So we know from the rumours that the Drikhari refresh will have
>Vect without slaves
>but likely comes with a Space Dragon he can ride
>Kabalite refresh
And that's it. No mention of grotesques. But we do know GW has a tendency to update models they're trying to push by buffing them, so Hellions are probably getting updated after people buy all their stock.

Also rumored is that flyers will be phased out in 11th which is a shame because the flyers are like 10% of the dark eldar roster at this point.
>>
>>98132754
Is this the actual reason they never bothered to re-release the Maelstrom box?
>>

Eh. Flyers are too much for 40k. They make sense in Legions Imperialis scale, but not the 1/8 mile scale board 40k tends to take place on.

I pray for a fun free community supported edition of the warhammers by a deviated and passionate team that can wrangle in retards and keep things fun while being fair.
And that GW can’t slap it down.

I also pray for affinity photo editing tutorials to recreate edited vignette photos like pic related.

Anybody ever tried following model train diy terrain tutorials? Any good ones saved as pdfs?
It took me too long to learn how beautiful the original Thomas The Tank Engine sets have been built. I bet genuine love went into those set pieces.

try vallejo metal color air burnt iron, or a similar dark metallic from that range. the metal color air paints from vallejo are probably the best looking metallics on the market. also they work for brush on despite the air label, and work especially well with a drybrush

Retard kun, they want to give Drukhari a centerpiece model, which is something they lack right now. And 11 of those 22 datasheets have the fly keyword. The other half want to go inside something that flies.

tyranids hive tyrants have left over legs that should be about that same size and have hooves, so that might be a good starting point for a conversion with chaos bits and maybe fill in some of the tyranid biojunk.

i think you can probably fin the legs for cheap, or if you know a tyranid player they probably have a set laying around left over from a flyrant

According to the author of "Warlord of Warlords" a scene that didn't make it to the novel due to running out of space was Ghaz attempting to fight daemons invading his ship. The Daemons would have unraveled from his mere presence.

I have a sinking feeling that Tau are going to be incredibly strong this edition.
>>
>>98133420
Hidden is a big nothing burger because all the terrain is close enough to spot every unit in adjacent terrain. But the biggest problem is going to be every vehicle getting to see across templates just by toeing in, like the old towering rules allowed. GW seems to forget how much of a problem that was in the early index days
>>
>>98133426
The FLY keyword is also massively buffed, and nearly every single one of Tau’s important units have the FLY keyword.
>>
>>98133444
The change is to cover also generally make the game more lethal I think since even small AP is going to be a lot more destructive now.
Notice they have not tried even once to call the game less lethal in their marketing this time.

>>
>>98133583
i live in a very competitive meta/state so i'm usually bringing a list that works well in my local meta, occasionally you get some out of towners that think they can come clear the the local tourneys without a sweat, but they usually only ever get around the mid standings.
Something with tourneys i'll always do though is try and be a player that's enjoyable to play against, it's not always about about matching energy but even if I or my opponent is losing bad i want to make sure that there's at least some banter going on to try and lighten the mood. Honestly i've found when ever i start out a game with a bit of trash talk to get some banter started with my opponent it helped immensely when ever rule arguments arise, just that little bit of social lubricant to help each party best explain their reasoning and all.

for me, a model doesnt feel warhammer unless it uses true metal metallics. i can appreciate the skill of NMM but there's nothing like a smooth coat of steel or brass to put your feet firmly in the 41st millennium.
>>
>>98134075
I thought the reformulation was for Vallejo Game Color? They have multiple paint lines.

Model Color - Traditional historical paints.
Game Color - Copying Citadel
Xpress Color - Copying Contrast
Mecha Color - Airbrush paints trying to copy Gundam Color but nontoxic acrylic.
Metal Color - Model paints that are more reflective than other paint line metallics, with a medium that will hardfuck your brush if you use a paintbrush instead of airbrush.

>>
>>98133853
those prices are based purely on model size, box size, sprue sheet count, and projected quantity per customer. something you're going to buy less of gets priced higher, even if its comparable size to another model (a great example of this is a space marine captain who costs as much as a whole squad of 10 marines that are the same size, because they arent going to sell you that many captains, so they need to make more money on the kit, same with big kits like the kill rig)

points dont at all factor into the pricing, they are completely independent departments that do not communicate.

that said, big models like that do tend to be less bang for your buck in 40k than aos or whfb. for whatever reason, 40ks pts are about half of what they are per model than GWs other games, so what is a 400 pt monster in aos is only a 150-200pt monster in 40k. one of the most clear examples of this are the greater daemons, which exist with virtually identical datasheets between both games, but the aos one is nearly 2x the pts, meaning better pts per $$$ ratio, and smaller armies overall

the price might also factor in development time if a kit had a particularly rocky artistic sculpting development and get upcharged to recoup costs, but this hasnt been an issue for a while since GW modernized its sculpting suite with zbrush and more artists with modern training. an infamous kit for this phenomenon though were the previous vampire count blood knights which were an eye watering $100/5 back in like 2005

Tech advancement is one of the biggest reasons the Imperium gets mogged by other factions. It's amazing how the IG and marines can just make do with what's almost caveman stuff compared other factions.

