Goblins:>The goblins keep their weapons in barrels of waste when not in use to deal extra poison damage, even if intruders live they run the risk of dying of sepsis and infection>They've included several overhead crossings in their lair, from which they drop jars/vases of insects, refuse (such as shit, rotten food, and rat corpses), and burning coals onto people passing under>They use giant spider webs to trap intruders in place before setting them on fireKobolds:>The kobolds have dug an extensive network of not-so-secret tunnels that only creatures of their size can crawl through. From these openings, they attack with spears and crossbows before scurrying off to where they can't be touched. Many of them also enable the kobolds to enact pincer formations against intruders in narrow hallways>Their pit traps are covered by long wooden planks, with one section having it's underside cut up so that weight applied to the top side will cause the planks to snap and break in half. Some of these pit traps lead to large pots/cauldrons of water, with kobolds in another room underneath who will light fires underneath when they hear someone has landed in the pot>They use trained rats to harass, distract, and attack intruders>They have learned to weaponize psilocybin mushrooms against intruders, making them too high to fight effectively
>>98112007>KoboldsFucking Baldur“s Gate again ... thx for triggering my PTSD!!
>>98112007The problem with describing how a trap works is that the rogues detect and disable traps abilities are completely vague. I can design a trap that is technically impossible to disable because of the location of the mechanisms puts them out of reach of the rogue. I am so glad my group stopped playing D&D a d switched to FFGrpgs
>>98112083Krafty Kunts Klan.>>98112115I also don't play D&D. These were just some general use/purpose ideas I had. I don't think the mechanics of 5e would facilitate them very well anyway.
>dungeons of poopoo peepeeNo thanks, you can keep your fetish to yourself.
>>98112520Curious that nobody said anything sexual yet you automatically assume that the presence of poop represents something sexual.
>>98112007Good, now do the same for all other enemies you encounter. Orcs, Undeads, Slimes, Ogres, Trolls, Dragons, Cultists, Bandits, Gnolls, Bugbears, Drows, Duergars
>>98112007Those goblins sound smart enough to use the dungeon monsters as their "pets/guards" too. Lure invaders into their dens and let the chaos ensue.
>>98112789NTA, but here's a basic dungeon ecology, with your suggested monsters, coming right up...
>>98113954Congratulations: you just learned the basics of being a DM. Good job
>>98112115A trap has some output. Even if the operation mechanisms are remote, the release point has to be somewhere. Detecting and disabling a trap can be recognizing a trigger, a disoenser, or a flap. These can be jammed or circumvented, thus disabling the trap.
>>98112007>Some of these pit traps lead to large pots/cauldrons of water, with kobolds in another room underneath who will light fires underneath when they hear someone has landed in the potGosh, if the player doesn't figure out how to escape that pot, they be boiled to death in just a matter of hours!
>>98114738Eh, if the pot is flush with the bottom of the hole, there"s no gap, and you might have to do an Efnisien, and explode it from inside.
>>98112007>free poop dungeon
>>98112660Retards on this board do the same when they see cleavage, and nobody has a problem with it.
>>98112660Are you seriously arguing that feces aren't inherently sexual?
>>98112789I don't think all of these would be likely to have trap-filled lairs
>>98112789Now that its brought up a slime-filled lair sounds like an interesting trap of its ownYou think the place is full of dirty puddles but most are actually hibernating slimes and oozes and sludges in carved-out holes, and one slip can mean you are literally waist-deep in trouble.Probably acts as a dumping ground for some villain's victims or a breeding grounds set up to form a slime army to be trained or magically controlled somehow.
>>98112007>They use trained rats to harass, distract, and attack intrudersThis seems like a colossal waste of time.
>>98115481Noob GM>>98116105Good GM>>98116141Bad GM
>>98112007>>The goblins keep their weapons in barrels of wastethat would just corrode the weapons and make them useless
>>98116259I speak from my experience when I say that fecal matter will not corrode steel.
>>98116310Yeah, you just love smearing your shit all over everything, don't you?
>>98116141>Spend your entire life training attack rats>Humans in the camp, this is you chance to prove your doubters wrong>Release the rats!>Most run away, >A few nibble aggressively, but harmless at the invader's boots>Casually kicked awayA lifetime of work, ruined
>>98114579A level 7 wizard can create a magical trap using Arcane Eye as the trigger which is invisable that shoots a scorching ray at the first target to enter into range that is farther than the rogue detect range. The GM has to coddle the players if you follow the rules as written.
>>98112007I too have watched AJ Picket videos.
>>98116343Yummy yummy
>>98117478Morbidly a beast, but also morbidly obese
