>>98171879>TQ My FEC warband likes eating spites and envision them as seafood.
getting the free miniature yesterday was a hassle, they make you assemble the thing on the spot, not even a chair
>>98171879>TQMy Lizardmen? Sit in their Flying city and Wait until Slaan has (or Sking tells them he had) a Weird dream. Or Fight with the local Dark Creatures. Gotta stay in shape and Eat. My Daughters of Khaine? I guess exept sparing sessions and sacrifices they like to make new Khachkars since It's a thing from their Homeland.
>40k is dyingWhat does this mean for AoS?
>>98171946Sub assembly disrespectors
>>98171967death editions are the best
>>98171905>>98171996Why are there so few examples of multi- Orc armies? Big Waaagh is a thing but there's almost no content about it. The idea of a Kruleboy-Ironjaw mashup is super appealing but I can't find any examples where they've actually been tied together.
>>98171967>the "TLW" rumors weren't for AoS, they're for 40k, leakers just assumed otherwise because >imblygin 40k could ever flop
>>98172009>The idea of a Kruleboy-Ironjaw mashup is super appealing Is it? I feel like the aesthetics are so far removed they barely feel like the same race, much less a coherent faction. I love all the kruelboyz stuff but don't care at all for the 40k style of the ironjawz
>>98172009Because it's got bad rules and does not mesh visually. It was same thing when bonesplitters were forced with IJ, only thing people took in mix was shamans and sometimes archers from BS, but otherwise same story. Well I'd argue it's worth with Kruelz and IJ because they share completely different type of fans compared to BS and IJ.
>>98171760Damn, that shit looks great>>98171996Despite both obviously being orcs they're very different aside from that, both visually and thematically. Even gameplay wise they're almost opposites. They're really just two armies sharing one book.
>>9817201340k could flop one day, if GW puts way too much money into it and the game loses popularity for one reason or another. Or if materials become difficult, oil shortages, trade issues screwing over UK exports, or just plain old unfun gameplay could all do it.
>>98171980The thing it's got a shield toosick freaks wanted me to glue it to the base too
>>98172068>or just plain old unfun gameplay could all do it.If that were true then there'd be drop of customers, not consistent yearly increase, with every edition since 8th edition.
>>98171967>>40kg dyingWhat happened this time, is 40kg doomposting again?
>>98171946As a perfectionist who takes all night to clean moldlines and glue things that sounds like a fucking nightmare
>>98171946That's fucking dumb. Your store manager is retarded. Mine just gives us the sprue in a little box.
>>98172009No synergy basically 1 spell and prayer
Guys if/when malerion and his guys come to the game what would you want them to look like? Dark elves 2.0, maybe with a twist like lumineth or sylvaneth are to high and wood elves? Oldhammer reference like kruleboyz? Total reinterpretation like ossiarch?Personally I'm not the biggest fan of the shadow elf aesthetic we've seen in underworlds and warcry so far, I would kind of want something more like the tenebrael shard from silver tower, though I'm well aware those odds are slim. Also give em a chariot. We're dreadfully lacking in chariots.
>>98171946Every time there's a new mini of the month, I take my kids along and watch proudly as they butcher a pair of models and slap them together without a care. We then take them home to drown them in contrast paint and play 'spearhead' which is actually just rolling an arbitrary number of dice and seeing who gets the best rolls.
>>98172345>want them to look like Korean/joseon elves
>>98172352Based familyman
>>98171946I guess to stop re-sell?
>>98172095The majority of the 40k playerbase currently is post 8th people. They were reared in a shit cave, so for them the shit cave is what 40k is „ supposed „ to be. They don’t have any other measure to realize that they are playing a terrible game. Although it is nice to see the Armageddon box not selling out.
>>98171946>You have to buy something >No, the paint bundle doesn't qualify you for it >No, you can't pick a model. You'll get a zombie when I build it. Wait around. >Some woman walks in >Yeah, I'll build you the Vargskyr right away. How about one of the heroes too?
>>98172041Big Waaagh isn't supposed to mesh, it's O&G basically. I think comptards are just antifun
>>98172486I agree, just explaining why you don't see em muchI think o&g were much much bettter integrated honestly
>>98172564You never see AoR period. I think tournaments bar them or they're just too restrictive.
