What's the best way to age up a proxy card so it doesn't look as suspicious on old prints?

After a point it rapidly starts to remove ink, so your goal is to remove coating or whatever from the manufacturing process2. Using the blunt edge of a steak knife or the edge of a metal ruler, apply some wear to the corners or edges. Don't be too over the top. Follow by using your fingernail to roughen it up, especially on corners. Aim to make it look slightly dog-eared like a well thumbed book3. Rub it vigorously against stiff denim, wood, an old playmat etc. Do not rub it against bricks or any other abrasive surface4. Bend, flex it etc without creasing. Intentionally add binder dings. DO NOT TRY TO ADD SCRATCHES. This always ends up looking fake>You can do the following in any order5. Take an old bulk card you don't care about from around 1995ish, think Ice Age, Alliances etc, best if it's black or green. Pressing down very hard, rub it vigorously against your proxy. The idea is to generate enough heat and friction to transfer ink from the donor card to your proxy.6. Gather dried coffee grounds, used and dry tea dust or tea leaves, coarse sand (used in gardening etc) small bits of non-sharp or only slightly sharp metal like springs, stiff aluminum foil etc, and whatever else you can think of. Do not use sharp objects like metal shavings. Place these into an (optionally lined with coarse sandpaper) container. Place your mixture into the container with your proxies, close the lid firmly and shake the hell out of it. You may want to do this a couple of times and leave it between each shake. When finished, remove them from the container and use a tissue or something to clean the surface.7. You can optionally place your proxies in the sun for a little while if you'd like to emulate some very old printings like Alliances, Ice Age etc where the ink on reals has faded to a bit of an off black.Treating your cards as though they're real when you play them will do wonders too.

I spent all my MTGA Wildcards so I could play Standard again. I made mono-green landfall. I am too wildcard-poor to make the Selesnya version. It's nice having a current deck again. I forgot how bad the MTGA economy can be if you fall behind a bit.
