My college gaming group would order from a pizzeria that would sell you cheap boxes of breadsticks and pints of frozen custard. We would dip the breadsticks into the frozen custard.

I miss being able to eat shit like that without getting fat and waking up with acid reflux.

Food related query for the fa/tg/uys and ca/tg/irls:

My DM has two rules with food that are pissing me off. The first is that he doesn't allow DoorDash orders because he says all the drivers are N-slurs and "white trash meth heads" and he doesn't want his home on the radar of those kind of people. The second is that we have to wait for game breaks to eat because he doesn't want grease on character sheets and miniatures. He says we should be able to go two hours without eating anything.

I said that I don't like being told what to do like I'm a kid during my weekend fun time. I get enough of that at work. And I need to keep up my blood sugars and don't want to ruin everyone else's experience by being hangry.

So am I the asshole here?

This. Ordering delivery is cancer whether you're having a game night or watching movies. Shit always arrives at a bad time that forces you to break, and often it isn't good anymore as well.
>>
>>98200549

>often it isn't good anymore as well

There was a good reason that delivery used to be only pizza, subs, and Chinese food. They'd still taste good after sitting in a box for 20+ minutes. McDonalds has to be eaten piping hot to be good and there's one every 6 blocks so it just seems weird to pay some retard a premium fee to bring it to you.

I propose that Americanized Chinese food is the best game day meal. It's greasy, tasty and cheap but it won't put you into a food coma like a pizza would.
>>
Wow, I'm glad I don't recruit here. lol

I usually set up a cormer for snacks and drinks nearby. You get up, eat and drink, and get back to the game. No a single crumb, drop or smear is going to tarnish the game table.

Good taste, anon. I've never done it with prosciutto but I've been doing basically the same snack wrapped in bacon instead for years.
It's like *candy*. Takes forever to prepare shit before it goes into the oven, but there are never any left over it always gets eaten.

>>98199267
Homemade chocolate truffles are easy enough. The simple versions are just rolled balls of flavored ganache, but I've had success with layered truffles as well. Pic related are the only ones I have any photos of: white chocolate flavored with orange extract and coated in a dark chocolate shell (tastes like a terry's chocolate orange) and penature better chip ganache in a chocolate shell (tastes like a good quality peanut butter cup).
The trick is to make the filling as a rolled ball with a toothpick stuck in it, freeze it, and then roll it through melted dark chocolate that quickly hardens on the outside due to the cold and remove the toothpick after.

>>98201763
> penature better

>He says we should be able to go two hours without eating anything.
He's right. Most people can go much more than two hours. Most people can go thirteen hours from dinner around 6 pm to breakfast around 7 am with not even a hot chocolate and a bickie before bed. I know a number of people who will not eat after noon and will drink only water or unsweetened tea. They breakfast at around 6 am, that's 18 hours of fasting. I routinely do 16 hours as I have acquired the bad habit of skipping breakfast time and not eating till lunch.

>need to keep up my blood sugars
Unless you are severely diabetic, why do you need to eat more than once every two hours? Management of stable blood sugar is best achieved in normal individuals by complex carbohydrates, lean protein and appropriate exercise. The order in which you eat protein rich versus carb rich food matters.

Even for diabetics a meal or snack every four to five hours is normal to regulate blood sugar. Earnestly, not as some judgment that you're a bad person and I don't expect you to answer on this forum, what's wrong with you that you're claiming "hangry", which is not a medical diagnosis, because you can't wait two hours?

Also what's wrong with you that 15 jellybeans, a small handful of dried fruit, two plain biscuits or half a glass of fruit juice doesn't bring your blood sugar back to normal? That is usually enough. Store bought dried fruit is often oil coated to stop it sticking so that's a problem for books and games but jelly beans won't leave a residue unless you have wet hands, plain biscuits leave only a few crumbs and juice from a bottle shouldn't leave any trace at all on anything but the inside of the bottle. If the DM objects to low mess food like that he's being unreasonable in my books but do ask yourself if it's worth getting diagnosed or even just using your brain and choosing to eat sensible foods because something seems very wrong if you can't go two hours.

I dont usually eat during my games.
Eating something slows by adrenaline and makes me a worse roleplayer.

My games are usually 7ish am since all my players live in another timezone.

If I have to have something it is usually a Monster energy, or a nice double Espresso with some biscoff biscuits.

Those small carrots are actually pretty good.
Another certified snack is sliced (lengthwise) regular carrots and cucumbers with hummus. Try it.
I also recommend pickles (fermented ones). They're just crack. However since they're stored in liquid they're kinda messy and probably not a good table snack

I treat my players to dinner before session. Depending on how hectic my work schedule is, it’ll either be home-cooked or we’ll order in from a nice restaurant. Keep the coffee machine brewing through session, have some dried fruit on hand, and run a full eight hours. Have breakfast together in the morning, then part ways.

I can game without a snack. But if guests or being a guest is involved I am required to have food prepared.