>>98172584I don't think tournaments ban them, they're not usually much good anyway.AoR or not I just don't think mixed ironjawz and kruleboyz are all that appetizing for reasons outlined above.
>>98172584the problem with them is they're just really REALLY badly written. they became a running joke for a while because the first year of battletomes AoR's legitimately did not function, as in had rules that mechanically didnt work or excluded some feature or unit they directly referenced within their own effects, it was completely nonsensical like it was written by AI that was hallucinating and just making up garbage and obviously never playtested once.
>>98172584Like 90% of Armies of Renown are unplayable garbage, it's not because they're restricted, they just suck balls.
>>98171946The store I go to just gives you the box with the mini, that sounds awful. Also, the Lizardmen have such cool models
>>98171879>TQPic relatedAlso been busy this weekend, gym+moving house so have been pretty tired, here's the entire DoK tome.https://imgur.com/a/QuwClT7
>>98172712Snapped the photos super quick, if any are blurry I can retake them once I get back from the gym
>>98172685Yeah it's a shame. No reason to play the all skelly AoR for example over just normal sbgl. Hell it's probably less thematic too as you'll lose a lot of your resurrection.
>>98172429No the manager is just having a power trip
>>98171946at my store it requires a 20 dollar min purchase and you have to bring your own glue, if you don't you have to buy more glue and the store owner stares at you intently while you assemble it complaining that you're slowing down the line and he wants to take his lunch break soon
>>98171946Damn, I would hate it because before building the mini I usually clean mold lines and prime the sprue with spray paint (I put tape on the spots where you are suposed to glue things or connect them(for push-in models)) (sometimes I paint somethings before removing the piece from the sprue)
>>98172758bruh it's thematic af what're you talking about you compfag
>>98172875>only compfags would complain that the special skelly army is actually worse at doing the nr 1 skelly thing of bringing skellies back than just normal vanilla sbglCome on now
>>98172352https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lp6zi0uh-00is this you?
>>98172887>once per turn recursion without a roll off >thematic grave guard rules for your grave guard skellies >two artefacts of power because you get to field Beowulf's skeleton and his best bro Just admit you hate skeletons
>>98171946I have been to a few different ones and all of them make you build it in store. They're not hovering over you so you can leave the shield off which I have done with things like the Chaos Warrior
>>98172031> it's worth with Kruelz and IJ because they share completely different type of fans compared to BS and IJ.What’s the difference between Kruleboyz and Ironjawz fans
>>98172352SOVL
>>98173047Ironjawz>fast >big >buffs >anti-everything in your face get fucked now Kruleboyz >crit >squishy >sneaky tricks >ranged heavy anti-monster tech because they're weak
>>98173047kruleboys fans like orcsironjaws fans hate non-orcs
>>98171946is this a Bong thing? I went to 2 stores in the US and just grabbed em and left.
>>981720958th edition was fun, it still had fun rules, custom chapter tactics and guard regiments, a bunch of command traits and artefacts that were not the "Most of it is not useful so cut it" compfagging. Only bad thing about it are Stratagems, 9th is when it became bad
>>98172345Instead of making Dark Elves GW should just give Idoneth Akhelian infatry with options for Helbards and Crossbow/harpoons as replacement for Executioners and Dark shards, a shame they still dont have any heavy infantry, their armor is great. And instead of making chaos dwarfs they should've given Fyreslayers a big fire robot and artyllery. THeres too much factions already, and for every update for an old Fantasy things Old World exists
>>98172696Huh? Miniatures of the months always come on a separate sprue
>>98173207That's why I said every edition since 8th, as 8th was massive improvement over 7th and only really tail-spinned at the end when GW decided that game-breaking space marine supplements is what the game needed right before 9th launched and made the game beyond awful to play with every edition.
>>98173230Ah my bad, i thought you meant since start of 8th
Aside from the rules, I think one of the big problems 40K has is a shortage of actual new shit in terms of models. Like the new edition box, the marine side is beyond boring, just from looks I can't name a single new (or good looking) thing it adds to the hyper bloated marine range. The ork side does look pretty cool, but like, it's still just orks. There's a bajillion pretty similar looking ork models that have been released over the last several years. Say what you want about AoS, but when they release a new model, it's usually not something with five earlier versions of the exact same unit/hero that you can directly compare it to.
