Besides just deleting everything post 7th...>delete 'primaris' as a 'super super space marine' category>guilliman returns with belisarius cawl but cawl's claim to fame is stabilizing space marine geneseed, not outdoing the emperor in genecraft>he accelerates the pace at which space marine foundings can happen, and makes it less atrociously resource intensive (still astronomical but less so)>he unearths a bunch of space marines (termed 'primaris' but are just normal space marines) he kept in stasis for a future massive crisis, as ordered by guilliman>so the big renewal of the imperium's strength is just more space marines, not retarded super ones>MKX slop armour/vehicles, the hasbro aesthetic etc, is squatted. or if it can't be totally deleted, just keep it for the retards who want that shit by saying it's extremely temperamental prototype gear and bordering on heretek innovation, limited to a very select few ('MKX' is also very flawed so it's not some stupid ceramite panacea to all the previous power armour marks' problems)>this way all the golden lore of relic armour handed down for ten millennia is preserved>'rubicon surgery' is just a purity test by guilliman to see which chapters will bend to his will. like a booster jab for space marines. practically it serves to renew the decaying geneseed banks and dying out chapters and give them fresh life, but again, is very experimental and can fail dramatically>conspiracy theories and traditionalist chapters believe the rubicon surgery is guilliman's plot to inject his own geneseed into their lineages to subtly psychologically and physiologically influence/control them1/2
>chapters preserve their own unique cultures, follow guilliman but jealously maintain their identities and rights as adeptus astartes>'primaris' is a term that originally applied to those stasis-marines but guilliman declares with his new age for the imperium, that all space marines are now his 'primaris', like a morale boost term similar to how German formations in WW2 were called 'grenadier' (volksgrenadier, etc)>means nothing practically, just a hollow name and political flex that suggests his ambitions to try centralise the adeptus astartes under his power. suggestion of tyrannical overstep>tactical and organisational innovations aren't radical more or less the same, but he applies 30k logic to break the dogmatism of codex astartes purists by updating his doctrine>no more retarded dualistic split between old 40k and slop corporate shit primaris 40k>dummies who like the new shit can still play with this jungle gym vehicles and Starcraft toys>grogs rejoiceeverybody wins.
>>98088736>Grogs rejoiceYou do know that this wil piss off all the Primaris fans, right? You will just be replacing the grogs with another desenfranchised group of ex players, angry and betrayed that THEIR favourite thing can no longer be used in the game they spent so much time and money on.
>>98090518>all the Primaris fansUnironically name one.
>>98088736>>98088741God, one can only dream.
>>98088736For starters, we reduce the size of the space marines and redesign the armor to make them more modern and human. No giant pauldrons, no ridiculous boots.
>>98090927>No giant pauldronsOUT
>>98090518Primaris fans are consumers who will buy whatever slop is given to them and like it. They don't actually care, they just want to buy cool new thing. As long as the designs look reasonably modern, i.e CAD, they won't stop.
>>98088736>>98088741Crazy how obvious it is you don't read lore and are just a larping grog tourist.
They can just a new edition that ignores gathering storm, there's no need to make it consistent with the lore since it's a new version of the game. Moreover Warhammer has always been slop corporate shit.
>>98091192t. corporate slop eater
>>98090518No, because all their models can stay. They don't get fizzled out and shifted off the shelves. They just remain as an unwelcome memory, meanwhile we get models that look more like the updated Red Corsairs but cleaner. All the old mix of armour marks, like in the original tactical squads. All the old gothic aesthetic, and if there are big babies who love tacticool cowwadoody they have their original Primaris toys. Problem solvedThe Red Corsair models (if they weren't chaos-y) are literally 'what could have been' for an updated Space Marine range. Not a fan of monopose, tho
Not that I care, but vox populi was clear: they prefer the miniatures with more heroic proportions and will accept any lore retcon to justify them.
>>98088736>Besides just deleting everything post 4th...Fixed
>>98088736>Besides just deleting everything post 7th...So, not fixing anything at all.Literally just ignore it if you don't like it. It sucks knowing we'll never get good content out of GW again, but a 4th edition fluff baseline with curated additions from the 5th-7th era(chiefly FW) is plenty of material to work with for making up your own fluff.Primarisharts and Primarchs in 40k is innately unfixable.
