The long-time anons, affectionately called Toms, just stopped posting due to the never-ending shitposting by mentally ill schizos. Posted in /hwg/ for ten years but just last year I stopped posting, nobody cared about actual content and instead it was just shitpost and counter-shitpost.

I'm currently making some granny grating armies.I'm also painting some kriegsspiel blocks. Also got Risk models ready to be based. I'm in two minds about painting those.No idea rules what I'll play with them but still fun. I'm considering trying to find some 6mm cold war minis.

>>98106068Pillage is pretty fun, it's largely build off of GW's LOTR systems, which are some of the best rules that they ever put out. It's a little "gamey", certain factions having special rules and so on that are fairly clearly the game writer trying to make them "distinct" when historically most dark ages soldiers were pretty identical across Britain, Scandinavia and Northern Europe. Its fun though, and the Victrix minis (for all their weird minor inauthentic flaws) are lovely models.>>9810616920mm is having a bit of a resurgence at the moment. I can't speak much for Ancients, but there's been lots of 20mm WW2 coming around at my club as an inbetween for 28 and 15mm. For game recomendations, anything that normally runs at 28mm will likely run better at 20mm. For Romans I'm a big fan of Too Fat Lardies' INFAMY INFAMY, which I think runs very well and is fairly small scale so easy to get into.
Nobody is playing wargames right now, every wargame general is dead outside of faghammer, but that isn't a wargame

I used to post daily in there, often full battle reports with loads of pictures. Would get 0 replies, people were too busy trolling and arguing with each other. And then the posting gradually slowed to a crawl and it became clear the regulars were leaving for greener pastures. I just post /awg/ stuff now a days. Somehow a much healthier general than /hwg/. /AWG/ games are probably just more popular period compared to historicals
