Thirty (30) starting life is objectively superior to fourty (40)
>TQIn 60 card formats, I play more decks built around combinations of the esper colors, but in EDH I'm having a lot more fun playing gruul shit
>>98197842>TQ: Do you have any colors of color combos that you tend to prefer?I only play RW.I have one deck that I've had for decades now. A friend built it for me from mostly Kamigawa and Ravnica cards, and I've played that deck literally thousands of times now.Any time a new set comes out, the only thing I'm really looking at is cards that can go in that deck. Power creep being what it is, almost all of the original cards have been replaced by strictly better ones, and when I converted it from a 60 card deck to a 100 card EDH deck, that also meant dropping any multiple copies. In the end, it's got very few of its original cards left.>Battlefield Forge>Sunhome, Fortress of the Legion>Boros Garrison>Sacred Foundry>Eight-and-a-Half-Tails>Lightning Helix>Sunforger>Skyknight Legionaire>Razia, Boros ArchangelAnd, every time I look to add new cards to the deck, it gets more and more tempting to cut one of these. There's are some cards that weren't part of the original deck that grew to become tied directly to its core. Balefire Liege is probably the most important of these, and there was a good chunk of time back when it was a 60 card deck where the central strategy was to get a Balefire Liege on the field and proceed to win via its passive burn. There was also a time where Angels/Dragons were a big theme for it, a short stint with anthems/weenies, and now unfortunately it's just stuffed full with EDH staples with a very heavy equipment theme, largely thanks to the Final Fantasy set. In a few years, who knows what it'll look like.
>>98197842>TQ: Do you have any colors of color combos that you tend to prefer? If you go simply by the number out of the 37 decks I've built, it's Orzhov with 4, then Boros and Golgari each with 3.
this is the third time the furry didn't bother putting the current thread link to the previous thread
>TQI are the niggest.Black is just too cool.
>>98198034Has it ever had a mass damage + mark of asylum type of phase or are you more of a beatdown guy?
Would the game benefit from more eminence?
>LGS player says he wants to play his mean Mono-Black deck>I pull out this in response>1 game later he is mad at me
card draw NEEDS to be in the command zone
>>98198162I give horobi a +1/+1 counter now what
>>98198178In response I tap a variety of artifacts and creatures, give most of your board counters and changing many of your permanents to the color black. It resolves and everything dies. I recast Horobi next turn with Black Market mana and if you target me again I am doing it, again
>>98198161Yes, we need card draw eminence.
>>98198154It's spent most of its life as just a good stuff deck, could be called vaguely midrange, and just depends on the individual cards having a lot of inherent synergy to pull together weird wins. It's a pretty casual deck. It would die in any tournament it was entered in, but it's strong enough to be a contender among the decks my friends throw down.
>>98198173Might build this stupid piece of shit because it seems incredibly easy to pilot.
>>98198161Eminence would benefit from more kindred spells.
>>98197842>TQ: Do you have any colors of color combos that you tend to prefer?I love blue because I love decking myself out. I'll do it even if I don't have labman out.
Mail drop bros
>>98197842>TQI love all the mono and 2-color combinations found within Sultai despite Sultai itself being my least favorite 3 color combo.I've got a few decks that include white in the works but I find myself not being drawn to much to red outside of unga bunga Gruul which feels a bit too close to mono-green for me to actually want to build.
I am skeptical of these numbers because of the sheer quantity difference but according to this search, so far with the marvel spoilers up to yesterday, there have been 395 more UB commanders printed this year than in universe commanders
>>98198161All commanders should have eminence by default.
>>98198213Do you draw a card for each wolf you control when you play that or when it attacks? It's written weird.
>>98198259I don't frequent these threads anywhere near enough to understand what the UB autism is about or what that image even means.
>>98198298This is unironically good design though.>can partner with partner commanders but miss out on the main benefit of partner commanders (customizable color identity)>partner commanders naturally have weaker abilities because you're supposed to be able to synergize between two different sets of abilities, having just one is less effective than running a regular commander>or you can run this in the 99 of any commander deck as an effective second commander if you don't want to cast yours from the command zone for whatever reason, and has high enough toughness to dodge a lot of damage-based or -x/-x removal
>>98198298>>98198307>tries to make hyperbolic example of why eminence is bad>shows off the creative design space of eminence complete with both upside and downsidelmao
Post decksThis is my latest work. I call it Weapons of Mass Destruction. Excited to test it out against my bros this Sunday.
