there we go
If anyone wants to write their own build descriptions let me know.
>>98176206What's the chance this goes anywhere?Tempted to join but am writing for SC.
>>98176264>What's the chance this goes anywhere?Low, same as everything we've done in the last year.
>>98176264Its not going anywhere, its had three threads already
>>98176264Capeslop soon, trust the system. Lesser adventures have no staying power, this has been proven a thousand times already
>>98176264No clue. It doesn't appeal to me and if SC falls under I'll probably wait for something else to pop up that does, but going by the last thread there's a decent amount of interest so maybe it'll work.
What's the best organization and why is it the Anarch Movement?
>>98176573>AnarchFuck off to Seattle, this is a CHADamarilla thread
someone REALLY wants us to continue glazing SC...
>>98176670If it's more dumb power arguments, then I'd rather see that directed to fangerslop.
>>98176670Its not glazing, its the only viable option.
I'm not sure what to write for Montgomery's description. He didn't give me much to work with.
>>98176693Path of Conjuration summons a nuke and teaches these sun-immune freaks how other vampires feel when they see the dawn.
Diablerie only does anything if you eat someone stronger right? You cant have some 6th Gen eat like 100 10th gens and promote to 5th?
>>98177077They might improve in some ways like gaining new disciplines, but they'll never go up to 5th gen that way.
>>98177077It apparently tastes really good, but you won't increase in Generation.
>>98177077Yeah pretty much, since its all about how close you are to Cain. A million 5th gens couldn’t condense down to make you a 4th, it’d take a 4th or lower or pull you up because its based on chains of transmission.
>>98177129So say hypothetically, you diablerize Cain, and he decides to go along with it and help you because... reasonsYou'd become the big vamp instead then?
>>98177154That is one big hypothetical there. Might as well ask for a vampire to find the True Grail and mainline some vintage Big J material while youre at it
>>98177077>Make a Diablerie bait high level vampire>Everyone who feasts on my blood gets blood boundhaha suckers
>>98177154HIGHLY doubt it since he's cursed by God. Any of his kids though would theoretically work. Course they're all exponentially stronger than their childe, and a WEAK 3rd gen took nukes to the face with next to no effect.
>>98177077Their humanity would break past 0 and go negative. The beast would permanently be in control, leaving them a feral.Their mind would be filled with the chorus of a hundred vengeful voices locked in perpetual combat for control. They would become a beacon of unholy darkness that would send shivers down the spine of any kindred. And they would gain the ability to learn a bunch of disciplines.
>>98176206Question from last thread: Where and when are we playing? Probably in the USA, but where? Are we in the modern day a la "A World of Darkness"?
>>98177184Wasn't there some group whose whole plan was to diablerize God?
>>98177218Presumably this one
Updated the build list.If anyone has any suggestions or wants to write their own description let me know.https://rentry.org/547i2532
>>98177259I'll be altering Salvatore a lot to avoid the questionable exploit of the Daimonion. Sorry about wasting your time :(
>>98177227If God is all powerful, then it's possible to overthrow him.If God is not all powerful, then it's possible nothing could ever overthrow him.
>>98177154The power of all vampires comes from Cain. The power of Cain comes from God.Cain can do basically whatever he wants. He can compel you to obey him. He can raise and lower your generation at will. Hell, the whole reason vampires grow weaker with each generation is because Cain decided to make it work that way after the 3rd generations rebelled against the 2nd. The 2nd and 3rd generation were equally powerful, but in order to promote working together Cain made each generation get weaker from that point on.
>>98177356So powergaming anons just need to find Cain and ask him to raise their generation
>>98177304Wanna try that again?
>>98177384>Cain, please raise my generation!>Lmao sure. You're now a thinblood.>Wait wait no! I meant lower!
>>98177291NTA but I actually really liked him as he is. I really don’t think the “exploit” is that bad when it’s also acting as a sword hanging over his head. His backstory and Sire also were interesting and tied into the rest of the build nicely, since the curse suppressions can just be an extention of her desire to keep him alive and by her side. And at the end of the day compared to other vamps, he’s just a guy who can heal normally from flames after he gets burned and can get pleasure from food. Sure compared to what curses he would’ve had it seems a lot more but at the end of the day he’s still a vampire who can still be staked, dismembered, and so on.
>>98177388I meant exactly what I said.An all powerful being is capable of giving up their power.A being with limited power may exist in a universe where no world state will ever remove their powers. That is why you never want to be all powerful. It makes you vulnerable.
>>98177408This doesn't sound as smart as you think it does.
>>98177435So are you saying it's incorrect or...?
>>98177449Yes.
>>98177455And you're not going to back it up?
>>98177291Hes fine. We have several dedicated trolls trying to pick apart builds by any means necessary in order to shut down different adventures. If you didn't break any build rules, you're good.
>>98177408If you are all powerful, you have complete control over whether or not you give up your power. You conceded in your very post that the ability of a being with limited power to maintain their power is at the mercy of the world state. They have less agency and are therefore more vulnerable than an all powerful being.