>>98173264>I can't name a single newBecause there is nothing new, theres Bolter Eradicators, but they are just an alternate loadout essentially, maybe they will even keep it to one unit but with build options. If you think this is bad, you should look at Marine release history before Primarisation, with units being re-released every other edition. What people are missing, is that its a STARTER BOX, your avarage space marine player has a shit ton of Intercessors by now obviously, but a new player doesnt, it doesnt have to have all the new stuff
Hello /aosg/, I ran a few one-shots of age of sigmar soulbound, and my group really likes it. I want miniatures, but GW prices are more than I want to pay for ttrpg minis. Any recommendations of STL mini makers that I can proxy in for RPG use?
>>98173346Depends on what faction you want, if you want Skaven Highland miniature make very good ones for Old world/fantasy.You can also try looking up some less than legal sources for miniatures
>>98173346>>98173352Also, would be better if you told us who are the PCs, maybe there some stuff that could be recomended based on that. And if you decide to go with GW plastics, Underworlds warbands are a great value, 10-20 quid on Ebay, for nice vertical slice of a faction, really nice for encounters
>>98173352Good player models for Dwarves and Stormcast Eternals. My players are made up of those two groups. Death knight type chaos dudes on horses/dragons as our primary antagonists. I have plenty of other monster miniatures to sub in for orcs and undead.
>>98173361These underworld warbands might be exactly what I was looking for as player models!
>>98173365For basic Dwarves, Slayers and Chaos guys you could also look up Highland miniatures, dont know anyone making Kharadron stuff.Sin's miniatures make more AoSy Chaos guys.If you dont mind Fatcasts (personally i prefer them, but whatever) Theres still plenty of older fatcasts going for dirt cheap, also dont forget to look into the Spearhead magazines, great values on those. And if you dont mind recasts, i wont name them, because im not sure if we are allowed, but will give you a clue, first one is: ****Gods - ****Miniatures. Second one is Name of the Tortuga equivalent in Warhammer Fantasy + .top
>>98173411I think this should cover all my needs after a quick skim. Cheers!
>>98172408Says you
>>98173387If you want to look into the UW warbands, heres the ones useful for PC'sAnd heres release history to look into all the ones they did>https://www.tga.community/blogs/entry/2461-aos-release-history/
>>98173346Highland, titanforge, avatars of war, and artisan guild. All on myminifactory, huge catalogues, should have a proxy for just about everything in the game. Also if you need nighthaunt specifically check out fleshcraft studio
>>98172685I mean it was explicitly advertised as a different more thematic and narrative focused way to play. Its not for people playing to tier whore
>>98173469>narrative focused way to play.>That one Stormcast AoR where its just named characters
>>98173264Imo 40k would benefit of more Space Marines Adventures+Space Marines Heroes on normal products.People complain of scenic rocks but cool bases add so much to minis imo.I wish they did an introductory small company/army thing for 40k (not like combat patrol or kill team) with scenic miniatures, it would do wonders to it.For exemple Underworlds do so much for AoS. It introduces new players to it (by first having a contained boardgame experience), it gives new sculpts and models for old players, and it expand a bit on small lore (micro lore) that makes the world look more alive.(If they did something like a mixture of 40k tactus and AoS Underworlds for 40k I would probably buy the shit out of it)
>>98173476Characters in stories often have names
>>98171879Probably kick back and gamble, I can't stand the regular steelhelms, but the fusiliers are quite lovely. How's this look?
>>98173577Pretty cool. If painted up like Settler's Gain, I could see them almost like LRL-weeaboos mimicking wardens with the greatcoats.
>>98173577I really like it, that gorget makes it look like they could really slog it out
>>98173215Black guard.Executioners should be DoK models
Anyone knows a place with re-casts of Warcry terrain? Really liked playing on it in my wargaming club, but im not buying plastics of GW terrain.>>98173764Yeah whatever, armored elves with polearms
