First for Silver City is going to be an incredible addition to an already unforgettable game. I pray that Poots finds a way to release some of these terrain additions, because they're gorgeous.
>>98209697A) I never noticed the 15th anniversary zach in this image B) WTF were the ghosts always big baras? I just noticed the huge man tits on them.C) God after finishing a full campaign run with screaming God, I'm desperate for CoD and Silver City to uplift Lion God's rewards and gameplay to a similar level of fun and playabiloty instead of just "white lion upgrades that are still terrible" and "exciting dash to never be in line of sight because he literally will never stop attacking otherwise"

Where can I find scananon scans
What a pain in the ass. This project is going to take forever and im not sure i want to air brush the glow effects I had planned.
Just wrapped up year 1 of the arcs survivors PotL campaign, lost 2 survivors during prologue but got fear and hunger to rank 2 and we got the cat's eye and enough hide to be one away from a full rawhide set. Hopefully this level 1 white lion gives me a lion's claw, great cat bone, a love juice, and another hide so I can make a spear, circlet, pop that intimacy, and finish the rawhide.
Year 1 white lion is dead, we started off real strong with a dead monster into a knock down crit, but then towards the middle we had 3 consecutive rounds of everyone failing to wound, including a thrown founding stone into a trap, that brought things down to the wire, but Ms. Ginger managed to close things out just as everyone was getting heavy injuries. Back home, I did get that love juice I wanted, but no dice on the lion claws. We did get a hell of a lot of hide though, so I was able to wrap up 2 sets of rawhide, innovate paint, and build a cats eye circlet, which should set me up very nicely for an early level 2 hunt.
Wave one EoD restock just dropped. Everything aside from Manhunter I think? Gorm probably gonna sell out within the day though.
>>98218562weird, I'm not seeing anything yet, I'd grab Gorm
>>98218602oh shidd, found it through search, there's only 2 in stock, guess they found some boxes at the back of the warehouseidk if i should just get it now or wait for a proper reprint
>>98218602Is the Gorm worth playing? Randomly got one dirt cheap when a seller was getting rid of his kdm collection but havent cracked the plastic yet.
>>98223108The potion that let's you always see tip card of HL deck is insanely good imo.
>>98223108The monster is fun and a nice change of pace from lion, the armor is mediocre but can scale surprisingly well since it works with any shield and a 4 slot set is a nice advantage. Has a nice set of weapons to give alternate proficiencies to aim for at the start of the game, and the potion mini game is fun. I'd say it's worth it at or below msrp: don't give into the scalping faggots trying to get 150-200 for it.
>>98223692I got it for $40 iirc so thankfully no scalpers got any cash for me, just hadn't opened it because I've been working through some of the other expansions and trying to collect some material to eventually share to fill in the gaps that scananon hasn't done yet.
>>98212739Just think about how much it will be worth it in the end, fren
Just got my screaming god in the mail. Looks fun but we're about to take on Atnas 2 in PotDK so it'll be a minute before I can take it on. At least its finally game day tomorrow everyone has been too busy
>>98212739I wish I had gotten into airbrushing before I did mine. It looks like shit. Im happy enough with the Gambler but not his ball. Imagine stripping it will be a pain in the ass though. Same with my dragon king. Im fine with the paint job I gave him but ive improved enough that I want another go.
Got some recasts from uncle Chang today, and finished my butcher so I can fight him in the arcs campaign, you'll see the result of that fight in a bit.
>>98227959Cyclops knight is such a great mini/art/event I almost wish he had a nemesis encounter. Why take killenium bro off his fantastic base?
>>98228007I've got him magnetized for both, just focused on the mini base since killbilly is only for levels 2 and 3. I'll get the diorama base painted by ly16, which'll be a couple weeks at my current pace of one ly every other night or so. And for cyclops knight, I was honestly toying with homebrewing a fight for him, either as a hand replacement or the core monster of a campaign. I'd been feeling the itch anyway, what with wanting to make a knowledge for gorm to finally have a use for fucking lure epilepsy.
>Bought some recasts from a Chinese second hand market site, fully expecting low quality FDM trash>The quality is actually good >The seller even cleaned and sanded all the nub marks and fixed the gaps for freeForgive me Poot, i'm a poorfag
>>98228097Do not apologize, when poots is doing his bullshit of delaying COD another year when half of it should've just been card packs and reprints and his latest nonsense with the alpha armor kit and screaming god rulebook, he deserves to be starved so he can put his ass in gear snd remember we're the ones who are owed shit.
>>98223108I still like it and it's gear more than frogdogidk about croc tho
Built up my alpha armor survivors, because it was annoying having to use leather armor to represent them. Special loadout for one of the heroes of the last campaign, Teen Baan.
Gimped Atnas with ballad cheese because fuck you that's why, took on a level 3 Croc and got ready to hit the ground running on Gambler next session. Thinking of stashing Aspirational Ethos on the sculpture, managed to nab Muramasa from the hunt event while having a survivor who can't crit and also sent the Thundermaul into the box for the next campaign during perfect punt for memes. Great session.
>>98233132Perfect punt is a hilariously stupid mechanic. It's like the clinging mist restart except guaranteed and no downside other than losing that gear for the rest of the campaign (good riddance in some instances lol). What was poots thinking?
>>98234691The min maxxer wanted to send all kinds of things into it but I kept him to one rawhide set and the thunder maul for shots and giggles. I think the idea was make the early game less of a slog, less likely to fall apart a few years in from a couple bad rolls but its definitely the kind of mechanic that breaks the game wide open if you want it to. Like hes just leaving it to the player to show restraint
>>98234737>>98233132Well good/bad news, that's cheating lol. You can't put cursed gear in the box, and you can only put one piece of gear in there.
>>98235355>>98235355Oops lol. His autism keeps things too fast and loose unless we're building gear grids and characters for the next fight. Dunno how many times Ive had to stop him going into building and gearing up so we can get fucked by a story event.