>>98177397I mean, the core ideas will be similar, but instead of demons, it'll be fleshcrafting. I think it'll reduce the need for subterfuge, and help work with other PCs. The Sire relationship is still pretty similar, except rather than some supernatural similarity through the demonic pact, she just modifies the kidnapped great-grandson into the visage of her husband using Vicissitude. I think some other small twists might make their relationship more interesting too. Like, her Presence will be reduced, so there will be a little bit more space for him to realize how fucked up the situation is. The Blood-Bond will be one-sided due to his bane, so it might make her more abusive too. On the other hand, her legend animalism will help keep him in check because she regularly checks his memories through it. Also, that animalism combined with her envy might end up adding nice tension given that in a way he ended up stronger than her, leaping her in gen through diablerie and having more blood powers.
>>98177515I can use persuasive argument to convince an all powerful being to give up their power.I cannot do the same to a being who lacks the power to give up their power.Do you see the difference? For one, it's possible to lose power. For the other, it's impossible.
>>98177408r/philosophy tier post. I seriously can’t believe you typed this up and posted it.
>>98177641Go back. Don't return.
>>98177608You are assuming that the weaker being can't give up their powers. That isn't a given. They are at the whim of circumstance. They can also be convinced to give up indirect power or to otherwise act against their own wishes. That is true of anyone, whether they are the CEO or middle management. Someone who isn't all powerful can also be defeated by someone more powerful than themselves, obviously. That doesn't even get into the fact that an all powerful is arguably capable of making it impossible to lose his powers even if he is misled. No matter how you slice it, you are less vulnerable if you are all powerful.
>>98177679>>98177608>>98177515>>98177435>>98177408>its another episode of "lets force out 400 posts of nothing to kill another thread"
>>98177679>That doesn't even get into the fact that an all powerful is arguably capable of making it impossible to lose his powers even if he is misledIf an all powerful being makes it impossible for himself to give up his powers then he is no longer all powerful. He now has limited power. And you just proved my point for me. This all powerful being that gave up the power to give up his powers is now less vulnerable than he was when he was capable of giving up all his powers.
>>98177738I didn't make your point. I said that is arguable. He has total agency in this situation, because he is all powerful. That isn't the case for the person with limited power.
>>98177608YOU can't use a persuasive argument to accomplish anything. Also, that's just a dogshit trope used by shit writers. Realistically, an all-powerful being would just perfectly simulate the guaranteed outcome of whatever you were trying to accomplish and do it themselves, kill you, put you in an illusion and let you do what you wanted, etc.
Are we good to make our own candidates? Seems more interesting than having the same names and overlap. The caveat of course being they'd still have the same 3 ability 2 (or 1 upgraded) attribute limit.
>>98178440I initially thought you meant contacts and I was wary, but candidates are fair enough imo.
>>98178451Yeah that seems like too much. There's plenty of mortals so it seems unlikely everyone would gravitate to the same ones. Much smaller population of vamps though so I can see why many would share the same contacts.
>>98176393My theory is the lack of saberanon. Even if he would just fraud for a mid build, his presence in some capacity is needed. I don't know why it is this way, but I believe it to be so.
>>98178440I just assumed that taking the same candidates as someone else means you just have people with similar personalities and skills, but not literally the same person.
>>98178440I just assumed the candidates were templates, since it would make no sense otherwise. But accepting this officially would also open up the chance to get the same one multiple times.>>98178468There is also another very important difference. Contacts have a (un)life apart from you, one you have very little to no control over. Candidates are pretty much you slaves, especially if you turn them into a ghoul or childe. Point is, you monopolize them, but you can't monopolize the contacts even in singleplayer.
>>98178498>you can't monopolize the contacts even in singleplayer.Watch me blood bond a bitch.
>>98178471It's not like I left though...?
>>98178555I can still hear his voice...
>>98178555I meant presence in the mp.
>>98178512I mean, what you do after the cyoa starts is your prerogative in singleplayer, but that's not what the companion relationship means in this, you have to figure out a way to do it yourself, you don't start that way.In multiplayer it would be a dick move at the very least.
>>98178555But you didn't make a build for the last... 5 MPs I think? That's the kind of precence he was talking about. Also, completerly unrelated, there are a surprising amount of sword related things in the VtM cyoa. Just wanted to point that out.
What can be done at Fledgling level?
>>98177218I'll add a question too. What's the political situation like? Like the sect relations, who rules etc.
>>98178604The discipline section mentions 0-1 dots, look up powers like that. Any specific discipline you're interested in?
>>98178610Would Fledgling Vicissitude be able to hide permanent fangs? An interaction I thought of while looking for a faceclaim
>>98178579>Also, completerly unrelated, there are a surprising amount of sword related things in the VtM cyoa I Imagine this is why. Seems like swordplay or extreme hole punching force is necessary to kill kindred.
>>98178623Possibly. Malleable Visage is 1 dot and might do it but is cosmetic only and Bonecraft is 3 dots.Bypassing a drawback like that is a bit sus tho.
>>98178663Fair. It wouldn't be a permanent way around it, just in conversation with humans. Supplemented by a bit of Dominate. "You didn't see anything".
