In your setting, did humans invent the majority of things, or did elves? What about dwarves?

Elves have been around a lot longer but humans are more creative. Dwarves are somewhere in the middle.
Goblins have a lot of "invenshuns". Most of them involve sharp objects or fire.

Why would it get deleted? Everyone isn’t equally contributive. This isn’t hateful to say. No single school will produce the same level of intellectuality. You can expand it to nations and cultures. Some intellectual cultures drop the ball and go full blown retard after a couple hundred years, too. Nothing is assured.

>Elves have been around a lot longer but humans are more creative
So elves are like the prosperous (if stagnant) Chinese. That’s fitting. They’ve had the longest civilizational streak going for them. Europe was an up and down and a lot more explosively innovational in a shorter span of time, in comparison.

Most sciences have their origins in elven traditions, and they are still leading in many fields.

White success is a very, very touchy subject. It shouldn’t be. But it is. Why? Pride. The fear of inadequacy.

If people can’t acknowledge another’s successes, then perhaps they just aren’t a mature individual? They have self worth issues.

So most of the western world? Go say you’re proud to be white around a group of black people. I fucking dare you. It’s okay to hate on white people. Sort of like how it’s okay to hate on elves. Superiority breeds resentment. Even when superiors don’t see it that way, they are still hated for it. “I just wanted to paint real good”. “You artistic son of a bitch”.

>Dwarves are somewhere in the middle
In the majority of fantasy settings they’re the ones leading the industrial charge. Dwarves should be the best at everything but for some reason they aren’t.

I like to think not! Isaac Newton was a not! high elf. Or the equivalent. He had long flowing hair and no facial hair. Wispy frame. Thin. Also a huge prude. Likely died a virgin.

Anyone got pics of dwarf ladies?

>In your setting, did humans invent the majority of things, or did elves? What about dwarves?

In no particular order: Gnomes, Halflings, Humans, Monoeye, and Orcs, are the primary inventors of 'things'. The "inventive species" all have a set of qualities in common: they're individually very weak and incompetent, typically short lived (except Gnomes), generalists, and incredibly community driven. They're species that're presented problems, that they cannot overcome as individuals, or with their own natural talents, and must therefor rely on community and innovation to solve these problems.
Most other species, quite frankly, have very little interest in inventing things due to some combination of over-adaptation: they're too long lived, they're too strong, too big, and in some cases they can even be too intelligent. Many of them also live in a completely homeostatic state with their environment and thus are completely inoculated from any thoughts of innovation.

With that in mind there are a number of "crafty" races: Cyclopes, Giants, Dwarves, and High Elves. These are all species that breed very slowly and live incredibly long, solitary, lives, where individuals are heavily invested in for decades, sometimes even centuries. They do not necessarily have a habit of inventing things (minimal exposure to the outside world/ability to circulate ideas), however they often become masters of their works which can give the illusion of technological grandeur.

If some elven kingdom has that much progress, why would it let several other sub-elf species in their walls? That's just retarded
>>

A mixture of narcissism and suicidal levels or niceness. The elves saw themselves as moral gods, and their lessers “NEEDED our help”, etc. Elven nations penalize other elven nations for refusing to take in orc war refugees. Rich dwarven bankers, politicians and media tycoons also accuse any elves of not wanting orcish immigrants to be “orcophobes”. Elves get shamed by other elves for not wanting orcs to be welcomed into their land.

Seems like they are just retarded idiots that value their own social standing over actual survival. No wonder they are dying out in most settings or isolated from everybody.
>>

Yep. I hate white people. They gave the world everything. They had everything. They threw it all away because they were too nice for their own good. They were too naive. They didn’t listen to the people who warned them this would happen.

You shouldn’t hate white people for ruining the world (they made it better for everyone in fact), you should hate white people for allowing it all to collapse.
>>
>>98111809
Neither. Humans and elves aren't even the oldest species on the planet. That would technically be dragons, but after them are the dinosaur folk who are the oldest of the purely mortal species.
>>
Not!Einstein was a gnome with a thick not!German accent. A gentle, forgetful, absentminded genius of a wizard who wouldn’t hurt a fly. Would rather understand magic than cast magic. The wizarding world had a total paradigm shift.
>>

"Mortalkind" (read: most playable races) came much later in the world's history, so pretty much all concepts & inventions in the world stem from knowledge shared with them by the dragons/giants/elementals and even demons & celestials, to some degree, who were already there since before the Era of Emergence. They just took what they learned and ran with it.

Dwarves & Elves are the pioneers for most of magic/industry in the modern times, while Humans have the biggest societal and political influence due to being so numerous and widespread.

My setting doesn't technically have elves or dwarves.

That said about 1/3 of inventions were created by humans in my setting.
1/3 were yoinked from other realities by Immortals and those who could travel the meta reality.
Leaving about 1/3 for all the other peoples with a good chunk of that mostly from one race while the other few don't invent much because it genuinely isn't a priority for them or how they typically think of solutions to problems.

Meh, in my setting. The Elves made the most things. However, they lost most of their advance tech in the fall of their Elven Empire. Humans rediscover most of it as they're now the most dominant race of the world, however they are secret societies who keep tech mostly in the same for different reasons. (fear of wipe the world out, to making it easier to control people, ETC.)
>>
>>98111809
It depends on which of my settings is in question.
>>
The gods invented everything. They simply allow mortals to copy them.