>>98236692I don't blame you for missing that, the wording is unclear and basically no one checks the FAQ. And honestly, I play solo because I fear I'd be that kind of guy. I do care a lot about the storytelling and try to make decisions narratively, but I do enjoy this game largely because of the progression and build crafting. Even now, arcs is providing an interesting challenge with the CC curve, this is the first time I'm hunting level 2s this early and without song of the brave innovated.
>>98218278Can you grind the White Lion hunt, or is it one try only?I never played Kingdom Death because I'm poor, but I find it lore weird and interesting.
>>98237020Not that anon, but you can grind quarry monsters like the lion over and over. They have levels you can chose to fight as well (represents how far your going into the darkness away from your bright settlement). The nemesis monsters cant be grinded more then the set times they show up.
>>98237060>>98237020Also of note, generally later developed campaigns contain mechanics to encourage or force you to hunt higher level or a variety of monsters
>>98237060I see. That's a bit of a relief, you're not at the complete mercy of RNG. For what I've seen, the game can punish you if you do too well.>>98237167That does make sense too. Is there some kind of inflation system to punish spamming low-tier monsters or what?
>>98237186In people of the Lantern, which is the current "standard" campaign that comes with the core box, there's a boss battle about 2/3 of the way through that if you beat forces you to only hunt level 3s (and if you lose you die). Meanwhile, the gambler's chest expansion introduces Advanced KDM mechanics, which includes ARC Survivors. ARC survivors advance differently from normal ones, and their progression is tied to hunting higher level variants of each quarry monster, since you only get the needed points the first 1/2/3 kills of levels 1/2/3.
>>98237245ARC sounds a bit more fun. The Lantern people is a campaign with a time limit where the giant monster wakes up anyway and kills everyone, right?
Got in a couple of Antelope hunts today: one was okay, one was the most disastrous Antelope hunts I've ever had, including one person dead to crush and devoured for the first time ever for me. Protect the young is something else man. Still, that got the settlement to 14 CC, unlocking tier 2 philosophies, and I've got weapon crafter and leather worker online at this point, plus a few seed patterns built. Next is going to be hunting a gigalion, building a set of leather armor, and prepping for Phoenix hunts, slendy, and level 3s
Question to the KS whales:How's Screaming God? Besides the disintegrating rulebookI had a quick glance at the scans trying not to spoil too much to myself in case I do end up getting it one day, but I'm wondering how does it stack up against other node 4s like the GOAT DBK or King
>>98239775I'd give the expansion a 9/10, IMO fairer than King and Lion God while retaining that apex level of difficulty The fight is fairly fun and dynamic, but the biggest bullshit about it is that pretty much all of screaming God's reactions are reflexes that either move it or knock you back or worse, so you need reaction cancelling or basically weapons get slow. That, plus toughness 17-24 is just such a massive skew that a lot fewer weapons are visible against it, you basically need blacksmith weapons with something like Phoenix or dragon armor to stand a chance, or really strong rare gear. I fought all 3 levels a couple of times, and the AI cards are pretty fair with a few tech cards to fuck you over for specific cheeses like super evasion or shields. The actual terrain is really fun and rewards positioning well a lot, especially with how you can dodge ai cards completely by dashing into a crevice if you positioned yourself to not need to dash when the horizon shifted. And mind you, all of this was in a normal campaign, not arcs, where i didn't have any metal armor until alpha armor itself because of sunstalker so I imagine it'll be even easier for a properly built campaign. I'm excited to hit
>>98228097how did you paint it? there are some things i would say are rushed but then you look at the face and it looks insane
>>98240404I used mr surface pink, vallejo basic skintone, and makeup powder
hmm it seems this game has quite a bit of booby-woobies
>>98243121recipe stolen
>>98243121>and makeup powder
OH REALLY.tbf we also have male sluts. pinup manhunter is a smash hit with the ladies
>>98243902For every pair of tits it also has a cock flying around as well. Lots of them. Plenty of fully modeled assholes and balls as well. To be fair, many years ago I found this game after seeingnthw wet nurse model.
I just want to say thank you Mr Scanannon. I've got the 1.6 core and GCE but never get time to setup and play. Thanks to your scans I can chuck it in TTS and continue my campaign without stress!Cheers Brotendo.
>>98247017must have taken some time to make a mod though?
I wonder if they'll drop SG this month for us non-KS plebs or are they already in full Gencon prep mode and too busy to care about us peasants
>>98248209Maybe spare ones at gencon? But I double general screaming god release for a while thanks to the whole double release snafu.
>>98244640>Male survivors need a love potion to get intimate with thisare they all made gay?
>>98249186Hey man it's a confidence thing, you try just walking up and asking to tap the 7ft demigoddess whose slain literal dragons and gods.
>>98247017I would also like to thank Scananon.i spend the past weeks making gear sized knowledge cards.i am gonna do the neurosis+philosophy and maybe fighting arts.https://mega.nz/folder/ljclCJxR#VYcaI-pwL4i74CkKSxTyzwWhen i send these to MPC i can share the buy link if people are interested. i will probably start with at least 4 of each knowledge and have them be double sided. so 1 and 2 on the same card and then maybe put in 8 copies of comman 3 cards like tenacity
Man fuck ebay's AI/algorithm bullshit, I just found a bunch of shit I was looking for at a good price by going there in incognito mode and searching kingdom death. Meanwhile on my main browser the first 3 pages is a bunch of ripoff I clicked on once and now it's trying to get me to buy them forever more.
Wait so what's the lore behind this game? I thought it was just cool overpriced models, but reading this thread I understand it's an actual game.
>>98251289The lore is that we dont know the lore. There's only now information that gives us a slight idea of the biomes and factions while slowly revealing more of the "truth". Was originally "a world without history". To make a comparison, dark souls type story telling (i.e, information gained through small lore snippets you connect).
>>98251829...huh.So what is the game like? It's cards-based, right?
>>98251985Not quite, it's a minis game that just has a lot of cards. In terms of gameplay, think of it as a cross between a tactics game, monster hunter, and a colony sim. With boobies, of course.
