the pre-planned plot' he wanted to run us through.
>>98088850Is already diluted beyond save.
>>98090635On one hand, being a bitch about someone having a valid solution is lame. On the other hand, having the key that opens every lock in a campaign full of locks is absurd. He should've been more gracious about the situation and adapted better; you should've not run the cheese you learned the DM couldn't handle.