So as written it states in Marine codices
>If an ADEPTUS ASTARTES unit has a second Faction keyword on its datasheet, that Faction keyword is the name of that unit’s Chapter. For example, Ragnar Blackmane has both the ADEPTUS ASTARTES and SPACE WOLVES Faction keywords, and is therefore from the Space Wolves Chapter.
>You cannot include units from more than one Chapter in your army.
The top part of this pic is the keywords for the Grey Knights Terminators as they show up in the Imperial Agents codex, the middle is how they show up in the Grey Knights codex, and the bottom is for Deathwing Terminators for good measure. Now let's look at the ruling for Assigned Agents
>f your army Faction is not AGENTS OF THE IMPERIUM, but every model in your army has the IMPERIUM keyword, you can include AGENTS OF THE IMPERIUM units in your army even if they do not have the Faction keyword you selected in the Select Army Faction step. In this case, the maximum number of AGENTS OF THE IMPERIUM units you can include in your army depends on the battle size (For 2k games it's 2 Retinue, 2 Characters, 1 Requisitioned)

Any imperial army is able to take stuff from the Agents codex, so you can take a single squad of Grey Knight Terminators because they have REQUISITIONED (And two squads of Deathwatch marines too since they have RETINUE) if you want from them because they just have the AGENTS OF THE IMPERIUM keyword. Meanwhile, a Space Wolves list can't take the Deathwing Terminators because of the DARK ANGELS keyword.

Nevermind that it entirely runs counter to Emperor's personality and goals. That have been reinforced time and time again, even in the HH books.
He knows what evil dickheads the chaos gods are like and he also is 100% aware that making any dealings with those pieces of shit WILL come back to bite you in the ass.
Meaning the Emperor would never do it.

>The exact health and fate of the Emperor by the 41st Millennium is both vague and hotly debated. Is he alive? A god? Or just a rotting corpse on a throne acting as the bulb for a glorified psychic lighthouse? The trailer artfully skirts this problem by showing all of these possibilities. You’ll just have to decide for yourself.

Trying guard for the first time ever. I’ve been a marine, eldar, and ork player for nearly 10 years now. I’m ready for guard.

I know most guard deployments in the lore have multiple regiments deployed to a warzone, campaign, theater. So in that light is having both Cadians and dkok in the same army encouraged or frowned upon? I’ve noticed most guard armies I’ve played againt either field one or the other, OR they’ll model some krieg units as being cadian but with krieg rules (for example gas mask cadian heads on krieg bodies and painted the same way as the rest of their army).

What are your recommendations?

4th is the only decent edition.
Fortunately 4th is a complete game with enough content to play anything worth playing from 40k.
>>
>>98135109
Just infiltrating places and in general being a nuisance.
Realistically the legion is pretty much entirely fractured and doesn't have an unifying goal of any kind.

it's also kinda wrong. IG soldiers will have family and friends in whatever shithole they were conscripted, so they will, in fact, be missed. It's not much different to soldiering in our time, or in the past for that matter. Just because the scope of war changed, it doesn't mean humans stop being human.

>>
>>98135244
If you don't know how to play, then it would be inappropriate. Do not hold up the entire event because you're looking up the rules or having your opponent explain everything.

If you do know all the rules and have played many non-tournament games with no issues, then I actually do recommend it. Starting at local lgs events is how you begin to get better at the game and it's lots of fun and satisfying to play the game well. If it's just a matter of never playing an event before, you have to start sometime.
>>
>>98135199
I like to imagine that Alpha Legion has basically become a metaphorical "cancer" that just spreads. And this is intentional by design of Alpharius/Omegon/whichever of them is alive.
It's to ensure the Alpha Legion will survive in some manner or form always, no matter what alliegance they might hold.

Bolt rifles had 30" range, rapid fire and AP-1 (AP4 in pre-8e). Basically old Kraken bolter. Auto bolt rifle was effectively storm bolter with D2, later got changed to Assault 3 and D1 to balance it out more. Stalker bolter rifle was 36", Heavy 1, AP-2 D2. That's a little more difficult to do, since 3e system didn't do Damage and Heavy meant no moving and shooting at all. Would 36" Heavy 1 AP3 be enough? Alternatively, one could look at 5e Stalker bolter (36" S4 AP5 Heavy 2 Rending, Pinning).
>>
>>98135244
>I do have 1000 points of nids painted and ready
show up and win best pained because 40k players hardly paint their armies anymore
>>
>>98135293
I'd say give them a 30 or 32" range bolters, call them bolt rifles and voila. Don't bother with extra profile, and if you do just use existing bolter adjacent weapons.
Personally I'd not even give them [primaris] a different profile, I'd treat primaris as another armor mark.

What I'd love to port over are saturnine terminators, that's stupid enough to be worth the effort.
>>
>>98135244
You would annoy everyone by wasting everyone's time
It would be very embarrassing for you too, since nobody is on a tournament to teach people how to play, so you would get judgmental looks with people thinking you are retarded
Worst case scenario someone will even record you and turn you into a meme https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXPDsE6O31I
