I think it's odd that you bemoan the Aberrants as a point of contrast, they're honestly not much worse. My chief complaint with it is that they didn't provide for a non-metamorph build on the 5th one, but otherwise with switching between the two weapon load outs per body and the head options being freely interchangeable, you aren't going to run out of variations for a unit that you are unlikely to field more than 10-20 of.
