Thought /tg/ would dig this. the original is in Middle English and can be a grind to read.

And so it was later
As the miller told his tale
That her face at first just ghostly
Turned a whiter shade of pale

If we're doing a "historical documents of /tg/ value" thread, I really want to mention Ogier Ghiselin de Busbecq's Turkish Letters. Absolute worldbuilding gold mine, Busbecq describes so many weird traditions and practices from the Balkans and Asia Minor that you can just lift wholesale for any fantasy setting and it'll be ten times more interesting than whatever generic fantasy soup you can cook up on your own.

For example, these pages where he talks about what he has heard of the Georgians could make an excellent basis for a halfling culture, since they're all lazy, promiscuous and bon vivant thieves.

No mention of the Canterbury Tales is allowed to go past without this video
I'm yet to read the whole damn thing but I have remembered the first few lines by heart for 17 years because of it

Much Halfling. Very wow.

That's as much as we get on the Georgians.

Of huge stature for a halfling mind you (1m66). Besides if you want more barbarian-coded stuff, there are endless anecdotes on the Turks and Hungarians that fit better.

There's also this very horny live action version from 1972.

Sad that they never seem to give credit for the soundtrack, it sounds a lot like Pyewackett to me.

A horny movie, made in a horny decade, about a set of horny medieval stories, old enough to be considered literature instead of porn.

The director made two more in his trilogy of horny historical anthology films, one based on the Decameron, and one on the Arabian Nights.

Another timeless classic would be The Decameron, if you can't be bothered reading a book there's 1971 movie version, it's surprisingly horny.

>surprisingly horny
In general, or even for the Decameron?

For me it's the 60s Yugoslav version or nothing