>>98251985It plays like a grid based tactics game, alot of the randomization is a mix of card draw and 'roll on chart', which makes every campaign pretty unique. The crafting and gear is just represented by cards. There are tons of lore rabbit holes and connections to make, but the over all story is still very in the dark. It boils down to "your survivors care more about survival then they care where the white lions come from." But just reading the rules books and character vignettes gives you plenty to look up.
>>98252047>>98252152Ha, I see. Sorry, I found a wiki about Kingdom Death once, but it was all about "timeline" and "if you roll 4+, draw a card, but very little explanation on the very basics.
Good enough for play. Ca caw motherfucker, it's Phoenix time
>>98251985The game is basically monster hunter on a board. Each monster in the game has a deck of “AI” cards that it will draw from each turn that determines how it will move and act alongside a hit location deck that you draw from every time you land a hit that is basically how the monster reacts to you hitting and/or wounding it. The monster loses AI cards as you successfully attack it until you land the final blow when it has no AI cards left to lose. Then you harvest its body and make cooler weapons and armour and hunt bigger and badder monsters until you all die, or learn the dark truth of the place you call home, and then die.
>>98252179That unironically sounds very fun. Do you only hunt monsters (and deal with the King's Men and what else), or do you also have to grind for potions, sharpening stones, and what else?>make cooler weapons and armour and hunt bigger and badder monsters until you all die, or learn the dark truth of the place you call home, and then dieDoes it always end up with death?
>>98252187>does it always end in death?
>>98252227Now you REALLY worry me. I know the lanterns are some angler fish's lights to draw in survivors, but surely some of the other campaigns end better.
>>98252187Pretty much all the grinding is in the boss fights. There’s a settlement phase where you build up your little tribe by crafting items and researching more sophisticated ways to be cannibalistic cavemen, and a hunt phase where you track the monster down and get fucked up/blessed by a series of random events that happen along the way.>Does it always end up with death? There’s like one, debatably two happy endings in this whole game lol
>>98252237No no no you don't understand. It's a GOOD thing that humanity is exterminated every single game. That way it feels more REAL.
>>98249973Please share it when you do. So tired of of trying to remember all these by reading our shitty handwriting on the character sheet.
>>98252237As far as has been put together from the lore, it seems like the whole deal is to possible break the cycle of death and rebirth, while very violent and maniacle gods (entities) fuck around with you. Really leads into the "fuck yea humanity" when my cannibal caveman enter the iron age.>I WILL break the cycle of death>I WILL have sex with the futa satan twins so hard he turns back into regular satan and I kick him in the dickThats all I need to know.
>>98252419>tfw will never have a golden city expansion bringing gunpowder weapons, full steel armor, and advanced society principles in a 50 year campaign (first hero gets you to year 20 early iron age) because poots can't stop jerking himself off and takes 10 years to finish CoD
>>98252257>There’s a settlement phase where you build up your little tribeThat genuinely sounds fun, but I'm a sucker for city building and management. My biggest gripe with Warhammer RPG is that I haven't found any addition to add large-scale trading and production.>>98252264What do you mean, "humanity"? Do they all wipe? Not just the settlement?>>98252419I... see? Sounds like mankind kinda lost the game already though.
>>98252735Humanity definetly lost the struggle at some point. But leaving humans alone long enough it seems like humans can start becoming a problem, or even entities themselves. With all the biblical references our group likes to think that God lost the war in heaven and this is the aftermath of the corruption. Thats just our thing though, nothing really states how or why, but does list satan as the oldest entity.
>>98252390how would you handle the philosophy? can you get the phiolosophy neurosis without the philosophy from events?i was thinking about putting those 2 and the age required on the same card.
>>98249973If you've got any tips for getting everything looking clean please lmk. I just wanna get the PotL compatible innovations, locations, settlement events, disorders, abilities, gear, resources, armor sets and pattern cards into some png's that I can upload to TTS. Will post when complete!
>>98253455i use photopea and use pdf to png converter at 600 or 300 dpihttps://www.photopea.com/https://tools.pdf24.org/en/pdf-to-pngfor bleed i usehttps://getthebleedingedge.com/in photopea use select-color rangethen use sampled colors from 100-140then ctrl-j to put that into a new layer and click on the layer and use color overlay and stroke.then make a new layer that is black and turn off the background. use the eraser (e) to remove stuff around the text.you can also just select a part without text and type it in.if you just want the cards and not cropping your gonna have to just cute out the cards from the PNG'si use straighten layer (i) to straighten the card i am working on.i got all my methods from gemini
mmm.i dont think what i want is gonna work
>>98254406this is okay. maybe inverse text colors
I've still got to spend a day or 2 and build my screaming god box. I've waited 9 years for it, so a few weeks won't kill me to make sure it gets done right. been busy with my old warhammer stuff and finishing projects from long ago.
>>98255058So glad I never got proper into 40k. The models are super cool but the would have a pile of shame big enough to fill a shipping container to the brim hahaha.>>98254361This is awesome man! Really appreciate it. I'll give it a go when I get a spare few hours.
And slenderman level 1 is down pretty quick, after a brutal turn 2 and 3 where I got off all but one of his ai cards, which proceeded to send me on a yakety sax trip across the board as the last card kept ensnaring random survivors and putting him in different corners until I finally cornered (heh) him and sniped him with my archer, which allowed me to get off the last wound and trigger the deathblow. Sadly only two dark water because of how fast I butchered him, but with the grand feast off of his defeat, we got a homicidalist prodigy from a love juice, mentor, and forum lecture, which should be very nice assuming I can keep him alive unlike all my other homicidalists so far.
>fight phoenix for the first time, lvl 3 to bootyeah alright I see how it isthe shitbird is getting benched the very next campaign
