Do you guys use a "mood board" to get your creative thoughts flowing when creating or to get the players in the right state of mind? I was thinking of creating one myself.
I had a dm who would make moodboards and put them up for us
My GM used to post in group chat pretty or interesting pictures or paintings, usually showing the biome/neighbourhood of where the PC crew's next mission is.He managed to do it for 15 or so sessions before he burnt out. It helped build up the mood, but in the end it was another item on his prep list that didn't pull its weight. He shifted his focus to things that are used during the session proper instead of just introduction.
>>98099457GM burnout is very brutal. Players should learn to carry their weight as well at times.
>>98099483I'll gladly help him if he asks, but it'd be kinda hard for me to prepare mood boards or mission briefings.
>>98099560I'm not trying to blame you, I was just stating it as a basic informational piece.
>>98099315do you use a dental dam in your pussy?
>>98099315I think mood boards are great communicative tools, but maybe not so great for actually precipitating a creative vision. I do draw quite a bit, so i can just show exactly what i imagine without needing to infer it. Not that i dont save references for inspiration though, so in a sense my phone gallery is my mood boars
>>98099315No.
>>98099315Sometimes, though mostly for myself. Basically just compiling images into a folder too help with brainstorming vibes.I don't often do that for players though. I tend to find that unless some images are exactly what I'm thinking of, it just muddles the communication further.
>>98099315No I just play games like normal people. You should try it sometime.>>98099457>>98099483Burnout is solved by playing better games that dont require retarded bullshit to function.
>>98099315>mood boardI don't know what that is.
>>98101989You don't play anything.
>>98101989Why do you expect anyone to engage with you seriously when you lie in the first five words
>>98101989You're a functionally illiterate imbecile.
>>98099560>expects gm to prepare mission briefings>the gm didI could have told you that was doomed to fail with that information alone.
>>98101993Moodboards are a way of visually representing your character's aesthetics & vibes. Some people find them very helpful in building characters or as a way to narrow down the character's look. They typically take the form of 9 images arranged in a grid, and are often completely illegible to everyone but the creator.
>>98103626It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. If my IRL group was to explode I'd rather give up on RPG entirely than dealing with this online bullshit.
>>98104948it's just a mildly cringy image compilation bro. Online shit can be much much worse.
