Page 6 and no posts? Looks like 4chan Jumpchain is dead
Like I said, Jumpchain isnt an actual game. I think somebody should rig up some sort of solo rpg system with oracles to give an impartial side of the experience instead of relying on author only, cause that is biased, I think having a win and loss state can help.
>>98134785Are you trying to Meme here? Because I asked someone who was talking about Oracles like this in honest curiosity and they shot me down saying they didn't feel like talking about it.If we are talking good solo systems I like a combination of Mythic and Mutants and Masterminds for the stat part. That is just personal bias though. Mutants and Masterminds allows you to build anything but it has a bit of crunch to it and I am comfortable with Mythic, I have never tried oracles. Still it's a fun idea of busting out some dice and having yourself an actual Jumpchain RPG.
>>98134879NTA but I don't like the system of Mutants and Masterminds at all because its attempts at keeping things "balanced" are just too jarring. You get shit like automatically recovering to full health within 15 minutes once the fight is over no matter how close to death you got (assuming you didn't actually die) and that's the baseline before any powers are factored in but if you exhaust yourself it will take a minimum of several hours to catch your breath and no kind of superpower can help with that. Not to mention all the "Superspeed is just fluff, you don't actually get to take more actions in the same amount of time than someone moving at normal speed" and such.I'd like to have an LLM run a chain for me but my GPU caps out at ~150k context running Gemma 4 after tricks to save on VRAM which seems like a lot but runs out quicker than you'd think.
>>98134183>can't post pdfs>have to deal with ddanon>the random range bans and stupid captchano fucking shit it is dead here
>>98134183No pdfs and posting being randomly blocked by range bans make it difficult to post here.
The reddit jump for Revenge of the Sith offers the Separatist fleet that fought at Coruscant which numbers in the 10s of thousands of ships. Would a fleet that big be able to bring order to a significant sector of the terminus systems in Mass Effect should Jumper decide to form their own equivalent of the Corporate Sector Authority there?
I hate the range bans, but what is up with them anyway? Are they just blocking entire states at a time?
>>98136420A good chunk of them are fake, the 'threat level' is just too high because of some stupid automated system.
>>98136121>can't post pdfsNot really an issue since you can upload them wherever and link to them. If the PDF share thread can operate without attaching PDFs to posts then so /jc/, we don't even need to be all cloak and dagger about it unlike them.>have to deal with ddanonAs opposed to all the blogposting namefags and their sycophants in their own little kingdom? Not that I have any love of anyone with an unwarranted sense of importance on this site, either.>the random range bansHaven't had one in nearly a decade myself and if they still work the same they don't even stop you from posting entirely, just attachments and new threads.>stupid captchaI find the current captcha quite nice. It's really quick and easy and can be done using just the mouse.Don't bother getting heated up, just take a few deep breaths and wait a bit and the cognitive dissonance will subside. Arguing about this shit goes anywhere.
What is this general even supposed to look like on a good day?
>>98136575It is an issue because I don't feel like going through more hoops and thus don't post my jumps here.
>>98136815>hoopsThe effort of uploading something to catbox or the like and copy-pasting the link is just about the same as attaching a file. I do it all the time in other threads. Hell, there's even an extension that makes it exactly the same effort that could easily be tweaked for /jc/'s use case.
>>98136847>I do it all the time in other threads.Yet you don't do it in this thread. Because you don't make jumps. Because you're a shitposter whose opinion is worthless, and you're mad there's no one here to respond to your shitposting.
>>98136941If that's what you're set on believing there's not much point to this whole conversation. Picrel is a glimpse of an update I'm planning on for one of my jumps by the way.
>>98136788Go back a year or two in the archives and see for yourself.
>>98135316Alright I like Mutants and Masterminds it's pretty versatile but I can understand that maybe you want something a little different. Maybe something with a bit more teeth. Does anyone have any good suggestions for game system that lets you keep piling on tons of stuff on to a character like Jumpchain does?
>>98134785>>98135316Don't have anything to add about solo rpgs or oracles (except I had a bit of fun using some website called hexroll to generate a world and encounters to go through that I couldn't metagame as much), but I've tried to stat my jumpers out every so often, to mixed success. Most notable has been my attempt at statting out my jumpers with an extremely bastardized version of the Storyteller System, which I've never actually played, so it amounted to just having different stats, d10s, and a dice pool to resolve stuff. It kinda worked, but not really any better at generating interesting situations or modeling a Jumper than just author decisions have been for me.Because my attention span's terrible, I jump (heh) from chain concept to chain concept after ~2 jumps in each depending on what I'm interested in in that moment. Most recently that has been my attempts to make a chain that was basically a series of solo wargaming campaigns as I try to get into wargaming; too early to say whether it's working or if it's fun or not. I've used One Page Rules Star Quest rules to stat out my jumper for that, but I just started the first jump for that, so too early to say.Would be very interested in any recommendations other anons here have for oracles for Jumpchain or other game systems that work better than my kludged together sacks of garbage.