>>98259870As is the way with Phoenix Worst designed quarry by a Longshot, and I'm including spidicules, because at least with spidicules the fight is fun, it's everything else that's the problem. Meanwhile, Phoenix is the opposite where the fight and the hunt is dogshit but you hunt him anyway because the aftermath and rewards are really good. Even the King and Screaming God, they're ballstompers yeah, but they have lots of built in counterplay to let you fight if you stand up to them. Phoenix just says fuck you, *erases you from existence* or *deletes your armor* or *teleports away*. It's not fun difficultly, it's just bullshit
progress on the queentruely a pain in the ass but it will look great in the end
>>98252774Is that the current lore? I get that Poots is literally autistic but from the People of the Dreamkeeper campaign it seemed like to be more riffing off Goblin Slayer in that we playing the game are "the gods" and affecting the world through dice rolls and such and the player pieces are hallucinating their reality. Then again the comic and philosophy books hint that the world is actually purgatory for damned souls which fits with having Satan so probably only Poots knows.
>>98261596Its known that "Entities" is the word that can be seen as "gods" in the fact that they are just incredibly powerful beings, with satan and the goblin being this worlds chief problems. They do kind of hint that with people of the star, the dragon Tyrant might be an outsider and other eldritch things popping in and out. I see it more as the biblical idea of the world is that god/Satan were just the chief entities. The silver city and golden plains of the lion motif were said to be corrupted by the watchers, and watcher provide void cloth to the Kings, so the hand, the gambler, and some other entities are trying to farm that by, from what it seems, leading humans to the watchers with the pile of lanterns. Again, theres ALOT of interpretations, so my group just enjoys the biblical angle to it and rolls with that (and with poots audience becoming very discord vocal, I can see him really trying to move away from any other biblical references).
>>98261733I like the biblical angle and when I was first introduced to kingdom death my group immediately pegged the setting as purgatory. The deadism philosphy and the comic hints at this alot but it also leads to the dissociation knowledge and with the Gambler letting you manipulate the world as the ultimate "gods of the setting".It's very similar to Goblin Slayer or even the Yu-Gi-Oh! RPG Shadow games, so that's why I'm curious if Poots will keep that as the overaching lore or he'll change it by the time all the expansions release by 2030+
First Phoenix slain rather easily, due to a lucky dead monster, glorious arm pit crit, and two very harmless AI cards. We're at 18 CC at top of ly12, so I'm gonna be ballsy here and go for a level 3 white lion, to get me nutrition real early and hopefully a ton of hide in preparation for Phoenix set and blacksmith. I've got the tanking, with two survivors with +3 evasion after monster grease and a 6 armor all around leather + elder's aegis, and hopefully the damage with a katar specialist at potentially 14 str when he pounces with light warrior up. Going to try for that hunt tonight, wish me luck.
And the beast is vanquished, at the cost if one if the settlement's heroes, my katar survivor actually getting pretty close to mastery. Had to sacrifice someone to eat the trap. With the benefit if hindsight, probably should have sacrificed the dude in rawhide instead, but hey I came home to cracks in the ground so someone else died anyway! Smsll mercies, principle conviction didn't steal my shit, so now I have almost everything I need for count set.
>>98262615
I have the 1.4 base game, 1.5 update Smoke knight, Gorm and Dung Beetle expansion, and the Gamble chest. Should i buy this 1.6 legendary card pack to update my game to 1.6? $30 (plus $15 shipping) for a few cards is really expensive
>>98262935Wait til black Friday or see if you can get it on ebay for cheap. The updates it makes are genuinely good in some places, like freeing up the tier 2 locations to work with any quarries instead of just the core 3, but it's also just some paid nerfs like verspentine bow and screaming armor. I'd check whst version of dbk you have as well, his typoes are actually really bad and needs the card pack more than others since it causes actually gameplay issues
>>98252237>eaten by the Sunstalker babies in the People of the Sun campaign>can either successfully become new radioactive draconic demigods in People of the Stars or fail so hard they get exterminated and the Dragon King goes permanently mad>can survive the Gambler's trials and outlast the Godhand's attempts to literally erase them due to the Gambler breaking the "rules" in People of the Dreamkeeper or get so thoroughly wiped from existence that they essentially never existed at allBest 2/4 ain't so bad.
>>98261596>>98261733>>98261937The Entities are the reigning forces of the Kingdom Death setting, using the survivors and us (as in, the players) as a means to resolve various events they ordain in their favor. We as the players exist on a 'higher reality' than the survivors but the games the Entities play extend beyond that, with us being just as much game pieces as the survivors are to us. The Gambler even alters things in our favor several times in GC in order to not instantly have us lose or our survivors die (like that event where the Gambler and the Hand are playing a game (implicitly the gameboard of KD itself) and if your survivor actually sees what's being played, then the lowest possible roll would have them instantly killed...except the Gambler crosses it out instead) and we can only "harm" the Gambler by manipulating things as the players involving the real-world dice rolls, which is something the Gambler allows us to do. The entire reason the Hand comes back and starts flexing its authority as the Godhand to fuck everyone up is because the Gambler "cheated" by granting mere survivors power and awareness faro outside of their station, enabling them to not only do things they should never have been able to do, but outright take down monsters like the King. And it laughs and leaves if you manage to survive long enough for it to break its own sword from putting too much power behind it, because at the end of the day, the Entities are just playing a game. There's also the Scribe, who is still casually writing things into existence.Poots has long since moved on from the Entities just being really powerful monsters and has gone far more meta with them, instead treating them as transcendent forces who are using KD as a means of cheap entertainment for themselves. It's also implied that the Gambler/Hand/Scribe are "lesser Entities" with Satan/the Ivory Dragon being our first look at one of the major ones.
>>98262935>$30 + 15 shipping + $10 tax for a bunch of cheap ass paper cardsThe 1.6 update for the base game should be free, fuck Poot
>>98264305Sorry anon, Pootsy needs funding for 10 more years of kickstarter 2 expansion development (supposed to be released in 2019 btw) (wasting your money on stupid animations and jerking off his knockoff purposefully shit TTS btw)

