What's the most well-rounded class composition in a party of 3?
>>
>>98104227
Fighter
Cleric
Magic-User

Rogue is an obvious 4th, but it's abilities can covered by the core 3 due to Magic-Users having no chill.

I think Fighter/Fighting-Man is essential in earlier versions of D&D, but is pretty irrelevant from 3e on. You can just make up the role with a melee-focused caster or summons. It's honestly probably just 2 Wizards 1 Cleric or 2 Clerics 1 Wizard, maybe 1 Wizard 1 Cleric 1 Bard from 5e onwards.
>>
Paladin
Rogue
Arcane magic user

Additional healing items stolen/bought/crafted can supplement the paladin's healing
>>
Monk
Bard
Inquisitor

Warlock, Barbarian, Monk. Everyone can fight in melee, Monk is basically a caster, and Barbarian subclasses have ridiculous versatility.

My isekai self insert and his two waifu wives.
I’m a warrior the other is magic and the other is ranger. They are both elves and I’m a cute elf man.

3.5 is pretty blatantly Wizard, Druid, Cleric, if you wanted to avoid any overlap.
For 5e I think >>98104345 has it, possibly swapping the Cleric for a Druid if you're in a position to abuse Conjure Animals.
>>
>>98104430
a weird number of legendary warriors have stories about disguising themselves as maidens

Aside from the highest DC for casting defensively being 24, the Cleric can wear full armor and the Druid has a bear and can turn into a bear.
CoDzilla is a thing for a reason.
>>
>>98105364
>casting defensively
Cool. Now what happens when they prepare an attack? 10 + spell level + dmg if I remember correctly.

The druid is perfect for a small group but tripling down on spell casting is just retarded and will only really work if you start at high level or play DnD in baby mode.
Cleric should at least be swapped with a paladin or something.

Rifleman. Rifleman. Rifleman.

Some kind of techie is probably more useful than a netrunner.

In 5e, Lore Bard gets Magical Secrets at Level 6. At Level 10, they can also start picking up Wizard Spells any time the number of Prepared Spells they have increases, and treat those as Bard Spells.

Then there's Clerics. Clerics have some insanely powerful Subclasses, which give them extra prepared spells which can include things like fireball or even just wizard spells in general with the right Subclass.

As for Paladin, it's certifiably the strongest martial-adjacent class even with the 2024 nerfs. It has a powerful aura at level 6 that is functionally a +3 to all Saving Throws for everyone within 10 feet of the Paladin, including themselves (it scales with CHA modifier) on top of having three attacks that all deal 1d8 extra radiant damage once they hit level 11, heavy armor, and the best tanking ability in 5e, Compelled Duel on their spell list, not to mention some of the complete bullshit some of the subclasses get. If the Paladin has 1 level of Warlock, they also can eschew Strength if they can get Mithral armor (which ignores the STR requirement) and go pure CHA.

Druid as has been noted elsewhere ITT is a solid replacement for cleric as it keeps the healing cleric offers with more damaging spells and, of course, Conjure Animals to make everyone's lives hell from the fact you have like 10 turns on initiative.

This is not because they were feminine.
Its because in the mythical past of like since the beginning of civilization until like 100 years ago women used to wear a lot of clothes that hide your body features and interacting with a woman against her will was seen as dishonorable, therefore dressing as a woman (not in tube top and shorts, it is long flowing dresses that cover everything from the neck below, and a scarf or hat for your head). allowed you to escape most attention by legal powers. Most men of honour would fear to offend a woman by searching her, and as such be marked for vengeance by her family.

1E:
1/2 Elf Ranger/Cleric
1/2 Orc Fighter/Thief
Elf Fighter/Magic-User
>>
>>98105868
Is this actually accurate from level 1? I think this is really powerful at mid-levels, but weaker than a conventional party starting and less powerful at high levels. Now the lethality is so high that probably doesn't actually matter cause you're getting hirelings either way or whatever, but still.

>Cool. Now what happens when they prepare an attack?

Readying requires that they win initiative, can only be used with standard actions and requires that the target be within range/reach. A smart caster is going to move out of reach or does something else if someone readies and action to interrupt spell casting. Good with large numbers of low level characters armed with ranged weapons without multiple attacks, but to costly at higher levels and fighting in melee.

Three magic users. One specialized in damage output, another specialized in utility magics, and a third specialized in mobility and trickery.

If skills are a means of engaging with a game's challenges, every class should have skills.

Mental, inanimate, and special effects. So for example,

Hero A : mind blast, mind control, illusions, emotion control, cloud minds, telepathy, force field ward
Hero B : blast, strike, machine control, telekinesis, force field, animation
Hero C : darkness, invisibility, blind, irritant, stun, banish, slick, possession

Of course, there's no reason that heroes have to specialize. Anyone can have any combination of these powers.

Or it's used for comedy. Thor masquerading as a woman is a joke about how masculine he is yet the giants were still fooled, either their women are that ugly or they're that stupid. It's like Joseph Joestar trying to fool nazis with really shitty drag, except in Thor's case it worked