Please don't die, I don't want to be stuck on the bunker forever
>>98147502Hahahahahahahahaha.
>>98147502It's not going to die. However it would be a lot healthier if you asked a question or something to stimulate conversation. So what's going on in everyone's chain. I am currently rewriting a rewrite of the first stop of my chain because... reasons.
>>98147988I'm pretty on and off (mostly off) with writing my chain so haven't gotten past nuking Alinor yet. Can't really decide how things should ultimately turn out with the portal I opened for Dagon or what sort of course the Argonian Invasion should take when the Red Year didn't happen.
>>98147988I read some writeups on bunker and they were like a single paragraph for the full 10 years, so I'm wondering if it is more that jumpers won't write or anons won't read anything longer. For the one or two of you that read jump writeups, what sort of pace do you think is good?
>>98147988JUmper is upset that his infinite energy generator broke because he changed jumps. Hear me out. Cyclops has eyes that are portals to endless energy, so jump just had to get his hands on a few sets. Jumper did knock Scott out and healed and regrew his eyes. Was even nice enough to give the guy a power toggle as payment. He magiteched up a converter to make the energy more usable for him. But then when he switched jumps the entire thing stopped working because apparently that dimension of energy is a Marvel thing and the eyes only work in Marvel. Jumper is pissed as he has to go to plan B, which is dismembering himself, regrowing the limbs and then converting the flesh into usable an energy source.
>>98149013>they were like a single paragraph for the full 10 years>I'm wondering if it is more that jumpers won't write or anons won't read anything longerLikely the former because of the character limit here, but the latter may have justified their choice since wordloaf is clunky in this posting format. I think even Shard's 3+ posts per writeup is decent enough to get a point across without going full-tilt at proper (short) fic chapters with.5+ posts per jump, but even in that range you'd only get one pivotal scene if you're writing it like a normal story instead of a more prolonged digest/overview.
>>98149013I've started a writeup where I was thousands of words in before even the first hour of the first jump was covered. I had to start over with a short version, then again with a short short version just to get that chain to its second jump. On the other hand the chains that go on for many jumps have little or no writeup to them.I generally don't post my writeups, long or short, because they're not written with the intention of ever being read. I don't even read then myself. The act of writing itself is a means of giving substance to what would otherwise only exist in my head, the end product is meaningless.
>>98149013I write absurd amounts, I used to post PDFs of my stories of my Jumper's travels. I am rewriteing my rewrite of the first jump I am at 96 pages though a good portion of that is stuff that needs to be rewritten.I do all of that for me. Because I like writing it. I am probably am writing many many times too much. TLDR is a real thing. However as I said I do it for me. I enjoy sharing it. I hope people will read it but I understand most people will see the length and check out immediately. That's fine. If you are looking to write your own stuff I say worry about what you want to do first and worry about if anyone will read it second.
>>98149013I use to do writing, but it took so long and I lack free time. When I sit down the words do not flow and it can take an hour to get a paragraph. Same problem with jump making.
>>98153419Try writing just anything for a while. Like just open a text file and, with nobody as your witness, just type every single thing that's in your head, like just write up an incomprehensible stream of consciousness monologue for a few minutesIt helps sometimes
>>98151823>96 pagesFirst thought this was a lot, but I realized that if I give each year 600 words like I wanted to originally, it's going to come out to 24 pages.
>>98154022>First thought this was a lot,That's not even a finished story just a start. However I am me. However don't be afraid to go beyond the impossible and kick reason to the curb. You write what you want, If you want a paragraph and that's good for you it's fine. If you are a masochist like me apparently wants to write a novel for each world go for it.
>be in a Bathyscaphe in the Mariana Trench.>Accio Satoru GojoIs this a viable stalling tactic at least?
>>98155912>Accio Satoru GojoIn HP canon a wizard can Accio living creatures like salmon, but not another adult like Hagrid.Unless you are using the Elder Wand or the spell is empowered in some way, upper limit is probably knocking him to the ground before the spell fails.