Phoenix level 2 proves as brutal as always, lost a promising young gigaslayer and almost everyone else is old as fuck because she died and there were no threats to prevent a spiral age. Barely clutched it with 4 bleeding tokens at the end. Onto black knight tomorrow, which should ironically be easier than this dickmashing I'm putting myself through.

>>98244640I'd love to paint the painter's scale models for these but they're kinda expensive. About twice the price compared to even the other painter's scale miniatures.
>>98269122Is there even anything in KDM that isn't overpriced?
>>98262935Just print it yourself. The 1.6 pack is mostly typo fixes, a few minor updates to settlement locations, and some nerfs
Should i buy Tabletop simulator? It’s on sale right now. I have the base game and GBC but it’s a pain in the ass to set up and i mostly just play solo anyway
>>98269133The painter's scale minis are expensive normally but going from $70 to $130 is a huge jump, and on top of that I'm not a yankee so I'd have to pay shipping too. That puts it well into the price range of ¥20,000+ so it's competing with resin garage kits and so on.The best one is out of stock anyway so no problem

This is what I've done. Honestly thinking about the GCE mod once I can play non arc survivors.Got a young kid and not the moat stable living situation, so getting the time and space to set up, let alone trying to organise other people to play with hahaha. Just cant actually set up the game.Plus being able to just save the game and hop off is really nice. Settlement phase takes a ridiculously long time. I think I might be too much of a min maxer hahaha

