What's a good 500 point Tau list if I want to do stealth sniping? I really wanna get into 40k tabletop but don't want to be the bazillionth space marines player.

>>98152340They exist in so far as you can technically play that, but in general IRL play the small game size is 1000 points. For baby's first warhammer game people do combat patrol, which actually simplifies the matter significantly, you just buy the combat patrol.

The rationale being anyone playing a game that size is entirely new and doesn't know what the fuck is going on at all so here is what you play with until you get enough stuff to play a proper size game.
>>98152499In theory you can play 500 points, but in practice almost everyone except for complete beginners plays 1000 if they want to have a smaller scale battle or plays Kill Team if they want something on a really small scale. 500 is playable and it can be fun, but it's an awkward middle ground where it's already too big to be a fast game or have in-depth mechanics for individual models, but usually not big enough to allow some more fun list building