>>98156790nta but would it be possible to Accio his clothes off of him? You could mock him saying you didn't think it was that cold out. He would beat the ever loving shit out of you but it would be a moral victory. He would certainly remember you.
>>98157203>Accio his clothes offOh certainly. Accioing someones belt/pants would actually work pretty well now I think about it.
>>98157817Accio their shoes instead. Less embarrassment value, but higher chance of them slipping and bashing their head on the ground, or just being forced off balance. Harder to just grab and stop as well.
>>98159497Plus you can transfigure a bunch of spikes on the ground that you can ignore since you will have shoes while they don't.
>>98159502Or instead of spikes do something really evil. Legos.
>>98159553Lego's are just very small caltrops that fit together.
>>98163033Quack Quack you crazy water fowl. Hope the jump is going well.
>>98163353Generic is making a more Epic-focused D&D Jump, so it makes me feel like I'm pissing into the wind because I know most people want power instead of quality, but I'm refamiliarizing with niche mechanics and Dragon magazine content. The writers on the Candlekeep forum generally consider Dragon mags to be canon, and thus so do I. There's a lot of weird rulings I have to make like how Samurai was ported into a mainline book but Sohei wasn't. On top of that, I'm trying to balance everything against Classes and Feats so people don't just spam Classes. Part of the way I've found to do this is by expanding mechanics and or bundling options. Items for example is as simple as offering specific items with a higher gold value than the allowed general item purchase. I like being specific, but I've spent the last like 4 hours just rereading things trying to figure out one balanced and appropriately themed item. I'd post it because it's 100CP, but I don't want to give Generic any ideas. I'm still not sure if I'm going to work this year, but holy fuck am I not making this simple for myself. The circle I am trying to square is very big.
>>98163400A bit of advice that you can take or leave as you like. Don't worry about what some other guy is doing. I am not going to get in to what people think about Generic, It doesn't matter here. Just make the best jump you can. I wish I could help you with how to balance this or that but fuck if I know mate. I would just say go with interesting and neat ideas for abilities. Also I wouldn't obsess about balance. Forgotten Realms/DnD is pretty unbalanced as it is. Try playing a fighter and seeing how fair that feels. So Good luck I guess.
Hello guys, here is 0.1 of my Pokémon Legends: Z-A jump.>https://files.catbox.moe/wi8gnu.pdf
>>98163573Based
>>98163400>I don't want to give Generic any ideasWhy are you so obsessed with this as some sort of competition
>>98164034I wrote two paragraphs and then deleted them. Been sitting here just staring at this. The short answer is I just don't like Generic. Generic and Spaz are the same person in my mind. Effort and quality are measurements of care. Our Jumpchain philosophies are just different. Like how I've argued several times power levels should be limited, or how Generic Jumps are fundamentally lazy power grabs that disincentivize niche but relevant Jump use and creation. Har har har, Forgotten Realms and exploits, but as a RAWfag most of the time, most exploits I've seen I'd argue don't actually work such as Thought Bottle abuse. It's certainly the strongest setting I've touched since redoing things.
>>98163400Point of order here: I am (eventually) making a high level 2e focused jump. If you aren't familiar with 2e, it is significantly weaker. The main differences are that numbers don't keep going up forever (ie the Simbul would lose a fist fight with Driz'zt because her HP and THAC0 are worse than a level 10 fighter's despite being level 30), significantly longer spell preparation that makes "spells per day" a farce (it takes 90 minutes to prepare a single 9th level spell), weaker and worse spellcasting rules in general, and the lack of skill checks that go into absurd mythic anal spelunker territory. A 2e Greater God is worse in most ways than an optimized 3.5e full caster. Also, the Forgotten Realms dupe is quite far back in the queue at this point. Though it's potentially subject to change, I'm more likely to get a Planescape jump out first even just looking only at DnD.And don't worry about giving me ideas. I'm quite famous for my quixotic devotion to my own ideals about jump balance, and I'm not going to change them for anyone else.
>>98165265I was very tired when I made those posts. I forgot you were even doing 2e. Anyways, the idea is offering some equipment that's custom in addition to a per-gold-price General purchase because the General purchase I would limit to only established named items. I don't even know of an equivalent for 2e. Like,>Mithril Full Plate +1 (100CP) (Free: Warrior) - Blank / Reinforced, Durable, Restful, Halfweight, Command /I'm pulling off of known armor Enhancements, Dungeon Master's Guide II's race-based special crafting, and Dragon magazine 358's special Artisan Craftsman feat. In this balance calculation, this item is supposed to be worth 2 Class levels or 2 Challenge Ratings. Giving those are permanent upgrades rather than an item, I have to make it even more valuable. So, it's more worth 3, maybe 4 Classes. There's a superficial item descriptor you can add on to items, but I forget where it's at. I think it's in one of the Dungeon Master's Guides. A weapon that stays Filthy or Clean, that sort of thing, but doesn't give explicit bonuses. Need to find it.