The Black Knight has been felled, mostly smooth with a few scrambles but nothing more than -1 or -2 to the roll. And out of it we got the three good parts of the count set, which I already have the resources to build, and 9 basics thanks to my elder who hit ageless this fight. Overall, very good year, we'll see if the luck keeps when we rematch with Phoenix 2 later.
>>98271427you have not finished the 2 phoenix lvl2 by the time you hit black knight?
>>98271454Nah, my first time playing with arcs, so I took it slow in the early Lantern years. I did get a level 3 gigalion in though.
>>98271529Phoenix down much easier this time, getting surge made all the difference who knew. We also reached 30 cc off of an arcs hunt event + level 2 Phoenix, so I spent 4 lumi to grab our two first ambitionists, who are both immediately establishing their characters with one being a blackhearted psychopath and the other being an evasion + accuracy trainer.
>>98273044And last one for the night, gigalion level 3, who continues to be shockingly dangerous for how powerful my survivors are. Enraged at level 3 fucking hurts. But we do have the engine going now at least,I've got 4 matchmakers and tinkers easily going out, and 1 + 4x endeavors I can easily generate X survivors with whatever philosophy I want, and with a decent chance of them coming out a prodigy or at least twins if it's a feast year.
>>98273044Having not played with arc survivors makes me feel like I'm having a stroke reading this.
I do not like the red witches. They insist upon themselves.
>>98209662test >>98209662
Butcher and Black Knight defeated back to back, butcher was so easy I forgot to take pictures, Killenium Butcher is a bit of a disappointment on that front, and the Black Knight knocked us around some but we prevailed nonetheless, and we even managed to straight up kill him, grabbing the iron hand, which I'm not sure is super practical to use but hey no more clogging up my timeline.
>>98277451I just really liked the survivor models in it. I just hate brining out the airbrush and having to paint all the skin for the actual witches
>>98279921For me, I just hate that for an expansion supposedly about the white speaker cult it barely has any connection to the white speakers other than punishing high understanding and half naked ladies. Pariah feels more white speaker themed than them for God's sake.
So I'm slowly building all the armor sets and narrative sculpts, and the difference in quality between old minis and new ones is honestly mind-blowing.Since I don't have enough time to build everything in the immediate future, what old sets are actually cool? So that I can build them and skip the rest for now. I have all old expansions for what is worth.
>>98281826Save them to immortalize memorable survivors from your campaign.

>>98281826I use all the early ones for kit bashing some personal survivors or using as dead/mutilated bodies. They just arnt the right scale on new stuff.
Phoenix level 3 downed not so shockingly easily thanks to the Iron hand. I won't actually be able to use it that often (screaming god, slenderman, parasite queen, and watcher are all kind of bad ideas to need to stand still for a turn), but it will allow me to pretty much obliterate every other level 3.

>>98287181Yeah like bro nice sale, and I'd like to buy the dragon king indom because dragon king is my favorite node 3 but has the shittiest gear, but my guy I just bought GCE on ebay, this morning I'm wiped until BF.
>>98287087It sucks that we live in a world where my brain is screaming at me that this is AI but I know Adam would never tolerate that shit with his BoOteEq crap. Just that this is the style the AI is designed to ape.
Is there any event in KDM that can turn my character into a cube? haha just wondering
>>98288078Atnas the baby eater is, cannonicly, cubed but the entities for his hubris. So, technically yes, cube-ing someone is perfectly within reason for the setting.
This game needs First Hero and CoD more than Poots will ever know. ~30 years is so fucking long and node 3 gear is such ass you basically only hunt them for CC while King gear is everything due to scaling. Break up the monotony Potts jfc. We deserve short campaigns and the early game skip.
The slenderman is downed, Gloom Hammer obtained, 3 masteries completed, and we innovated nightmare training so I could fit in a 4th mastery. And thanks to all for one its actually pretty easy for me to pump out masteries, I can just drain the returning survivors. So, pretty good year, and now I can focus on screaming god.
>>98288403Dude, I don't play with Arc survivors, and I have no idea how they work. But that sounds so cool.

>>98291218It's certainly a lot of fun. I've been playing with just scribe and the MEGA scans, but I've been enjoying it enough to order a GCE of my own. The one thing is that it requires a lot of tracking, I couldn't imagine playing this without scribe, so if you don't like digital tools it may or may not be your thing (poots Jesus christ why is the Sim so poorly automated). The other thing is because of how some philosophies (basically custom age tracks tailored for a certain build archetype) are unlocked, you are kind of heavily incentivized to pick some principles because they're better supported, like cannibalism and romanticism, which might cramp some people's style (poor barbarism, the only thing you've got going for you is ultimate weapon, and only in POTL and POTS)
>>98291714What kind of technique did you use for all the guts?

Started hunting thr screaming god recently, been going well this time around mainly due to abusing reaction cancelling and surging to kill the bustard as fast as possible thanks to being able to crest crown and avoid the downsides of speed spam. Handy! Probably the only core game level 3 item worth the risk lol. >>98292965>They btfo classic survivors in power and the only downside is lack of fighting artsHonestly, I haven't really seen that thus far this campaign. The strongest thing I've really seen is death education and being able to kinda build your fighting arts, but that's in exchange for having a much wider range of fighting arts to choose from, some of which are stronger than your average knowledge, and certainly easier to obtain than some of the rank 3s. And that's if the philosophy is even in your campaign, I really wanted to try verminism.
Are there any box split/ single mini sellers?

