I've been playing since 1994 and most games until 2003~2004 were decided by T9+, then until 2012~2013 were decided by T6+, now today most decks go for the T2/T3 win or control the board by that time. They need to get rid of FIRE and go back to early 2010s design philosophy and do it for a while so standard can reset a little. It's accelerating to YGO's tempo where the game is often decided on T0 or T1. This shit isn't fun, Magic is no longer the thinking man's game.Modern is beyond fucked. Unless they ban most never-Standard cards, there's too much power in the 1-drop and too many free interactions. Being tapped out should be a signal of zero interaction opportunity except in the rare case. I don't mind free interactions but they dominate the format and butcher so many earlier cards, that we're always trending towards newer = better. Modern was meant to be where standard decks get a second life: introducing cards directly to modern was a really dumb idea.Treasure tokens, food tokens, etc tokenization of Magic, Planeswalker card type, adventures, MDFC, the game is diluted way too much. It's just not fun to play since it's no longer a straightforward card game but a boardgame in disguise. Don't get me started on the Fortnitification of Magic.>TQModular. If you flickered a Thragtusk once you could not lose to burn.It's pretty crazy that Thraggles MacTuskington is still powercreeping cards of the same rarity that came out a decade later. Jace is compelling to me when he's brushing up between his own trauma pushing him down darker impulses and his genuine desire to be better, or when he's constantly painfully aware of how much harm he could be doing.