>>98178623I'm nearly 85% sure vampire fangs in this universe are retractable.
>>98178678Not with permanent fangs. It's a drawback.
>>98178623For a few minutes probably.
>>98178557Perhaps by striking me down, I'll become more powerful than ever... Maybe.>>98178561>>98178579Eh, fair point. I was a bit tempted by Naruto (thought about making a samurai princess turned ronin after a rebellion at home.) I also considered doing something with SC (time-slipping saber my beloved!), but I have been fairly inactive since JITE died off.Sadly the VtM cyoa is on the side of mps that don't really call to me.
>>98176206Do the spirits from Assamite sorcery comunicate? Do the ones from Elemental Mastery?I'm having an idea, it may be a dumb idea, so I need to know if this works.
>>98178652Well, a stake into the heart and decapitation are vampire weaknesses that not even we as PCs can get rid of. We can get rid of fire, and reduce sunlight, but losing blood is still a big deal I think.
>>98178795Shonen punch-chads are out of business...
>>98178795Ancient Fortitude says hi
>>98178803Honestly even neonate fortitude is more than enough for most common threats. And any supernatural ones were gonna be a concern regardless of your abilities.
>>98178795>Well, a stake into the heart and decapitation are vampire weaknesses that not even we as PCs can get rid of.Vissicitude and Serpentis chads stay winning.
If you wanted to unlock all the rare/obscure disciplines and magics you would need 17 contacts. You also need 17 hooks to unlock the disciplines of those contacts. So your hooks and contacts together must add to 34.>3 hooks from modern nights>2 hook reduction from picking a doomed bloodline>-1 from unnatural embrace>1 hook reduction from accursed wretch>4 hooks from cursed by dice>1 hook from one last ride>8 hooks from loss of self>3 hooks from deep slumber>1 hook from any other impairment>3 more hooks from not taking extra unnatural embrace options>1 hook from sire traits>2 hooks from other sire choices>7 contacts from fame>3 hooks from chroniclesYou can technically unlock all powers and still have 4 leftover hooks.
>>98178877>8 hooks from loss of selfThe ancient nugget of ultimate power is real... a real diablerie target, that is.
>>98178877>If you wanted to unlock all the rare/obscure disciplines and magics you would need 17 contacts. Why? You unlock ALL of the disciplines of a given contact when you spend the hook, we already wen over this. I'm sure there is enough overlap to not need that many.
>>98178877Yes, of course... And then anon lists your build as a contact and gets all unlocks for 1 hook. It makes perfect sense.
>>98178921If we start listing eachother as contacts like that we will run into a mobius hook problem very soon.
>>98178911>I'm sure there is enough overlap to not need that many. There's a ton of overlap with the common disciplines. >>98178882>>98178936It's not an ancient build tho. Maximizing hooks requires being a modern day vampire, so 12th 13th or thinblood.
>>98178931Uh, interesting. This table? will actually be useful as I finish my build.
Can I take another build as my sire?
>>98178963Maybe?If you want a specific discipline you can more easily find which contact gives it.1 auspex2 celerity3 dominate4 fortitude5 obfuscate6 potence7 presence8 animalism9 protean10 vicissitude11 obtenebration12 quietus13 dementation14 chimeristry15 serpentis16 daimonion17 temporis18 mytherceria19 obeah20 valeren21 thanatosis22 melpominee23 ogham24 bardo25 thaumaturgy26 koldunic sorcery27 necromancy28 assamite sorcery
>>98178989Sure, but mechanically you're probably going to have to choose one of the missing sire options to avoid complications.
>>98178989Sure, you can even pick a 4th gen and make that anon update their build with their new sire point pool.
>>98178989We were talking about it. The short answer is, sure why not?But it would probably require coordination and a bit of fnagling to make the traits fit.I was trying to make a sire build for others, but I need to coordinate too.
>>98178742Well, see you after this one when we finally play MHA 2
>>98179007I don't think that's necessary. It's not that difficult to delineate traits all things considered. The only difference would be disciplines.>>98179011I don't think that's how it works? We can't be 4th gens, and even then I don't think becoming a sire suddenly makes you stronger.
>>98178989>>98179018It seems like a fun idea but I feel like people are going to end up with something busted due to the inherent nature of pc privilege in the cyoa.
>>98179037If we make it so you can only inherit as many disciplines as you could if it were an NPC I don't think there would be any problems. So it would be the 3 from clan, 0-3 commons from gen, and 0-2 from traits.
>>98179011No. That's stupid.
>>98179049Yes, because there are no 4th gens.
>>98179051This is true. Gens 1 through 4 don't exist. 5th gen fangers are the strongest things in this world and can rule with impunity.
>>98179062I meant there are no 4th gen PCs. But it may as well be true since I don't think anyone will bring in 1-4 gens, other than the occasional 4th gen sire.
>>98179062Even the highest gen fangers job to everything else supernatural in the setting btw

another potential MP with no interactions, nothing happening, and pointless discussion
>>98179429Builds are just being made, pretty sure there's at least two in the works, at least from what's being said. Wouldn't call discussion pointless either, it's fun to know more about the world and how builds can fit in it.