Game tonight with the group . Fighting watcher for the first time. Any tips and tricks? We are excited to start gce after this since we had a big string of campaign fails with core and would hate to get hit with the timeless KDM classic "lol random number rilled, kill all survivors and fuxk yourself"
>>98297758>if the philosophy is even in your campaignWith arcs, on settlement creation can you choose what philosophies are in the pool?
>>98300658Philosophies get unlocked gradually through the campaign through Collective Cognition, earned by hunting a variety of monsters across nodes and quarries. You unlock tier 1 Philosophies on your first return to settlement, which include survivalism, dreamism in POTDK, and 2 of the 4 random tier 1 Philosophies, +1 if you're not playing people of the dream keeper and thus don't have dreamism. After that, at CC13 (sometime around ly7-10 if you're keeping up) you'll unlock 3 of the 5 tier 2 Philosophies. Finally, at CC30 (sometime around ly15-18) you'll unlock 1 of 2 tier 3 Philosophies. When people talk about how broken arcs, they're usually talking about the higher power tier 2 knowledges and tier 3s, the tier 1s are nothing special.

Well we finally did it. Got the last few years done and died to goldsmoke (which is fine, since it dosnt have much in the way of alternitives). We will finally be starting gamblers chest by popular vote. So a question about the scout: how involved is it? We have someone who loves to watch us play but we had already started. Is the scout a good way to get them involves in the game? Or too risky?
>>98269122>>98244640I would've bought the Painter Scale Lucy or Forgot Bust but I don't wanna pay for shipping from the USHQ. A shame they don't go to any of the regional distro centre's
>>98301993You're explicitly not supposed to have a player solely operate the scout, from whst I've seen (not from personal experience, because I play solo and hate everything about scouts) your job is literally just to maybe lug some support gear and always run away.

Had a very anticlimactic killenium butcher level 3...rolled up, did like 8 wounds to him turn 1 between a vandal sledge and his own killenium cleaver, on his first turn he then put out Lantern frenzy (on a survivor with 8 evasion...not the best choice) and screaming, frenzied everyone, then the survivor with the alpha armor, vandal sledge, and legendary lungs finished him off with 12 wounds in one go off his own frenzy. Invincible really just did not protect him this time, only rolled one 9. Then we came bsck to s hilarious smoke break before departing again to hunt a Phoenix level 3 after getting up a Fist and tooth master with our 11 endeavors.

Vanquished a Phoenix level 3. Old Man Boris is still basically 1v1ing these guys, but at least I'm letting others get their licks in, including an up and coming dagger master with the lucky cat Fang knife and death education to ceit most monsters on a 2-4+

>>98310286No. Its tedious busywork that only comes into play if you do grimjaw memes in the early/midgame, wipe(just do the event anyway) or faces in the sky forbid, run 5 players and rotate who does it. GCE has some great content but theres a lot of bloat if you use everything.

Everything I've heard about Kingdom Death: Monster makes it sound like the absolute perfect game for me. The idea of managing a colony in a brutal, Dark Souls-esque world upgrading your settlement and training survivors to hunt insane monsters feels like it was tailor-made for my tastes. But with a price tag of $400+, there is simply no way I can rationalize buying it.Is there a miniture-less option or something else I can do for tabletop at my home for me and my group?

No idea if this is the right place to ask or whether I should better ask in the WIP thread, but has anyone made a "silk" fur White lion? What I mean is that I imagine the lion's fur to be slightly translucent because of the very thin white hair, so the pink-grey skin shines through, but I don't quite know how to do that effect, since I come from scale modeling and have only recently started venturing into mini painting and I was wondering if there are any techniques for that; at least a cursory search didn't yield anything. Also, I am currently playing Expedition 33 and more often than not I get a KDM vibe from it. Am I just imagining things?
>>98321420use the real transparency of your paintpaint the skin, then paint a thin coat of "fur" of top of it so you perceive the skin through
>>98321750Ehhh, the problem with glazes is that they look like, well, glazes. Fur looks different. From an oblique angle it will look white, but if you look at it from at a right angle you will see the skin.Maybe such an effect is simply not doable with paints.

Starting our first arcs campaign. Is gatherism really worth that price? Is it even a good expansion?
>>98324601None of the whiteboxes are worth it on gameplay alone, get them for the model first and foremost. For philosophies specifically, it's an addition to the already most crowded tier and its content is largely parasitic, not a need to have at all.

I actually do think, just to give me a challenge I can actually win before parasite queen, I'm going to have the last hunt of the campaign be a level 3 king, just to try that shit out now that I've got GCE unboxed. >>98324925Anyway, got the group coming by for our first attempt at arcs tonight. We had a successful Knight campaign and wish Poots would release cod so we can have more themed stuff.
And, for the last hunt of the campaign, the gang went and stumbled unto a level 3 king "somehow", beating it with the power of 10 evasion, critting on 2+, and a whole lot of HL scouting. God am I going to miss cat's eye when I do PotDK proper next. Managed to get enough deathmetal for a whole king gear grid between the huge metal ingot and 3 delves into the devolving labyrinth. Now to throw all this shit at parasite queen and cry.

