>"Everyone gang up on anon, he always wins.">"Anon, play with Ben. He's the worst so it's fair.">"Please use the deck I counter anon, it's the only way I can beat you.">"Hey everyone! I beat anon! I finally beat him!">"Anon, don't use that card, it's broken.">"Anon, you have to be cheating.">"Of course you get every card you need and I get screwed!">"This deck can never win! Switch with me anon, that's only fair.">"Can I shuffle my lands and creatures alternating? I can't ever get a good hand otherwise."Why are my friends like this?
>>98198949You play magic.
>>98198949Sounds like you either build decks better than your pod or are just better at the game than them, either start gimping your deck building or don't mulligan unless the hand is actually unplayable.
>>98198960Mo' like Fagic the Gaythering
You spent the most money
>>98198949If everyone hates playing with you, you're probably unpleasant to play with.
>>98198949>playing card gamesYou deserve it
>>98198949Congrats on spending your spare cash buying four copies of broken singles recommended by online decklists, others make different financial decisions and still try to have fun while occasionally enjoying the fresh smell of an booster or two. Don't confuse being rich with being skilled when you evaluate the performances of your respective stashes of cardboard crack.
>>98198949I stabbed someone in the back so damn hard in a Mordheim campaign 15 years ago the stabbed player was basically out of the final games of the campaign. They still warn people not to trust me in unrelated games. My co-conspirator was never treated this way.In their defence, it was a magnifficent backstab and I was also playing Skaven.
>>98198949We also had a guy that had all these awful, expensive magic decks while everyone else just had random cards they bought once in a while. He was unbeatable, so we also acted like your friends. It's not fun if one player forces everyone to spend a lot of money just to compete.
Sounds like you're playing with casuals and are unable to regulate your power level which seems to frustate them.If winning by all means is why you play then you should consider a more competive play group. If you want to keep playing with them, build weaker decks and challenge yourself that way.
>>98199013Please dont associate us with magic players
>>98199003>>98199399>>98199476We all bought precons of equal strength and trade them around though...>>98199432>>98199547Oh, they don't hate me. I'm the final boss, they beg me to play. It's just not so fun for me anymore to have this target on my back.
>>98198949No one says this about you. You've never won a game in your life. You don't have anyone to play with.
>>98199432where did you read, that they don't want to play with him?
>>98198949You weak faggots never played team sports growing up so you have a twisted sense of the spirit of competition, not to mention complete lack of camaraderie and respect. This is true of every single card game player. On one hand you make me sick, on other I feel so sorry for you for that your parents didn’t actually raise you.
>>98200666lol
>>98198960First post is indeed the best post
>>98200666So you didn't try to win when you competed with the other team? You threw the game for no reason? He's not the guy in this thread that doesn't understand competition, lol.
>>98198949Everyone knows why people act like this and why it basically only affects TCGs and other games where there's a buy-in cost involved and physicality has no role in outcomes.People don't like losing. People REALLY don't like losing when it's entirely their own fault. In Physical Competitions like Sports if you lose then the other person was simply better than you, train harder next time. If you lose in something purely intellectual, like Chess, then the other person was smarter than you, train more.Because TCGs have cards that are intentionally designed to be better than others and those cards almost always cost more than the average to obtain less skilled players can justify their losses behind not being able, or willing, to invest the money to obtain those cards. These people will shield their use of suboptimal "strategies" and poor play behind moralization of their financial commitment. "This is just a GAME, Anon! Why do you use those expensive cards?! We're just trying to have FUN!" Well then, faggot, why is you not winning so important to you? Why is it only fun for you why I lose and you win?People need to just admit the truth. They want to win just as badly in card games as anyone else would in any other sort of competition. But card games give them an out to say "It's not MY fault, it's THEIRS!"
>>98198949Some people are just slow/casual at games. It can happen.
>>98200591>you dont have grapes and if you do they're super fucking sour
>>98200666>satan tries to tell you to treat 1v1 games like team gamesJust another fuckin saturday on the dead internet.
>>98198949I never understood bragging about winning or whining about losing in MtG when the luck factor is high enough you might as well flip a god damn coin.
>>98201051>If you lose in something purely intellectual, like Chess, then the other person was smarter than youThis is so fucking far from the truth it borders on cognitohazardous misinformation
>>98201399Chess is just pure autism.
>>98201051>it basically only affects TCGs and other games where there's a buy-in cost involved and physicality has no role in outcomes. This is complete bullshit because it happens in literally every video game with PvP. (You) are just too young to even know playing multiplayer games without using matchmaking is an option, and thus can only know of stuff like "no Oddjob" or making "that friend" play as Kirby or Dan Hibiki through ancient memes.
>>98201383Yeah. I know who you are, and I know you have no friends.
>>98198949>>98198960got it in one
>>98198960Didn't get it.
>>98202110>he thinks his discord kittens are his "friends"Ooft irl
>>98198949Because you play tcgs and these are the kind of people who play those.
>>98202656Ironic, lol
>>98199013Is this the thread?
>>98199476A LOT of projection and jealousy in this post baka
>>98199476Smart poor people just buy singles and literally never buy bulk though. Do not conflate the two ever, you produced an oxymoron.
>>98200569>Oh, they don't hate me. I'm the final boss, they beg me to playHave you tried talking to them about it? You know, like adults?Alternatively, if they want a table villain, become the villain. Control & stax the fuck out of them, don't even bring a wincon, who needs to win when your objective is to make your opponents suffer with instant speed protection and game lengtheners. Pull no punches, get CounterTop, get Ensnaring Bridge + instant speed discard options, become ungovernable, deck yourself out with Rhystic Study. Also, Commander sucks as both a game and a format of Magic, there are way better Magic formats to play and way better 3+ player boardgames to play out there. Bring a better game to game night, and if you fail to bring your friends into the light, find a better playgroup.