>>98179570The SChuds said that too.
>>98179584Then builds got made and things got written? Not really sure what you mean by bringing up SC. Could've done Isekai instead desu.
>>98179590The Isekucks said that too.
>>98179601No they didn't. They were the most surprised when a build was made. Nobody expected it to last as long as it did.

It's like taking the 9 Humanity option Bardo contract option when you're a super Baali Diablerist, how much are you really expecting to get out of it if your ideals or goals are complete opposites.>>98179385I assume it does mean that it's effectively -1 Hook, as it doesn't make sense to call it a cost otherwise.
>>98179385Honestly, considering that Sylen is, well, Sylen, and that he clearly considers your sire being stronger a bad thing it could actually give a hook. It's also written like that all 3 times so it's unlikely that it's a typo. But since that's how it works for our character and it calls it a cost we may as well treat it as -1.
>>98179643>Not sure about Assamite sorcery but I know the ones from Elemental Mastery do. They can be kind of dicks or generally hard to work with so it's really up to you if you want to deal with whatever bullshit they feel like doing, if they even decide to do anything for you in the first place. That sounds fun honestly. My dumb idea was a kind of fake Malkavian. The guy muttering to himself, talking to no one, answering questions nobody asked and giving cryptic messages. But he's not actually crazy, he just has all the magic that lets you talk to spirits or similar stuff, and other perception based things like Auspex and Temporis. So he looks like a Malkavian to the average kindred, since his clan is technically dead. The spirits being dicks actually goes very well with it, with him arguing with them about shit nobody understands. The mistery would probably be a lot less impactful for those with the same magics, but that's part of the fun.
>>98179692Sounds cool. I think Elemental Mastery is one of the more interesting powers to mess with even without spirits, because the idea of talking to a rock to find out what happened in the area is funny, especially when it hinges on said rock caring enough to have paid attention originally.

Okay so obviously you don't want to drink the blood of a living vampire because even a little taste is going to fuck with your mind. But what exactly is stopping you from final deathing them and then drinking their blood? Can't become blood bonded with a dead guy.

>>98181923Wait no, I meant every 8th gen and aboveClarifying because enough anons were already confused by this
>>98181888Nice tripsSomewhere in the region of top 20 vampires on the entire planet.1st Generation is Caine alone.2nd are said to number 3, though there are likely about 3 more, but some are long dead. (Such as The Crone and Zillah3rd are those who founded the clans, officially 13, though again likely a handful more, and several are dead. This Sire, top of 4th, would only be second to the above, with anyone else being at best an equal, so only these ancient monsters would surpass them. They would have been sired by their clan's founder, be thousands of years old, and would be a walking apocalypse.
I don't see what's stopping some ancient vampire from going into a cave for a few days and embracing a hundred blood bonded randoms and using them to take over the world. There doesn't seem to be any downsides to spamming embrace and blood bond.
>>98182019Mass embrace is a tactic Sabat employs sometimes.
>>98182019Per system lore, fresh characters with a low generation have extremely high potential, but they have the same starting disciplines as any other newbie vampire. Trying that would just be the biggest diablerie bait ever made. The cyoa fucks this up by giving low gen fledglings god stats right from the start, but it was either that or having anons shit themselves when they aren't given cheat codes, so I can see why Sylen did what he did.
>>98182019The downside is that you're making 100 vampires. It's not the easy win you think it is. For one, Blood Bonds do naturally grow weaker over time if you don't reapply it, so you'll need to be constantly feeding your childe once a month at least if you want to be safe. Not only that, you are skyrocketing the amount of blood you need to sustain this little colony going on. What do you think happens when you have 100 vampires running around in one area, burning vitae on disciplines to achieve whatever goal you're looking for? You're going to need a lot of bloodbags for that, and do you really expect 100 fresh fledglings to be capable enough to not break the Masquerade while they're brand new to the perks and drawbacks of being a Kindred? A single slip up and whoops, you got a bunch of other factions on your add which might not even be other Vampires, because there's a long list of people who really don't like Cainites and are accustomed to taking them out.Even if you do manage to succeed in the short term, what happens in 100 years? 300? Are you going to allow your childe to embrace, because their childe aren't going to be blood bonded to you. You just created a possible rival to yourself who is only one step below you in power. Scratch that, you actually made 100 potential rivals. Are you really capable of overseeing and ensuring their loyalties to you? Can you really say that not one of them is going to get the idea that through your blood they can obtain greater power, especially when you are already giving it away willy-nilly. Hell they don't even need to diablerize you, what stops them from just getting the idea to take you out so you don't lord over their heads with your bonds by sending a ghoul to drag you out into the sun while you're under torpor, or just setting fire to your cave or whatever home you live in and let you burn to ash and free them all? You can say that you can surround yourself in those you trust, but vinculum exist...
>>98182065Lorewise, has a low gen vampire ever looked at a high gen vampire, thought 'this kid is alright' and actively created diablerie fodder to upgrade them (embrace a bloodbag, force the fledgling to embrace, repeat)? Or would the high gen vampire just go insane or something?
