An actual hot actually intelligent, actually evil villain is a TPK every time.They were fighting a young adult black Dragon and I give all dragons the Alternate Form su ability. Once it figured out it was cornered by a party that could actually defeat it, it turned into a raven haired teenage goth girl to beg for mercy (described her as Nancy Downs with slightly sharp teeth in silver jewelry and nothing else), and there were two PCs dead to other PCs in the very next round of combat, and she accepted healing from the Ranger before wiping the rest of the party.Like, it’s a naked ploy by an acid spitting evil lizard that was trying to kill you 6 seconds ago and 3 of the 5 PCs still fell for it. It wasn’t even the players who are single.

>>98147525The two people who wanted to put her in the negatives were mad as hell right up until she leaned into kiss the ranger as thanks and ripped out his throat in a coup de grâce action (I asked him explicitly if his character was resisting or defending himself at all). The three simps were mad as hell for weeks, and still feel betrayed.Our games are reasonably lethal, most players will lose at least one character over the course of a 5-10 level campaign, so the character deaths weren’t as big of a deal as the betrayals, both in the party and of the imagined social contract between the simps and I as the DM.