>>98165679Magic Signature Item Traits. DMG2. Found it.
>>98163400>so it makes me feel like I'm pissing into the windWait, that makes you feel this way and posting in a dead thread doesn't?
>>98169138Plenty of company here.
I have finished briefly describing the 59 classes, and over arching Class Level general perk. It's over 3,300 total words, 9 and a half pages. It's has more words than my entire Going Over Jump. I can now try and start the actual Jump. I would have had more done sooner, but I had super errands IRL for the like last week.
>>98169467>It's over 3,300 total words, 9 and a half pages. If you put all that into the one Class Level perk, that sounds retarded and unnecessary. And you probably fucked up by going all-in on mechanics-fagging and defining things best left to fanwank. If that's everything so far, including the 59 classes, that's surprisingly light.
>>98169546>defining things best left to fanwank.Fanwank get ye gone, Homebrew is the Devil. We autism /numberz/ gang. I tried to give a brief but three sentence accurate description of each class. Enough for someone to look into it further themselves if I sold it right. Some like Truenamer just end 'this is meta mechanically bad, don't'.>that's surprisingly light. You're damn fucking right it is. This shit takes enormous effort. I'm fucking constantly cross-referencing shit. I'm worried about things being balanced against themselves, and the mechanics and lore which often contradict each other. I want someone to be able to roll up a character alongside all the options.
>>98169546To clarify, just 9 and half are the classes, not the full document. I haven't even named everything yet. I have broad concepts of what I'm doing. Trying to refine things in my head. Like I posted this earlier >Mithril Full Plate +1 (100CP) (Free: Warrior) - Blank / Reinforced, Durable, Restful, Halfweight, CommandI have refined it to this.>Mithral Full Plate +1 (100CP) (Free: Warrior) - Blank / Clean, Acid Washed, Durable, Reinforced, Halfweight, RestfulI have settled on roughly 30k max gold cost for 100CP items. I know Acid Washed is redundant, but I'm going for 6 per item and trying not to double dip, but it also helps against Disintegration Saves.I know what I'm doing, but giving up the goat beyond this will make me lose steam. I am compelled to shitpost when I do things because of that nervous schizo energy, and the lack of posts just means I'm spamming. Think I will go to bed.I should really make a Succubus Jump after this. Absolutely terrible setting and a complete waste of my time to do, but it would be different. That particular worm is eating a hole in my brain. All the perks are there.>This Feels Dark, Even for HellHas been burned into my brain.
>>98169467I would normally be concerned but I've done things in my own jumps that reach similar heights so I'm in no position to judge. And well, there's also the Dragonlance jump precedent.>>98169652>I know what I'm doingDoubt.
For those not in the bunker. Here is a John carter of Mars (Barsoom book series) WIP. This is an old pulp fiction series written by the same guy that created Tarzan. >>98190410That sounds like a good idea, though, maybe I am mistaken but I thought the new jump was for the show. It's funny I was all ready to use Homelander as a punching bag like the rest of the internet but then I saw a video where All Might crossed over to that universe and it reminded me Homelander was human and didn't have much choice in what he became. He was cultivated to be a useful monster. I just wondered if you could genuinely be a friend to the guy and not want anything from him could you maybe lead him in to being a better person. It's probably hopeless. Hell even in the story All Might very reluctantly had to kill Homelander but I just wonder if given a choice, if given a chance could he be anything different.

I'm sitting at 23 pages, 6,673 words. I have everything but origin perks, origin items, and drawbacks done. Notes will come as they come. I think people will like the level compromise I made. It's also easier to allow Companions when things like Leadership exists, let alone Epic Leadership. I spent a lot of time balancing class levels, race CR purchase, and the general gold value purchase. I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing, but I have a lot of shit to read. I don't know if I can bring myself to read so many of them again, but there's some really interesting feats in Dragon Magazines. I won't reread every physically published sourcebook and supplement, but I'm pretty sure I've at least looked over literally all of them at one point or another. It basically comes down to me remembering what exist. I don't think I'm going to work this year, at least not my months-long work, so I'll probably keep chipping away at this.