>>98181471Then just use AI images? As long as they fit I don't see the problem.
>>98182247They are ugly and soulless
>>98182164Did you miss the post that said vampires are all paranoid asocial freaks that don't even believe in their own shadow? (And who can blame them for that when Obtenebration is a thing?)Also the thirst of ages is a thing, so if a low gen likes you they are more likely to keep you as a blood bag than allow you to get stronger.I'm pretty sure some old fucks embrace new kindred specifically for that.
>>98182270They got better over the last few years. And we had several of them people didn't even notice as faceclaims.
>>98182164Not a super lorehead, so I can't tell you if there's some obscure example in the history books, but generally it's a no. The Cammies really dislike diablerie because it fucks with their established system, and while Sabbat are more open to it, they're also unhinged maniacs who have the same paranoid controlling tendencies, just hidden a little better. Also, >Or would the high gen vampire just go insane or something?is semi-true, because diablerie also drains humanity. The crazy "absorbing the soul" parts are less likely to happen, but anybody doing diablerie will steadily become more and more of a deranged monster. Basically, the absolute best case scenario of helping a high gen through chain diablerie is creating a cannibalism-addicted lunatic, while making yourself look like a tempting -1 generation buff yourself. Any vampire fucked up enough to think it up while also being nice enough to be willing to help a fella out is already one in a million, the circumstances for it to be useful are limited, and anybody who goes through with it probably won't be left in a state to every try again.
>>98182019Doesn't the mass death of these mass embraced have a potential to awaken the antideluvian of the clan?
>>98182270>>98182284A lot of the faceclaims anons pick are already ugly and soulless, AI or not.
>>98182386Then they are fitting for a bunch of vampires
>>98182386Being ugly isn't a crime. Being soulless is.
>>98182270Theres only so many vampire images out there. Ive been looking, and the vast majority is just based on the castlevania anime, vampire hunter D, d&d stock images, and homogay vampires. Which are all well and good, but dont fit well if you want to do like a viking vampire or a roman vampire or something. Also half the time they have glowing eyes which may or may not fit your build.
>>98182433Something something grind the world down, pass it through the finest sieve, and point to me one particle of soul. It means nothing other than to provide a way to be an asshole arbitrarily.
>>98182458I don't care about any of that honestly. I mostly just wanted to make the point that something being ugly doesn't make it inherently bad, especially in the case of faceclaims. Sometimes a character isn't attractive.
>>98182579I agree with you about the ugly part. I just dont like people getting upset about "soul". All it accomplishes is being a roadblock for anons who might otherwise want to play the game.
>>98182616It's easier to just say not to use AI art because it's generally disliked than bringing up soul.
>>98182712That'd be more honest at least, rather than trying to cloak an opinion underneath the guise of some moral high ground.
>>98182712Nta but "soul" or "sovl", as they often write it, is a common shitposting term here. When they don't like something they say it doesn't have soul. It's been used for everything, and never made any sense.

So, fellow Kindred, where are we playing? I don't know America well, so I don't really have any propositions on that front. Looking at the builds so far, I'm guessing it's a Camarilla City but with some Anarch territory? Timeline-wise, cyoa got that covered and we're in the 90s. What about the Prince? Someone wanted to make them as their Sire, right? What are they like? What could be the reason for so many elders Embracing new Childe in the recent times/the Prince granting them the rights to do that?
>>98183730There's a lot of options.>hidden castles, capes, and magic swordsEastern Europe>extensive underground network and dungeons to exploreFrance>ancient artifacts and hunters empowered by faithItaly>billionaires in ivory towers and a new generation of ambitious neonates ready to overthrow their eldersAmerica
>>98183730>>98183775You'll choose America because that's what you always choose unless it's Japan. Of course it's also irrelevant because I doubt even a single writefag will be made but dreaming is good for you.
>>98183775Australia it is.
>>98183775I think we can go Europe, it's also all closer than the rest so going from France to Italy and around those parts isn't that big of a deal. Everything already wants to kill you in Australia, how has humanity even survived if we put the supernatural into the mix?
>>98183818Seems like there is plenty of supernaturals but not many vampires https://whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/Australia_(WOD)
>>98183818I think another reason that's in favour of Europe is how low gen our cast is. Europe has quite a lot of low gens in general, doesn't it? A lot of home territories of clans are set there. I'm not sure about the freedom of movement due to political implications, though. Isn't that generally pretty restricted withy he requirement to introduce yourself to the Prince of whose domain you enter?
>>98179750>the idea of talking to a rock to find out what happened in the area is funny, especially when it hinges on said rock caring enough to have paid attention originally. That's exactly the kind of feel I wanted to go for. With Elemental Mastery, Green Path, Assamite Sorcery, and maybe Ash or Cenotaph I should be able to cover pretty much all kinds of spirits possible. It's a bit hard to budget but I should be able to do it, and maybe I don't need necromancy. There are a couple contacts that are perfect for this as they would actually give me everything I need for only 2 hooks.I just noticed, the contacs don't list what paths they have, only the broad magic. I don't think it will be impactful for us but it's something to think about.
