Had a concept for a SM color scheme, the grey is supposed to be a metallic paint, the yellow is a gold metallic and the belt should look like leather. The red gorget around the neck would probably be hell to paint on each individual space marine, maybe it would work better as a Sergeant marking. So what are Raptors exactly? The have jump packs, they have pistols and chain swords, they can take a bunch of pseudo power fists but then they can also take a shitload of ranged weapons? Up to 4 special weapons in a squad of 10 so 2 melta and 2 plasma, or 2 flamers. I'm grateful for all the options but what the fuck is their role with all these choices? It seems like GW loves to just throw the kitchen sink at Chaos units. And then if you do take all the options, you're left with one lone guy in a unit of 10 with a chainsword and pistol. Melta and power fists are decent light armor can openers but not a real threat against armor. 4 plasma shots is decent for deleting a marine or two before charging.

I think its pretty disingenuous to win by taking advantage of an opponents obvious lapse. That said, being able to just roll with your mistakes will also make you a better player, constantly needing to go back and fix mistakes will just make you kind sloppy and lazy and it can be disingenious if you can benefit from new information (for example, not dropping some infantry someplace, but then firing on a target and realizing that you need their firepower elsewhere and while sure you lapsed in using them, by bringing them on, you're still benefiting) so in this case its best practice to acknowledge your mistakes and use it as a learning moment so that in the future you player cleaner, tighter and faster.