>>98203565There's more than one place where it says "create" when it should be "creature". Also I feel your approach to the keywords is too mechanical, it's particularly glaring in the references to "Vancian magic".
>>98209092People complained that Mirrodin didn't have enough references to the card game, so can't please everyone. There's not really a lore version of any of the keywords that I could use anyway. (Except Graft, which is just a totally normal backdoor you can program into cytoplasts with the general mage Perk. So a version that lets you use it the way it works in game is a perfectly valid upgrade, especially in one of the guilds that was most hurting for content.)
>>98209368Referencing game mechanics is a good idea, it's just that the execution here feels clumsy. Also there's too many typos to list, you should read through what you wrote.

>>98209529What would you prefer?>>98209606...I swear that I'm not retarded, and that this is only because they keep mentioning that the language they speak is called Ravi, so I'm only slightly retarded.
>>98209882>What would you prefer?A less direct approach. Try to imagine what goes on in-universe when the mechanic is in play based on the cards that have it and then build the perk on that. At the very least, try to remove references to "Vancian magic". Something like Replicate is pretty much good as is, more mana for more effects is straightforward enough. Something like Dredge, on the other hand, could be something like gaining power through single-mindedness or obsession or sacrificing the breadth of your repertoire for improving your signature spells as a possible example.
Is this a stupid Idea? There is a Jump with a megacorp. Surprisingly it's not cyber punk. I was going to have my Jumper take a job there as a Janitor. Just doing their job dropping subtle hints to the people they actually like and watch the daily chaos a bit and see how long it takes someone to try and kill them. My jumper may also discretely get rid of a few people who need to be removed from existence. One guy likes to to kill Asian woman and has a tattoo that symbolizes cannibalism, so probably going to have to clean the gene pool a bit.
>>98210299Stupid in what way? It's definitely not a very constructive use of you time overall but if that's what you want to do then that's what you want to do. As for things like risks and danger, it's impossible to comment on those without knowing your jumper's capabilities.
>>98209976Of the three ones that deal with hands/decks (the Vancian ones), Transmute isn't even really Dimir themed in the first place in the game. Removing the Vancian part just means you know every spell. Even restricted to MtG magic that feels too powerful. Your proposal for Dredge just barely resembles the game if you squint, and "obsession" doesn't fit the Golgari themes at all, while regaining spells through sacrifice is a good fit for regrowing stuff from the corpses of sacrifices. Hellbent is the most obvious to deal with. "Your magic is stronger when you're low on resources and out of breath." But I've already used it twice, so in for a penny and all that.
>>98210382>Transmutenta, but work backwards from Cipher. If Dimir's all about information, then flavor Transmute to be the idea that you can substitute components or methods to cast one spell for another of roughly equivalent cost, with something like a tradeoff of using the gathered materials for the one spell to shorten the casting window/lessen timing restrictions needed to cast the other you were trying to cast or replicate the required components for the other spell or something. It'd take a bit more fiddling to get the exact flavor right, but it's not difficult to get the idea of the information control guild with a shapeshifting impersonator guild master using its understanding of (stolen) spells to figure out how to index the means to cast a spell through the components/knowledge of another spell.
>>98210559Spellcasting methods barely matter in MtG. No one is identifying spells via chants or hand movements, and though hiding what spell you're casting is Dimir themed, it's got nothing to do with the Transmute mechanic. "Materials" is even worse. At least Vancian spellcasting exists on other planes. Nobody in the MtG multiverse waves around bat guano to summon fireballs.
>>98210340Well the Jumper will be well above the power of the entire setting. To such an extent that nothing there could probably hurt them.I suppose this would be a bit of trying to see how much you can alter/interact with a setting with a very light touch. Just give certain characters a nudge here and there and see what happens. Also the idea of a god-like being serving as a Janitor for a company of people that think they are the most important thing in the world seems amusing to me. I suppose you could say that it's a way of trying to keep some lower power settings interesting.
I'm trying to finish figuring out what I'm doing with items today. 200CP Martial origin item. Assume the origin is focused around melee. Choose. Keep in mind that just because an item is listed as existing doesn't mean it actually exists in-world or is otherwise easily obtainable, and that because something is expensive doesn't mean it's broken. There's a 200CP magic item I'm offering for a different origin that's over 300,000 gold, but is less powerful than some otherwise commonly available items. Which of the two do you think is best in slot?
>>98211935>just because an item is listed as existing doesn't mean it actually exists in-world or is otherwise easily obtainableThis might be true in most settings, but given this is the Forgotten Realms we're talking about, there's a 300% chance not only that it exists but that there are multiple of them. Assuming we're talking about published items and not OC shit of your invention.