>>98183371I mean, multiple runs can coexist at the same time. We don't have to wait for each other, just have at it.
>>98183730Europe would be interesting. We haven't done an MP there yet to my knowledge. It's also much smaller than America, so characters can go from England to Greece in a matter of days. I also want to spite this anon >>98183791 for he dared to speak the truth.>>98183914This is a fair point as well. The number of low gens in the USA would be lower, as torpor leaves them where they slept, which can be decades/centuries at the high end.
How many MPs have we had set in America? I can only think of two off the top of my head
>>98183914>requirement to introduce yourself to the Prince of whose domain you enter?I vaguely remember that's a thing. But I also have a feeling that the cast would end up being lower gen than some of those princes.Imagine it, the prince is ready to welcome the visitors and gets ready to put on his best 7th gen intimidation face to make sure they don't cause any problems, and then a bunch of 5th and 6th gens show up.
>>98183953That used to be normal, now anons need reminders.
>>98183448No one's attached to anything these days to be fair. We've got little enclaves of like three or four anons, working for three or four adventures, all praying they can convince or shitpost the other groups into bending the knee and join them.
>>98183966Every single MP set in the real/futuristic world has been Japan or America>MHAJapan>WormAmerica>JITEJapan>Urban WhateverAmericaOnly exception I can think of is Fate Oxford
We should do an MP set in Brazil so we can hunt down Cityanon and kill him.
>>98183978Nta. I just do my own thing, I don't shitpost or try to convince anyone. Doing that would be counterproductive anyway, there isn't much to gain from anons that were not interested before, they would just not have enough motivation to do anything meaningful.
>>98183998How will we keep our builds from getting stds and pickpocketed?
>>98183987>Urban WhateverNow I was reminded of the horror MP proposal. I guess the vampire one gets close.
>>98183968Well, the cast are generally young or just woken up from a long torpor so for the low gens they'll be relatively weak due to being young (as opposed to the higher gens who'll be strong among their generations because of the high blood disciplines). One of the smaller cities, sure, the princes might be higher gen, but in the capitals or if regents get interested in them? London is gen 4 with acting 6th, Paris is gen 5, Berlin is gen 5, Rome 5 too but I'm not sure, Sicily 6, Vienna kinda 5 (nor a princedom, they are ruled by a council, Tremere's main chantry is there). There are also other metusaleh around. That's also until we replace the princ EOF some city with one of the Anon's Sire, who'll likely be pretty low gen too.
>>98183730I also vote for Europe as I think it's a interesting setting for our vamps. Lot of the Chronicles mention traveling over to Europe and even options like the castle dark gift are said to be over there, so I think it's pretty fitting. Not sure about the specifics for the city or even country within but I think pretty much any major city should work. Just as long as we aren't near the UK so we don't have to deal with the Clocktower... oh wait wrong franchise.
https://whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/Europe_(WOD)Alright then, let's go with Europe.>Europe as a whole is a bastion of the Camarilla and its elders, although the Sabbat has established himself in small regions of various nations, like Scandinavia, Spain (the traditional home of the Lasombra) and lands around the Carpathian mountains (the traditional home of the Tzimisce). >>98183978That's a different thing though. I think the anons who like SC and want to continue and are planning writefags still are less attached than they probably would be to something else. It overall feels fairly low enthusiasm. This isn't meant to be a criticism, it's just my read.

>>98184122Europe is tiny and has extensive transport networks. We could potentially cover all of Europe, depending on if anyone writefags.
>>98184211This post gives me very strong "country of Europe" vibes.
>>98184122Well from a quick glance over, Central seems pretty boring outside Hungary and Poland. They have some very interesting high ranking vamps but are pretty lackluster otherwise. Eastern is something I'd rather avoid because apparently there's a fucked up vampire Witch in Russia who has essentially a near complete and total stranglehold within the region. Northern is extremely tiny and all those countries in there are super isolated. Western seems to be one of the most fleshed out regions, which makes sense, with well established factions and without seemingly iron fist rules in place.Personally my vote is for Southern as Greece and Spain are both in a state of political unease/factional power struggles that lets prospective Kindred like ourselves take advantage of it, and Greece has a high number of older vamps while Spain has a mixing pot of multiple factions. I also just like the idea of being in a tourist hotspot because it adds the type of crowds that vampires love to slip through and feast on the fringes.
>>98184154Ngl I just switched it in my mind to be 0, 1-5, 6-10, 11-19 and 20+. Although if someone else approaches it differently it doesn't feel like it's that bad since 1 point of anything isn't that hard to get.
>>98184242Greece is such a homosexual country though
>>98184236Again, the issue with travelling is more due to politics. It can happen, but territorial issues are a big part of the setting. >>98184242Greece sounds okay. It has a good mix of clans and factions. Would we go Athens or something smaller?
>>98184273It's Vampire the Masquerade, it should be a bit gay.
