Does the DNDs' Paladin fall and lose all Powers if he gets Tricked into literally smoking Pots? Breaks 10 commandments of God... not Lawful Good!Lets say Paladin finally defeats the Bandit... Smashed in Half!Paladin brings out $1k Cuban Cigar to celebrate... Lights it Up!Problem is... Bandit saw this coming, Bandit emptied Cuban Cigars and made them full of Pots to make Paladin literally fall and lose all Powers! You know what they say... Paladin fall and losing all Powerers is literally Chekov's Gun! Its there so it WILL happen... basic Media Literacy.
I'm just glad that this one weirdo who has the same writing style as Timecube-guy is still around.Stay incoherent, brother. We're depending on you.
>>98212858I don't see "Thou shalt not consume narcotics" on this.
Does the DNDs' Paladin fall and lose all Powers if he gets Tricked into literally banging Femboy? Breaks 10 commandments of God... not Lawful Good!Lets say Paladin finally defeats the Bandit... Smashed in Half!Paladin goes on date with Cute Tavern Wench to celebrate... Knocks her Up!Problem is... Bandit saw this coming, Bandit secretly replaced Tavern Wench with Femboy to make Paladin literally fall and lose all Powers! You know what they say... Paladin fall and losing all Powerers is literally Chekov's Gun! Its there so it WILL happen... basic Media Literacy.
>>98212918That's some talmudic thinking you got there, rabbi
>>98212858I don't think any Faerun deities forbid the consumption of clay
>>98212858Why in the world would smoking pot cause him to fall?Retarded fuckin schizo
>>98212969it is morally wrong bucko
>>98212858I repeat, what the fuck is this faggot's deal? He's been spamming the board for weeks.
>>98212971What? According to who, bozo?
>>98213040Jesus
>>98212858Only if not smoking pot is part of his oath to his specific God, but it could be argued that being "tricked" into it would mean he didn't willingly break his oath, and furthermore, you're a huge fucking faggot. Kill yourself.
>>98213082Where does he say that? Because Genesis clearly says that we are to make use of all the seed bearing plants of the Earth.
Depends on the setting
>>98212858No, but they do smite you with lightning, OP
Pot and slavery are both legal in D&D.
>>98212858Someone who smokes tobacco wouldn't have the discipline and strength of character to become a paladin in the first place.
>>98213262Roland deschain
>>98212858OP...
>>98213105weed is illegal
>>98212942Muhametians are lawful evil.
Why do I have to learn a new dialect whenever a massive retard like OP shows up?
>>98213332A fair point, actually. Let's say that someone who has access to expensive Cuban cigars and therefore presumably also to modern RL knowledge about the downsides of smoking but who still chooses to smoke wouldn't be paladin material. Then again, depending on the game, edition and level, paladins can be supernaturally healthy, so maybe they are immune to adverse effects of smoking and phtsical addiction, and smoking's actually fine for them. If that's the case, though, the same would surely apply to other substances. I dunno, maybe it works like that and paladins can smoke whatever they want, or snort cocaine and shoot heroine if they feel like it, with no problems.
>>98212858no?
>>98213365Now you're just saying stupid shit as though it's funny. Fuck off. >>98213381Smoking, regardless of substance is not a sin, nor is it prohibited by any known chivalric oath, real or fictional.
>>98213453It's not a sin, it's a weakness. Being a paladin takes, again, discipline and strength of character, not just being a good guy.
>>98212858Are you too poor? An ego te absolvo only costs 1 gold piece "charity" for the priest, or a bottle of wine for the shaman, or a visit to the local brothel with the imam (with little boys, females are haram). Bonus points if the Drugs & Diversity paladin dips into rabbi and does it himself."I absolve myself of all sins. Amen.""Loopholes? Yes, that's the name of the second part of the holy scriptures, composed by paladins like myself."
>>98213458Yeah but flawed characters are more interesting. My paladins are always chain smoking alcoholics. A noir paladin if you like.
>>98213458>it's a weaknessthat's a "you" problem. some people get addicted coffee, and some can drink it just fine.
>>98212858If you are tricked than you were not willingly breaking your oath. Taking an effort to amends the wrongs of your mistake is enough to prevent the loss of powers.
>>98212858It would depend on the edition, and what type of Paladin or paladin-adjacent (prestige) class the player has taken. In 5e/5.5, I'd say none of them would fall for smoking that dank kush, and ancients would absolutely do that shit after every major battle and share with the party because ancients is the nature/revelry paladin oath in 5e/5.5.
>>98212858Paladin can't get hooked on drugs, addiction is a form of self-inflicted mental disease. And Paladin is (from 3rd level onward) immune to any and all disease.
>>98212858Depends if the deity is lawful stupid or not
>>98220402Paladin who insists he isn't addicted to weed because it's physically impossible for him to (he smokes 10 Gs a day)
>>98212858>TrickedGods aren't talmudic bean counters in most settings
>>98221474it is physically impossible to get addicted to weed. You may develop some physical dependence after heavy chronic use though but most of the time the withdrawal symptoms are less severe than say caffeine dependence. Psychological addiction is far commoner and a bigger problem though.
>>98221634Im not against it but the stoners in my group have had their coping skills atrophy because of it so when theyre not high, any inconvenience bugs the shit out of them.
>>98221692That is probably psychological. THC is stored in fat and can take a long time to actually leave the system. Unless they stayed away from the stuff for at the very least a week they shouldn't have any physical withdrawal. The thing is a lot of people use weed to essentially self medicate, numb whatever is bothering them, so when they are not high their problems start to affect them again. They should probably seek therapy and at least limit their intake.
