anyone playing? I started getting into it last year and really like it. Bad rolls can be frustrating and good rolls can be nice - surely there is some skill to the game, yes? I play vs AI with GnuBG and on Backgammon Galaxy sometimes

What wolrdbuilding?

It is the worst kind of game. Some skill? Sure. However the ceiling is very low and as long as both opponents are not retarded, the rest is just luck. So the role of luck increases, not decreases, the better you play, which sucks dick.

I mean the skill and rules knowledge requires more than checkers.
But it is an old game that has persevered for a long time because people love it.
Probably not to the degree of chess but it survives because it is good.

Shitposting doesn't magically become okay just because other people do it too.

What shitposting exists in your setting?

I played a lot of backgammon with my mum while she was going through chemo. Obviously skill matters somewhat but there's enough luck involved that she stands a chance of winning even when she was feeling shit.