>>98198298Aside from maybe Kodama (stuck in monogreen lol) and maybr, MAYBE Kamahl (stuck in monogreen lol), there is nothing unbalanced about this.
>>98198329>KamahlArahbo is better anyways because of its battlefield ability + access to white.
>wanted to make a funny quirky little artifact deck based around vehichles and piloting them, kinda like mechs in my funny animes>upon first playtest it works so well that I become arch enemy within 5 turns and spiral out of control genuinely the first time I ramped that hard without green cards in a deck, it kind of felt like pouring a glass of water on a plant and watching it bloom into a huge oak tree in an instant. I might make some slight changes like cutting some of the strongest synergy pieces for fun blue/white spells (no, not the control kind)
>>98197842>Do you have any colors of color combos that you tend to prefer?>WBG>WUG>WR>BG>WUBThose are my favorite color combos by far.
>>98198298>>98198307>>98198329bait or retarded?this is dumb as fuck
>>98197842>TQ: Do you have any colors of color combos that you tend to prefer? In 60 card mono red, in EDH anything with red in it but monored is best. Jund is my favorite shard.
partner with common (any other card can be your commander but it must be common)
Disgusting furfag thread
>>98198347AI hands typed this post
>>98198034You're deck seems pretty similar to mine, but I have kept it mostly the same and it has a little bit of everything you mentioned, but mostly equipment.>>98198314
>>98198314I'm working on like 4 decks right now so hopefully I'll have pictures of them soon.
>>98198347put your trip back on sword
>>98198387He's the martyr we need right now
>>98198354There's a good amount of cards that they've shared and still share. The differences are interesting. You went for a lot of ramp to try and actually cast your commander.I went for much more tutors and instants because my super secret win-condition is, after everything else has failed and somehow the game hasn't ended, tutoring up the Sunforger and using it to further tutor up some silver-bullets.
Which human or angel cards have the biggest chest? I'm making a big boob tribal deck
>>98198411Probably the Akromas
>when target creature dies, return it to the battlefield tapped and attacking (if it is not your combat phase, there is now a combat phase)
>>98198305Whats hard to understand?of 505 cards that can be your commander that were new in 2026, 455 were UB
>>98198493me on the left
>>98198493Okay, and?
https://moxfield.com/decks/x_W0y-s8PUCKMaOBOfMDYgbut how do I win?
>>98198515 Approach of the Second Sun
>>98198161Eminence is the 2nd worst mechanic MTG has ever seen
>>98198161Fuck no. If they were going to do an effect like this they should have made it a card that could be interacted with, like Backgrounds. Maybe limit it too mono color only as well.
>ENTERs your B2
I'm building Rukarumel as insect tribal- as Slivers behave very much like ants and many other insects like wasps, as hivemind-y "one of us is meager, upset the colony and die". I'm trying to run as many flavorful shitty insects as possible, but I'm not certain how far I should take it. I'm trying to include a lot of flavor cards like "bee sting" but simply because of the slivers backbone, I don't think I can make this deck a bracket one funtime deck, so maybe I should pull back and make it just insect-y creatures or insects in the art for creatures and give myself full freedom to make the rest of the deck more optimal to bring it to bracket 3? Also, please share your favorite bug card or cards featuring bugs, thanks
yeah i play counterfeit dualsyeah i pass them off as real for street credso what?
mail day, whats good
>>98198307My one and only counterpoint is that Partner commanders tend to be generic, open-ended value (Thrasios, Kraum) and this is the exact type of ability you don't want being passively available even if it creates an interesting choice in deckbuilding.
>>98198183>Black MarketDr. Pavel, I'm CIA.
>>98198602you seem like a cool dude
>>98198661love mailday
>>981987383/3
>Either draw 20 lands or 0
>>98198738I like it quite a bit those are all things I've been eyeing, how much was that version of Cavern of Souls? I think it's the most affordable one if I recall. And the Valakut double faced card as a land seems a nice possibly to have an extra wheel. and then Jeskai for some other utility. very cool
Are any of you soft-cocks going to command fest in Tacoma 4th of July weekend?
>>98198850no, but im eyeing the one in atlanta
>>98198850I would love to, It's within 1 days travel distance but its just not in the cards.