>>98184287Ironically vampire was the least gay of the popular TTRPGs.D&D/MTG groups were nothing but dudes.Vampire groups have girls who have sex with the guys.
>>98184283I think Athens sounds good since it's going to be the most active city both for mortals and vamps. I like the idea of being big as possible since people can then subdivide on regions within the city if they want.
>>98184242>>98184283>>98184339Funny how we ended up there. I'm also in favor of Greece, and Athens specifically.Because it's interesting, and also because it would make my backstory a lot easier to write.
>>98176206Do the sorcery levels make old abilities better or do they just unlock new ones?
>>98184506Just unlocks new ones as far as I'm aware. I don't think the potency of sorceries can be influenced all that much since it's using rituals or conditions instead of being something more innate to vitae manipulation like Disciplines are, but this is just assuming from what the cyoa says.

There's something so intriguing about going down the rabbithole of old RP forums. Trying to search up VTM related topics eventually led me to a now defunct roleplay site, but luckily Wayback machine was able to let me see some old posts. Man, it really is heartwarming in a way to know people have been doing this for years upon years in the most niche corners of the internet, and even now it continues in little pockets of communities across the globe...So basically we have to totally stomp those ones out by proving we're the best at maladaptive daydreaming. Take that, losers!

>>98184890It wasn't a complaint, it was a statement of fact. I tend to like anime art more, but as you say it's mostly because there is a lot more of it in a similar style.

>>98185785You know what, a prompt>>98176206Kindred, what are your humanity ranks? Or perhaps you're on one of the Paths of Enlightenment instead? Which one and what's your rank on it?
>>98185802https://whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/Path_of_EnlightenmentFor the uneducatedProtip: Chaos and Self Focus are both great.but all of these mean you have forsaken your humanity (jojo) vampires are not human, so the Path of Humanity is useless (and downright dangerous) to them anyway. Paths are largely the province of the Sabbat, as Camarilla vampires adopt Humanity at least partly to enforce the Masquerade, but the ancient of this sect aren't that often followers of Humanity. In the Dark Ages setting, the Paths and the Humanity trait were replaced with the very similar concept of Roads, without having a parting of any kind between sects: even with the Masquerade kept, the Roads can exist. And since were all fucking oldhttps://whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/Road
>>98185836>And since were all fucking oldWe aren't. The default is that our Sires are old, be we were only recently embraced unless you take one of the unnatural embraces like torpor.
>>98185842I keep forgetting that honestly. The idea of a young person being this low of a gen is wild.
>>98185802https://whitewolf.fandom.com/wiki/Path_of_PleasureYeah how do you do fellow young people.
>>98185802>>98185836As a Baali Salvatore would have been on the Path of Evil Revelations as would be his Sire, probably around rank 6 looking at the hierarchy of Sins, but as I will be changing it to the Tzimisce (sorry for being slow with the update) I think simple Humanity fits best with what I had in mind, around rank 4. I was also tempted by Path of the Vizier, but the idea of the superior would have to be mostly limited to his Sire, and he'd be pretty low on it as it'd be something his Sire indoctrinated into it rather than something he embraced fully by himself, but it was pretty close. Unrevised road of the Hive also had some fitting elements.
>>98185112>why isn't everyone a devout Christian? Isn't everyone afraid of hell? The real winning move is becoming a mage and ascending
>>98185845I mean, if a 4th gen wants to embrace someone, it seems like very few vampires would be in a position to tell them no.
>>98185836Honestly surprised those roads arent part of the cyoa
>>98186448They are generally rare. By default you start with Humanity and need to lower it a lot before you enter a path. It can be done before the Embrace, so it's not out of question even if we're fledglings but it feels like it shouldn't be too common, maybe as unnatural embrace or something. But humanity effects were generally changed considering some effects of it was built into banes, unnatural embraces and impairments of blood.
>>98185316Oh cool there's this righteous paragon of moral virtue who's been afflicted with vampirism. I wonder what his powers are.>Shadow Magic, Blood Sorcery, NecromancyOh.
>>98186448I got this from the wiki"In game terms, a vampire may not attempt to switch to a Path unless he's at Humanity 3 or lower."So you kinda need to be an apathetic murderous bastard to even adopt it.
>>98187291>But humanity effects were generally changed considering some effects of it was built into banes, unnatural embraces and impairments of blood.Wait, Humanity does something? I was sure it was just an indication of how fucked up your mind is getting.>>98187744Saves me the time to read them I guess. It looked like a neat backstory fuel and personality quirk but my guy isn't supposed to be that bad.