>>98211967Magic items are rare, I mean. Even some equipment listed in the statblocks of a few Divine characters I have read are not especially impressive. I have never seen a legitimate +12 item, as an example. Just because these things can be made doesn't mean they are.
>>98211935How about a minor magical swords (At first) however when it breaks another magical weapon it gains the enchantment of the weapon. It's like the Highlander but for swords.
>>98212124I'm trying to OC as little as possible. I did 5 armors and 1 sword based on armor and weapon enhancements. I calculated their prices and cross-referenced them with things which already exist. The problem I had before doing that was finding listed equipment that was relatively optimized, and or correctly reflected the origins. There's a general option for 50CP per 10,000 gold of an item, so I'm tempted to just go with the Cabinet. I have offered 1 artifact weapon thus far. You will never have heard of it. The closest I could come to your suggestion would be something to do with the Legacy Weapon system, but I have never interacted with that in my life, but it would fit one of the origins perfectly. Fuck me. Fine. I downloaded Weapons of Legacy. I'll look at it.I'll have you know I bought material that I couldn't find online to check things. This all will get done, if only for that.
>>98212170I was just trying to give a cool suggestion not make extra work. Say for the mage item maybe have a book that protects your magic from edition changes and shit happening to the weave.
>>98212200IIRC, the excuse they used to change edition from 3.5 was Cyric killing Mystra in 1385. I'm dropping you in at the end of 1373 because that's when the Dracorage ended, and people will want to be dragons but won't know the lore and would otherwise fuck themselves. It won't come up. I have a perk to kind of address this based on a Feat, but it's not exactly that.
I finally did it!Here's the completed Mob Psycho 100 jump!https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Q9jvaqQfe3uYXpSkn4Er3UvowKF-CAg8/view?usp=drivesdk
>>98212289Body Improvement Club ftw
>>98212289This is gonna be really funny when somehow the memory of why anons get names here outlasts the memory of what your first completed jumpdoc actually was...
>>98213049Ah yes Red, creator of the famous Masters of Red jump
I am stuck on a clear liquid diet for today. Toss me some jumps so that I can vent my rage. Alternatively toss me some jumps with good food so I can dream about actually eating food.
>>98212289Congrats.
>>98214093My first was actually Chain of Memories. I was originally called Bigmun and rebranded myself to PsychoAnon way later because Bigmun was a retarded name. I didn't call myself CoManon or anything like that because it also kinda sucked. Thus I chose Psycho because it was a more decent name
>>98215260Cyberpunk 2077. There are plenty of places where you should go full Doomguy there.
>>98216101Okay, so I somehow left out that my second jump was Psycho Waluigi. Kinda important context.
>>98215260i had a rage chain once, just make a chain out of violent 80s-90s action movies jumps like predator and terminator, start by owning a minigun
>>98215260God of War. Plenty of people to beat up, most of them even deserve it.
>>98217137Then why didn't you suggest Hazbin Hotel?
What are the current WIPs in the bunker?Any planned updates of previous jumps?
>>98222099Hitoner will eventually get an update, but I'm waiting for the serialization to continue.
>>98222099I have just barely started a reread of Planescape in preparation for a jump.
>>98215260I hope your prostate exam went well.
>>98222254It wasn't a prostate exam it was a colonoscopy. For a prostate exam I think they just shove a finger up there to feel around, for a colonoscopy they shove an entire camera. Getting old sucks and sometimes they shove a camera up your ass.
>>98203565I didn't know a lot of the lore for Ravnica. This is sick.I wonder if I could get Jumper to sleep with Niv-Mizzet within ten years.
>>98217227Because it also contains hot people and probably good food. Compare that to the literal hellscape of Hazbin where everything just sucks.
>>98224892> hot people and probably good foodAh, so the opposite of England then.
>>98227648I don't know I find English accents kind of sexy. I am sure there are a few English women I wouldn't kick out of bed. You are perfectly right about the food though. If you have an English wife either learn to cook yourself or have someone else do it. They like crap like beans on toast.
Being scried on by wizards or having the moves of me and my companions watched by the spirits of the deceased sounds kind of creepyIf only there was some kind of perk (that I knew about) that I could use so that I wouldn't have to fear being creeped on
>>98228535Inheritance Cycle has one IIRC.