>>98329808Danke anon, I know its probably annoying for some people but despite my many complaints about poots both in terms of design and project management, I do actually like playing this game and want to encourage people to talk about it more than once a month on sale days.
>>98333343I get it. We started our game last night but there were no exciting moments. We had one survivor doe to the prolog croc (rolled a one and got devoured). But they really set up the book oddly so the knowledge deck stuff is weird to me. Do we get to keep that knowledge that the survivor who died, had? Does the player just wait until we get the forum to get another knowledge? Philosophy first? Wish there was a better, more human break down of how it works.
>>98333415Whenever you get a knowledge, including the ones in the prologue, they immediately go into the knowledge deck. The forum just lets you start sharing your knowledges. Your primary source of knowledges for each survivor is going to be their philosophy, since they tend to synergize best internally, while using the forum to pass along the most powerful or interesting synergies between philosophies. The initial Philosophies are going to get pretty boring too, mostly there to fill the knowledge deck with upgraded versions of useful staples. It's when you get to tier 2 Philosophies that they get interesting
>>98333527I see. I keep getting the order of things mixed up since it had us get a knowledge befor a philosophy. We only just finished the prolog fight before having to pack up for the night. I just felt bad for the player who died so early. So im seeing>hit hunt xp 2>pick philosophy >then pick a knowledge associated with that?>books for philosophy will tell you how you rank upI assume alot of the other stuff unlocks naturally. We are pretty excited, but a whole session of words words words had us scratching our heads a bit.
>>98333557>>then pick a knowledge associated with that?Usually, for each philosophy rank you roll a dice and at least one of the results will give the survivor a knowledge (which then also gets added to the knowledge deck). Think of it as instead of a generic age track with a scattering of mostly fighting arts and rare stat ups, each philosophy is a custom age track with its own associated "fighting arts", and that also along the way you're building up your fighting art deck from what other people have experienced.
>>98333574Alright, sounds ds like we were on track and can fix any mistakes made on year 1 without ruining game state.

>>98334402Well this is my second time fighting parasite queen in a full campaign, first time around I lost due to a dumb mistake on my own part. The endbosses certainly follow a scape of power creeping, first its gold smoke knight whose only real barrier is the super high toughness they all share but once you can crack that, either through luck stacking, strength stacking, Lantern research sharp weapons, or red charm/auto sounds. Then there's godhand, who I haven't fought yet but from the looks of it poots has learned most of the common cheese like evasion stacking so he's a lot meaner and liberal with throwing out instant kills but unfortunately poots left a small sindow where you could kill him scot free so of course he started getting 1 turned, at which point poots just said "alright fuck you, you don't get to actually wound me until you find my mcguffin" and stacked on even more instakills on parasite queen Despite this, in my first arcs survivors campaign I managed to kill her with only 2 casualties and one near death. The power creep is real man.

>>98347503Damn I love the Killenium model, I hope they do more Vignettes, but add all the AI cards needed so they can be used as a good intro product instead of relying on con setups or making the only way in a regularly out of stock $450 USD box
>>98347630screaming god does that but even then you'd still need core rules, tokens, dice, disorders, fighting arts etcwhile they could include extra copies of FAs just like they already do with armor sets for vignettes (since you most likely wont be getting any new ones during a vignette showdown), but disorders are a different story - and then you'd still need the severe injuries and brain trauma tables along with core showdown rules at the very least
Had my first fight against Bone eaters and they absolutely demolished my team before my second Smog singers fight
>>98350055It's a little weird that fighting smog singers is basically a whole ass second level 1 quarry (10 wounds, T8) except way harder because they have 5 attacks at 2/3+/2, and yet they don't at least give you pity CC if you fight them and have to abort the hunt after.
>>98350554>fighting smog singersFighting BONE EATERS, urgh
>mfw fighting the mountain lion in the squires campaignwhat the FUCK was thatI won but only because I was truly blessed with some god tier luck during the showdown and even then everyone was on their last legs and if hadnt killed the lion, he would’ve drawn fucking 5 ai cards next turn thanks to a cheeky terrifying roarAlso Owen got the dishonorable disorder and currently has 0 insanity which means he technically cant depart, since I cant make him insane or cure the disorder this lantern year, so uuuuh, idkAND THEN I still need to beat a lvl 2 kingsman without having someone with king’s step or any shields and a fucking lvl 3 phoenix, absolute insanityNow I get why this campaign is so disliked, this is just a gauntlet of shit
>>98350727Its the great filter of that campaign. The whole thing is a kino challenge run. After several full length campaigns a difficult boss rush like that is fun
>two croc fights and only got 1 glassIm a bit perturbed. Also my favorite survivor turned retarded after rolling a 1 on the seed pattern event.
>>98329718how you critting 2+ on regular survivors?
>>98342157you wanna get some guide out here? this one actually makes me wanna paint because it does not use NMM and makes me think i can actually do it.
>>98347491thats all pre frogdog comments.which too be fair was like a 6 year period or something
>>98355370NMM, I think, is mostly done just to show off that you know how to blend well. I don't think it looks particularly good on minis. I much prefer regular metallics on something you're handling and moving around all the time
>>98342157Its the eyes, man. I can never get those perfect eyes. I always end up just leaving them white or just darkening the area darkest dungeon style. Everytime i try for an iris it just turns into garbage no matter how pointed the brush. Im also getting old.Question on rules though: just got the first bone eaters event. Its all 5 everytime right? The event cards just determine monster level right?
>>98355895Level one is 4 bone eaters iirc. Check their showdown page in the rulebook. They all have different setups.
>>98355370Sorry, I don't know anything about NMM. It's too complicated for me, and I think it looks kind of weird sometimes