>>98187820not him but my understanding is that vampiric powers are like the force in star warsit's inherently evil and corrupting to use it, so unless you practice extreme discipline you're going to end up as a cartoon villain
>>98187820Well for starters, there's a mechanic called Blush of Life. It uses vitae to add some color to your skin, similar to Blush of Health, but unlike the Unnatural Embrace it's temporary. However, the higher Humanity you are, the more effective it can be. It can allow you to eat food even though it still can't provide any benefits, and you'll have to vomit it out about an hour later. At higher levels you can keep it down longer, but at certain levels you can start truly consuming things like tasting and digesting wine, or eating raw meats, and you also start being able to wake up earlier/sleep later to be more active in the day. At 10 you don't even need the Blush to do any of that and even your weakness to the sun is effectively halved. The higher Humanity you are, the more you grasp onto your old mortal life and the closer you can resemble it without faking. On the flip side if you have lower humanity it gets harder to use the Blush of Life because you stop giving a shit. Why bother pretending to blink or breathe, just start shoving vitae in your system to put on a little makeup and you're good. Keep sliding down and eventually you start thinking why even bother putting on a show for the mortals who only serve as bloodbags. Your appearance gets sicklier as you become more corpse-like as your monstrous personality bleeds through. No reason to try and charm people when you can Dominate their minds instead. It's hard to hold onto high humanity because of the natural consequences of what being a vampire forces you to do, and it can also be real easy to sink into low humanity because you start justifying your actions without remorse. Already you might be looking at humans as kine, cattle who only serve to feed you, so draining a person to death isn't that big of a deal. You might only worry about your interactions with other vampires as they're the only ones who are on your level. It gets bad when you start seeing your fellow vamps as below you, or even food.
A vampire fighting a werewolf is like a human fighting a grizzly bear. One of them is civilized and polite. The other is a monster made for killing.
>>98187993Do the werewolves have generations too? Or something comparable.

>>98176206>vampire campaign>everyone takes immunity to sunlight
>>98188405Not immunity, just a high resilience. Even still definitely one of the best Unnatural Embraces, even costing 3 blood it’s still the cheapest way to reduce a fatal flaw down to simply a significant issue instead. May not burn but you’ll still want to keep out of it for the most part.It is hard to resist the appeal of walking amongst mortals though, as if there’s one thing vamps want to be, it’s to perfect their disguise so they can be the wolf in sheep’s clothing. We’ll be able to walk the beaches in large sunhats and copious amounts of sunscreen, sunglasses also preferred. Or maybe a really big umbrella while we’re at it.
>>98188405Nobody can take immunity to sunlight, you need Path to Gloconda for that and we banned it. In the original version you could do that, but not anymore.
>>98188405There's honestly not that many unnatural embraces of value, so you do kind of end up picking a lot of similar ones.

>>98188532Uh. The stipulation is also on Talentless Morsel. But that mans that you can use both of those to end up with only 1 bane and 1 tier 1 curse, or 2 tier 1 curses.
>>98188532>>98188574By the way, that's not intended. It's something Sylen let slip and already said it should't work. But by RAW it does, and death of the author is a thing.
>>98188570Well, in this case Gergarious or Infamous at level 2 are not horrible, and you do get the choice. And Chain of Comand can have interesting narrative implications. I didn't check the rest tho, so it may make no sense as a whole.
>>98188592I'm in favor of that. Honestly, I don't think reducing the archetypal vampire weakness to photo-sensitivity is fitting at all. In the lore it takes immense fortitude and/or being a methuselah or lower to survive, here it's a no-brainer.
>>98188541>>98188609A Giovanni member of the Sabbath, with a sire Unappealing, too Tall/Short, Envious, who is either beloved or hated by the whole comunity. Also part of the inner circle, directly under the Prince, and who got you by mistake and/or spite. That's kinda fucked up.
Why do you want a sire? You get more blood points if you cut them loose.
>>98188615Not the rest, just the Thinnest of Blood+Repentance combo. Everything else is intended and fair game. Hand of Forgiveness stays regardless.
>>98188665Free Disciplines unlocks with no strings attached (that were not already there), potentially more Fame and Favor, which means more free Dark Gifts/Contacts, and general security that comes from having a lower gen vampire protecting you.
>>98188615>I'm in favor of thatAnon, just to be clear, in this situation you are saying that you want every thinblood to be able to just get rid of the sun curse.Death of the author here would make it easier to get rid of the sun curse, not harder. It only affects WoG, not the actual written rules of the cyoa.
>>98188731I meant I'm in agreement with Sylen saying it was an oversight and not something that should work. The Sun should be an obstacle that can only be mitigated and not removed.
>>98188731NTA but they're already pathetic thinbloods, dodging the sun doesn't seem like such a big deal.
>>98188731is it even worth it? tier 1 sun is barely an inconvenience seems like using it to lessen the fire curse is a far better use of repentance of the beast
>>98188770You also have the Talentless Morsel one to reduce a curse by one. I don't think it's worth it in general, let alone for thinbloods who could be using those slots on other things instead. Fire is better sawpped I think, or both reduced then swapped, since it's a pain even at level 1. You either go all in on getting rid of it or you don't touch it, half measures aren't really worth it with fire.

Okay so it looks like Vicissitude isn't just free permanent body changes.Whatever your form was when you were turned is the natural state your body wants to regenerate back to.So having a natural strength or appearance is still valuable because it gives you a stronger base to build from.
>>98189440Hate to tell you this, but Vicissitude is one of the few effects that overwrites ths reversion. It's permanent unless you're a lower Gen than the one using it on you, then you can choose to heal it.