I'm interested in reading writeups. Any good way of following a jumper from their first jump? I tried to find Shard's in the archives and now that's an hour I won't be getting back
>>98233373I think it depends on what you are looking for the write ups for. If you just want to see what things people will choose. Well that's a little tough now. I would have said trickery, just post a "You get a chain but..." that they have to post a write up of the first 10 jumps or something. Things are a little dead right now though. If you are looking for actual story or summery there are a few around. We have a writefag section on the drive, and there are other ones that can be found on places like space battles or fan fiction.net or you can always try google.
I am calling John Carter of Mars finished. I have gone through and found all the typos I could see and think it looks good. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_V8yeDBaGZB4Ap2IzvLhYUwcx62B4L6P/edit
>>98236882Don't know anything about the setting. Looks good to me.
>>98235444I see>If you just want to see what things people will choose.Yeah its the simpler ones mostly. I know some of these have gone for like a hundred jumps because that's the number they are at in the archive or bunker. It's annoying to have bunch of these around with no context
>>98237332It was first written out of spite and I think that was funny. The guy hated the fiction at the time and claimed he could writ the most generic brain rot and make it sale. The guy also wrote Tarzan. But John Carter is who Superman was originally based on.
>>98237715I thought Superman was based on Moses.
>>98237725More his from another people thing is. His original powers are based on John Carter. Super jump and super strength for the most part. Early Superman has no flight or laser eyes. He just kept gaining more powers as new writers came and went
>>98237735It's kind of funny that someone who decided they were going to create stupid shlock and get it to sell inspired the greatest Super Hero. Which reminds me since Krypton was supposed to be a planet with much greater gravity than Earth, shouldn't Superman be a dwarf?
>>98240434you aren't accounting for the alien odor and the red sun particles
>>98240790>alien odorWut? I never heard Superman smells funny. As far as the red sun I don't see how that would affect things. Eh possibly.
>>98240790>alien odor
Since we're on the topic, was an explanation ever given as to why kryptonians look exactly like humans?
>>98242197Best fan theory I saw was that since the Oans were the first species in DC they imprinted the underlying metaphysics of the universe with a humanoid template. So the idea was that in DC you basically have it so that sentient species naturally turn humanoid kind of like carcinization with crabs.
14 drawbacks and 34 items done in two days. 6 more and then perks, and then I'll be done. 36 pages. Everything moves so much faster when I have it named. I'm trying to get it done by the end of the month.>>98242197Superman is literally a fundamental building block of the DC universe. More like that Humans look like Superman. Or you can take the Presence / Christ / God stance.
>>9824238411 drawbacks, I'm going cross-eyed.
Having a hard time understanding the capabilities of a Noble/Imperator in Nobilis. Are there any other sources I could refer to apart from the rulebooks for Nobilis inquiries?
>>98242391Well the way I see it we need to get you 3 more drawbacks.*Everyone in your party and the world around acts like they are drunk/high to simulate those who get inebriated and play DnD.*You are treated like an NPC everyone forgets you exist especially when it's time to doll out treasure. However in combat all the enemies always remember you.* You were made by an edge lord, the angst is overwhelming and anyone you get close too dies. Your family is dead and even batman would tell you to chill the fuck out.
>>98242451There's this website which will point you to a list of blog posts, I suppose. https://karmachameleon.github.io/arcs/ Though they're all for Chuubo's where reality has collapsed with messes with powers definitions while also making them weaker. Or you could just ask about what you're having trouble understanding.
>>98242459Ah. Sorry. Two of those are +0 Toggles. I usually do 3 100, 3 200, 3 300 because I always have a drawback CP limit. I just post my progress because it keeps me accountable. I don't start on drawbacks, perks or items until everything else in the document is finished. Items are just a lot of copying and pasting things with pronoun and grammar clarification. Actually finding worthwhile items is harder than porting them. I'm leaning on mechanical descriptions for the Jump which might make some people mad, but hard numbers have always been the draw for me to 3.5. I've been watching Ed Greenwood's YouTube for lore while doing this, and he often clarifies such things himself. I am expecting a basic understanding of the mechanics of the setting, but I have literally and otherwise highlighted things to try and help. Moving and schmoozing. Thanks though. People have been engaged with this more than other things. Hopefully I do it just, and otherwise didn't shoot myself in the foot with that thing that I did.
>>98242475Thanks for the link, I'll check it out and if there are any other questions I'll ask over here.
chinbutt you can't take jumps, you need to construct it out of previously made short (2-10 jump) chains of your own
>>98244204Fine. There's like 2 or 3 of those that could string together into something relatively coherent. What happens if you haven't completed the build for a jump in any given source chain(s)?
