I can see the appeal of having something to play when you can't get a group together or you want something to play in between sessions.
I probably would have loved solo TTRPGs as a kid when my vidya time was very limited and no friends who would take DnD seriously.

The beauty of being a solo-gaming enthusiast is that I whole-heartedly know that I am better than you (specifically,) beyond a reasonable doubt.
One of us is a legitimate tabletop gaming enthusiast that enjoys playing games in his spare time, even if it means playing by himself. The other has to come up with some social reason as to why he'd like this hobby.

Anyway for the rest of you. I travel for a living and can't regularly pack even a handheld game system along. Having a few P&P solo RPGs and wargames along provides some entertainment and relaxation on weekday nights in Taejon, Veracruz, or Guayaquil. Constantly sitting in bars, calisthenics, or zoning out in front of TV gets old after a while.