>>98244204Interesting. Is this just jump selection with new builds based upon the old chains or do we have to keep the old builds? Also what about duplicate jumps where we took the same jump in both chains, I take it we skip after the first one.
Can you import a ring into the Ruling Ring in The Lord of the Rings?
>>98245614No
>>98245614Sure.
>>98246498Fantastic, thanks for answering!
>>98246498Minor followup, I assume that the same applies to other items and that 100 Perks/items are free when discounted?
>>98246722I'm generally fine with imports in general. If you think it makes sense go ahead. Also yes, discounts are always free for 100 (or 50) cp stuff.

>permabanned from the bunker because I dared to question the garbage moderation It's crazy how both 9anon and Gene basically didn't care about being board owners and did nothing, and every single problem stems from this faggot Jannington getting high on the "power" being a janny gives him. That one report spamming anon can get any post deleted and Nyanko can keep blogposting about off-topic shit, but the moment someone else does it they get banned. Oh well, it was obvious it would come to this. /jc/ moved away from 4chan and immediately everything started feeling more reddit, with the thread just being the clique of ~10 people blogposting about whatever. We had a good run, but I guess after more than a decade, anything will die. Let my last post be that Nyanko provides 0 value to this world and his jumps are fucking garbage nobody cares about, people like and use mine much more. But to the discord/reddit fags someone with a name spam posting about nothing means they are good, or something.

Chainbutt: You have to choose a non-humanoid form and you're stuck with it (in broad terms, your exact appearance can still change and you're not limited to a particular size). Trying to control bodies outside of what you chose won't work out well. Race options and such are adapted to your chosen form. What's your shape and where are you headed?
>>98250412>what's your shape Tentacle monster.>where are you headedEverywhere.
>>98250412Fuuuuck. I am torn between being a fox and a cat. I know I SHOULD pick dragon. That's the most obvious choice. Sadly I don't think I could be a Neco Arc, that would be too humanoid. I think I will go to Skyrim (Tod Howard's choice) and be that Khajit that is just a talking cat. I'm going to be a useless talking cat that messes with drunken people and crazies. Sadly I can't think of a good jump to be a fox in. I don't think we have a fox and the hound jump.
>>98250453Reminds me of the time I tentacle raped the multiverse in a TTRPG. There were other fun moments as well, such as when the party, "superheroes", intentionally plunged the Earth into the Sun killing everyone.

>>98248734>>98248734> it would have been a good idea to use it, but if this is truly your last postEspecially since if it's your actually quitting the hobby. you stand nothing to lose, and if you were someone like Shard, that could actually potentially get the tide to turn against Nyanko. But I'm pretty sure as long as you're literally anyone but DD and Generic, people would still take you seriously, albeit it wouldn't have quite the same effect. Not that they/you wouldn't have a point if you actually were them, but the community hates them because they're some of the few people to ever dissent.
>>98252081Not him or any namefag for that matter but that attitude has been a cancer on this community since way before the split. Anonymity is the main selling point of imageboards. Taking persistent identities should be frowned upon, not respected.
>>98252148Yeah, but it's a battle you literally cannot win. Even YJ, inarguably one of most based and redpilled namefags we have ever had (and yes, I know that's a low bar), took the position that only namefags should be allowed to have an opinion. >https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/86634092/#86638453>https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/86634092/#86639072He even defended Nyanko a couple times:>https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/82203189/#82203437>https://archive.4plebs.org/tg/thread/88990322/#88990859 (here he even refuses to "name the Nyanko" in a discussion explicitly calling out the shit Nyanko is known for)Again, even despite this, he was one of the few namefags in the history of Jumpchain who ever called out off-topic posting or literal faggotry spam. And, for better or worse, namefags have always been the drivers of change within this community, being responsible for among other things Exalted and dupes being allowed. Yeah, maybe namefags shouldn't be held in such high regard, but as far as this community goes, you're basically asking for a magical utopia on par with luxury gay space communism where everyone is immortal. Hell, even early Jumpchain was pretty clique-ish with Quicksilver and his buddies like Red; it was essentially doomed from the start. It doesn't matter if you hate namefagging on principle. Choosing not to back your opinions with a name is voluntarily surrendering to the most insufferable segment of the community.
>>98252174We do have something of a chance for a fresh start now that they've moved to their ego-stroking festering grounds. Build a new culture, rewrite the OP to include a proper introduction to Jumpchain and separate our drive from from theirs. Most importantly, give anyone trying to take a name in this thread the same kind of treatment they'd get in pretty much any other thread on this site.
